Pvt Pyle here likes it specifically because Ghost in the Shell was more of a gag manga originally. The original comic was much more comedic than the original run of the anime. So it being unfocused horseshit is actually about on brand for his crippling ADHD. And no that's not me criticizing this show. I'm just pointing out that that's probably the main reason he likes it.

Reminder that comic John Stewart actually cared a lot more and was actually more prone to complaining about race issues. Because his creation at the time was specifically because it was in criticism of Hal Jordan not really caring about black people. Didn't help he had a sidekick called pie face that was an Inuit.

The reason the dcau worked was because it actually boiled down the best aspects of about 50 years worth of comics at the time. It also actually completely reframed a lot of the villains and heroes at the time. Like unironically, Jon Stewart actually is a very good character specifically because they threw out his rougher edges.

This is also the medium that it gave you the modern iterations of most of the Batman rogues which has been ruining comics ever since because they are not capable of actually outdoing them.

I personally hate X-Men 97 because of the idiot behind it wanted to push Magneto and Rogue as a couple and basically had Gambit cuck himself to death. But then again dented dicky doesn't really care about that because this is the same retard that also tries to defend Spider-Man one more day.
