Hi everyone, it's your boy Zach. So yesterday I recorded, I was driving to the doctor's, the 8 Billionth I Hate Purchase Letter Writers video. I was like, I'll spare the world, this is kind of worthless.
But later, I was going through some comments and I saw a tweet by Denise Camp, and I think this one will be more focused, especially since I have less time to make it, in that please stop focusing on failure of others. Just failure in general, just a concept, it is the addiction of the age. So Denise, and that's never not annoying, because you just know his name is Dennis on his birth certificate.
Denise Camp posted a couple days, right wing websites just be out here lying, just making shit up. And you can not like him, you can not like that he calls himself Denise, you can not like that he wears a keffiyeh on a podcast, you can not like that he called cancel culture consequence culture, not like 6 years ago, like 2 years ago he did that. But where is the lie? Where is the lie in what he said? That right wing websites are now just making shit up.
The funniest one is when they put exclusive after it, like lies you made up by their nature are exclusive. But so a guy was talking and he was, you know, he was doing this, there's all these words, you know, statistically improbable, and all of a sudden, you'll see them a lot. And one of the ones you'll see is like, worried, like, I'm worried, I hope not.
And what it really means is I desperately want this to fail, but I'm going to pretend like I don't. Because as I've said many, many times, you guys need to decide if you're these alpha Patriot badasses, or the biggest pussies who ever lived, because you keep flipping back and forth. And you're not allowed to do that.
You got to choose a side. Now you can slowly move from one side to the other. But these guys will flip back and forth within the same compound sentence like it's crazy.
So this guy, you know, we were talking about well, I was talking about they responded. That Marvel isn't going to digital. That's a ridiculous thing that was made up on right-wing websites and YouTube channels, promoted and spread only by them.
And there is no vast left-wing conspiracy to not cover bad news. When they reshot most of Solo, a Star Wars story, it was in the news constantly for months and referred to for years. There is no fake agreement.
Well, this is how the argument goes. Well, it's the access media. If you don't give them good reviews, you don't get access.
No, you can go buy a ticket to review a movie. And then they'll say like, well, they don't get invited to movie premieres if they give bad reviews. How many journalists go to movie premieres? A dozen out of thousands? Yeah, sometimes they have those junkets, but it's one of those theories that sounds good.
But then when you think about it practically, it just makes no sense. Like when they're like, George Bush knocked down the towers. It's like, okay, so you're saying George Bush ordered, I'm guessing, special forces to rig the towers with explosives.
Nobody talked. Nobody got drunk and blabbed about it. And then they're like, well, no, they have people who kill those people.
Okay, so you need the people who blow up the towers. Then you need another group that works 24 hour shifts forever, making sure... What about they go get surgery and they're under anesthesia? Do they go undercover as a nurse or do they just say, oh, we're just going to kill all the nurses? He might've been coming out of anesthesia and said that he was the guy in the West Tower who put the explosives, blah, blah, blah, just stop. Some of these can sound good.
Like I said yesterday, it's very good that circumstantial evidence is not used to convict because in the culture war, it is. You just say random things and like Michael Moore, you make a connection in between them. But they were talking about new comic book fans and they're just repeating stupid shit they heard on YouTube, conservative YouTube channels.
Oh, you know, the new generation, well, they don't read comics and when they do, they pirate them. And when they do buy them, they only buy digital because, you know, they do everything. You know, the kids these days with the hip hop and the 23 skidoo and it's like, no fucker, they don't.
Go on TikTok. You will see hundreds of TikTok channels of people in their 20s and they love back issues. They love the collectability aspect.
Yeah, it's fun if you're in the airport to read a digital comic, but you don't really build a lasting. And then they always go, oh, oh, Japan, ah, manga, anime, yeah, yeah. They never got rid of physical tankoban.
I always hate hearing that word. Just say, just say manga. Yeah, so they didn't get rid of the weekly magazines where they test out the stories.
They didn't get rid of the tankobans, no matter, you know, the whatever, the manga digital experience costs a hay penny, a decade. They're still making physical comics. I was like, you got to stop listening to conservative YouTubers.
They lie all the time. They literally just make shit up. Freaking Geeks and Gamers has created a closed system, a still suit, if you will, except for instead of, you know, just recycling the sweat, it recycles every bodily fluid.
So they have a website, and then they report on the news on their own website. It is completely corrupt. And again, the left-wing mainstream media was the gold standard for corruption.
That's what they were known for. And right-wing YouTubers said, I can beat that. I can be more corrupt.
I will make up shit like this is the National Enquirer. And then all I have to do is say, well, that's what my sources told me. These aren't Pentagon secrets.
Who the fuck are your sources? Have you noticed the sources never decloak? It's never like, oh, I had this guy, he was at Disney, but he just retired, so he's in the comments, he's using his name. No, it's just like that 9-11 theory. Nobody ever decloaks.
Nobody ever lets slip, like, oops, I've been cosmic book news's number one insider source. Nobody ever retires and just uses that to brag. There was this Roman emperor, I forget who he was.
So the Romans were very homophobic. And so he was an emperor, conquered all these lands, got all the tributes. He retired, and he was basically like, oh, by the way, I'm gay.
Not literally. And everyone was like, motherfucker. Nobody ever just retires and says, you know what? I mean, you got the, what was the guy from REM? He quit just to run a farm? Nobody just quits the rat race in Hollyweird and says, oh, by the way, I was the insider source for Geeks and Gamers and Friday Night Tights and Cosmic Book News and all these shitheads.
That's me. They never want to write a book, inside source, tales from within Hollyweird. They never do that, ever, because it's fake.
These guys are making it up, or they are repeating lies that they are, they know they are lies. But it's all built around failure and obsessing about failure and thinking about it, having an entire industry of these doughy 50-year-old men who's like, not for Tuesdays, Supergolf, Box Office, Dairy Bulls, oh, it's going onto videos on demand, they should have listened to me. They should have listened to you? A grown man who complains about Disney Princess movies for a living? Other people should listen to you.
No, they shouldn't. You are a cautionary tale. This is what happens when you never grow up.
This is what happens when you grow a beard to either hide a weak chin, or define a chin that is no longer visible because it's just swathed in blubber. And then, so one guy's like, well, you know, I can see, well, what if a company was failing, it would be a wise move to switch to digital only, no, the fuck it wouldn't. It's like when you're friends, you meet your friends, and they're like, hey, so, um, it's like, I know you're getting divorced.
It's like, no, no, we're not getting divorced. We're getting separated. It's like, oh, okay, so you're getting divorced in two years, because it always follows.
It's like when the store goes out of business, it's like, well, we're, we are not brick and mortar anymore, but we share a ghost kitchen, and we're on the apps, yeah, okay, so that means you're closing down in a year or two. Like, or, or when the comic book shop, oh, we're going out of business, but we still, we're still going to fulfill the pull list. You're going to do that for a year, and then you're going to quit.
There's nothing fun about fulfilling people's pull list, if that's the only thing you do. But so he's like, oh, and I was like, dude, you don't work at Valiant. You don't work at Valiant.
Why are you coming up with elaborate worst case scenarios for a company you don't work for? You never worked for. You never will work for them. And I don't think they have stock.
And then a guy was like, oh, it's, it's, it's natural if you like something to worry about. No, no, it's not. Maybe completely out of context.
You know, if you just go to one place, you're like, oh, this, this is a great burger place. I, I hope I could always get a burger here, this burger. But that's, that's not how life works.
And that's not how it's working right now. You guys aren't just calmly getting worried sometimes. It's an all day long event.
So you just got done hating Supergirl and now you're getting to ready to hate Christopher Nolan's latest movie. And then you're going to hate Lanterns and then you're going to hate Street Fighter. What's on the docket to hate or worry about? What is all this worry? You guys are always worried.
I've done this bit before, but when you bite into a cheeseburger and you go, oh, I'm about to bite, I'm worried. What if it's not the best cheeseburger ever? Take a bite. Oh, that was really good.
Now I'm worried the second bite won't live up to the first. Bro, what, what, what is this? Nations rise and fall, businesses go out of business, relationships end. Are you really in middle age just worrying about the Q3 deliverables in Kuala Lumpur for Valiant? Are you driving right now? What are all the businesses you're driving by? Oh, what, what if that hotel, what if I need to go to that hotel and what if it's, it's not open in five years? I need to know the CEO.
I need to know if they're prompt. No, no, that doesn't happen. That's not a real thing.
That's something that's been pounded into your head by right-wing media. To always be worried about everything, but also think you're a tough guy, but also be scared of everything and celebrate success. So Denise Camp, you know, a stopped clock is right twice a day.
He's a douchebag. But he's not lying. They're just making shit up.
And please stop with the failure maxing, the obsession. And it is an obsession. Like I said, back in the day, you know, it's like premiere magazine.
We knew what movies did good, what movies did bad. We know, we knew Batman did really good. And the adventures of Baron Munchausen did really bad profit wise.
Now plot twist, the adventures of Baron Munchausen is a much better movie than Batman. One of my favorite things, and I'm about to wrap this up, is Tim Burton once gave an assessment of his own Batman movie. And I've never seen an artist give such an accurate assessment of their own work.
He's like, it's alright, it has some good moments and the design stuff is pretty cool, but overall it's boring. I was like, god damn, that is the best description of Batman 1989 ever! That is perfect! Um, but uh, so anyway, it's completely abnormal, unhealthy, to get up every day and focus on failure. To think about failure.
To get excited by failure. And it doesn't matter if a bunch of people did it. I've seen one of the defenses of all this idiocy right now is like, well it's popular.
Okay. Go through human history and look at all the things that have been popular. They are often horrible, horrible things.
Especially when the popular thing is based off of the darker emotions. Hatred, and fear, and envy. And that's what all of this is built on.
Now I still vote pretty much straight ticket Republican because I like a strong defense, I like a strong military, I like a strong economy. That being said, you gotta keep these guys away from culture. They are just absolutely acidic.
Just destroying everything. Just cause they can, or rather because they can't. Most of them have a villain origin story of they wanted to be this, they wanted to be that, and it didn't work out.
What's the guy, Ben Shapiro, you know, he starts, he wants to be a screenwriter. Fails at that, becomes what? A right wing columnist, activist, commentator. Over and over and over again.
If you're Mr. Super Conservative, why aren't you doing conservative things? Why aren't you in the military? Why aren't you in banking? Why aren't you in business? Why are you... Oh, I'm gonna start a studio, and it's gonna be non-woke. I didn't say it was anti-woke, I said it was non-woke. And it's a story about a person who isn't black.
Anyway. Thanks for watching. Bye.
