He touches a lot of things he shouldn't. Urinals, drugs, gambling and many others. DC is getting desperate but even they want a certain paycheck over someone who alienated everyone he worked with or supported him due to his lack of productivity. They are too poor for cash to spend their meager funds on someone like that.

They want products on the shelves, not vague promises. What happens if they ask him to make the new monthly issue of Superman only to be told it will not be ready for at least 3 months after the deadline? You think they will keep him?

DC comics never should have made a Red Hood issue about the death of Charlie Kirk, or pretty much tell their entire audience that disagrees with them politically that they want them dead. Even if they bounced back from this, they're not going to learn a damn thing and they'll just do it again in a sneaker way sooner or later.

You are missing the point entirely.

Ethan is far more desperate than D.C. is now. If Ethan keeps thinking he has any chance of getting back into D.C. (even though I agree he never will), he may very figure it's not worth going after Shazam just to throw more ineffective shit on July.

I consider it an outside chance he'll just keep his yap shut on this one.

WB is so badly run, I suspect half the time the higher-ups view the comics division as just a bit higher than the janitorial division and only keep it to retain the IPs.

Otherwise, they would never have let an unqualified tranny nepo baby run the whole show.

I do not think they care. They want to do what they think will give them money. Be it woke virtue signaling or pivoting to the center now that woke is getting less and less popular (and considering Charlie Kirk's assassination, might also give them bad publicity). They are snakes that chase trends, not true believers. They will fire the activists, they will try to win us back but they were never on our side nor will they be. They will just do what they think needs to be done to get our money.

No, I get that he is more desperate. I just argue that while DC is also desperate, they are not desperate enough to call him. I never argued he had a chance. I just said that even if they were bringing someone in, he would be the worst choice as he has horrible work ethic and they would be throwing money into the fire. Money that they do not have, btw.

I am not saying he has a chance. I am saying that even if a chance presented itself, he would never have been picked for it.

The comic production firms DC/Marvel/etc. are just idea houses for streaming services to pick over like vultures eating roadkill on the side of the highway. As I've posted over and over again in this thread, the US 18-35 male demographic has largely checked out of reading fiction. They play video games, watch youtube videos, or movies from their youth on repeat. They don't engage with the written word outside of non-fiction writing which is mostly social media centered. News, escapism, flame wars, biographies, raw philosophy, etc.. That's where most men in the US are doing their reading. Likewise, the male youth are engaged in manga, anime, and mobile games. They do not give two flying shits about comics. They're not going to either. The main vehicle for getting kids into comics (the MCU/DCCU) has now firmly bent toward adult entertainment.

So tl;dr, WB keeps the comics people around for movie/streaming ideas. That's it. Even that's coming to an end when ChatGPT/Grok/Gemini can blitz out 2000 concepts in a single day.

Same dude who pirates comic books. No, the average American is not buying multiple streaming services where all the new content is either shit, antagonistic to their audience or constantly removing content. I only own Peacock as a a streaming service to watch wwe & law and order, yet wwe removed Raw & all upcoming ples/ppvs to Netflix/ESPN. I'm not spending 40 extra dollars in addition to peacock for piecemealing content, I might as well get cable. Richard is either spending backer money & mooching off other people for their Netflix accounts.

I don't disagree, but the problem with updating Wikipedia is they want "reliable sources," and... in case you don't know... Kiwifarms ain't that (have you read our article?). I don't think any of FROG's critics would pass muster.

Like if you wanted to include the Richard Meyer porn crap, they'd basically expect an article from Vice, or the New York Times, and that ain't happening.

Right, I do think it's funny to see an article that's so biased, the GamerGate article is even worse. Well, Wikipedia sucks obviously. I don't want to help them. If anything because their biased article is so out of date, it makes ComicGate sound better than it is.

Wikipedia's GamerGate article is such an obnoxiously compromised agenda-fueled hit piece, it poisons the entire site for anyone who is vaguely familiar with what GamerGate was about. The very first sentence reads like parody, but you know it was written with the most sincere and seething intent all over some nerds who were too mean to games journalists who gave some whore good reviews in exchange for some ass..
