Some woke pros, in the past if not now, produced decent readable work with decent art. I'm not talking about the obvious diversity hires here, I'm talking about the really old guys who call you a Nazi on Twitter because they think that's hip with the young people and they think of Millennials as "the young people". Gerry Conway is a good example.

Of course, EVS is an old pro himself who got kicked out of DC. Originally, I thought it was because of "woke," but now I think it's because he's an insufferable son of a bitch. Richard, on the other hand, is both a never was and a never will be. No matter what degeneracy EVS gets up to, he'll always have his Green Lantern work to look back on. Ya Boi Zack, though? I'm sure he thinks in 20 years Pandemic will be considered the height of Art and Culture, but I'm pretty sure people will have forgotten about it.

I genuinely believe Jawbreakers is the one thing people remember from Richard and that's the one he threw a hissy fit about and ended. You were right with he's a never was and never will be. He's a blip in the grand scheme of comics, he moved nothing, he accomplished nothing, and he's gay.

I called him out for it ITT at the time (and a few other things over the years), while still remaining cordial, but I don't think I truly appreciated just how much of a vindictive egotistical maniac EVS is until after his feud with Eric July started. That was my red line.

I think a lot of different things can be true at once. There is evidence EVS suffered political hostility while at D.C., but there is also clear proof he has a shitty work ethic and can be a PITA to work with.

Because something that isn't true would be a lie. People don't like being lied to, being gaslit, or dealing with pretentious morons. Usually it gets tiresome and they walk away or ignore the source. However! When we have a roadkill cat-brained grifter whose breathless lispy rants are so entertainingly stupid that passersby can toast marshmallows to the heat of his tardrage, I would say that the energy received is greater than the energy spent. The key is to mock ceaselessly and sit back and watch the random spergouts.

If I were to hazard a guess as to why these talentless prog-jockeys keep getting work after failing time and time again, it's because comics serve the film industry and the film industry serves the streaming industry and the streaming industry serves the mega brands and Disney parks and resorts which among other things used for uniparty vice, grift and blackmail. Every Disney princess becomes a Dubai Porta Potty Hottie during yacht season.

But that's far too serious subject matter and I'd rather watch the unofficial sequel to the Goonies where Sloth decides to murder all the children when they make fun of him for going around their neighborhood shouting "HEY YOU GUYS!!" wearing his Superman pirate outfit, shitting on random lawns with Baby Ruth chocolate smears all over his face and hands.

Actually though, who the fuck even IS Richard Meyer and how did he ever get an audience in the first place? I had always assumed that he was also an ex-pro like EVS but that appears to not be the case.

He first got a lot of attention because a comics pro threatened to physically assault him over his comic reviews at a con. If they had left him to ramble in his car like a lunatic, he'd probably have eventually flamed out before getting "big" enough to launch Jawbreakers, which was probably the last shot in the arm he got, because it accompanied his suit with Waid.

From what I understand, he's basically just a military vet, who likes comic books, and was in the right place, at the right time, with the right message, with those old 240p fast foot parking lot cell phone streams of his.

I mention his autobiography here because Zack apparently admits in it that all his successes have been attributable to dumb fucking luck, and never design. Him becoming the OG founder of CG being no different (though the book, published in 2005, doesn't go into CG).

Yeah..... I can hardly wait to see how both Ethan van cryer and Ya Soy Zack explain or lie about this in order to cope..... My money is on them going to accuse Eric of bribing him, or Zachary Levi of being desperate for work. Or they will just insult Zachary Levi saying he's washed up and not important like they did to Mark Millar and now trying to do to Chuck Dixon. They have to find a W for them somehow....even if they don't have one that's real.

Well, at this point *and after almost 4 years later it was bound to happen* more people see through EVS and his nonsense then don't now....hell I even saw some of his own hardcore followers tell him to chill out with the way he's acting, so THAT tells me even they know he's crossing a big line.
