I find it refreshing when a company sends a clear message that they don't want my business.

If they stayed ambivalent about it I might have been tempted to waste more money on them instead of growing my collection of anime body pillows.
 
So got home late tonight and found Earthworm Jim waiting for me. Love or hate Doug Tenapel I gotta give props to above and beyond levels of packaging and presentation. The Shipping Box is itself covered in black and white EWJ comic art. It’s a solid sturdy protective box. Inside the book and other contents are protected by foam and cutout spaces. The book itself is magnificent. And I say that without opening it to read it yet. Gorgeous square bound hardcover with gold edging on the pages. You just don’t see shit like this anymore. A+ Doug.
 
I can't wait to get my book, Doug puts a lot of love and care into those things, Bigfoot Bill looked immaculate for a comic about a goofy Sasquatch and Earthworm Jim is on that level, this was money well spent. He just put out a video of the printing process too for those curious.

 
I just got my copy of Jawbreakers God King in the mail today, and I have to say this looks visually better than anything Marvel has going. I'd say this is the level of some better DC books. I haven't read it yet, and I know D&C is still learning the ropes on this stuff so I give him a pass. But damn this is a good looking book. About the size of a trade with lots of material to look at. Say what you want about comicsgate clownery, at least we have this. I'd pick it up if I saw this on a store shelf. Meyer really needs to pump out more material, even though he's producing more content than all the others at the moment. I think he'd only keep improving.

Read the latests Frank Miller Book. Beautifully drawn but holy batshit this things deranged. I don't even know what the bad guy was trying to accomplish.

Well, its Darkseid, trying to get Trump elected. Because... I mean, I got Joker in DKR, he just wants to fuck shit up because he's evil for the lolz. It just didn't make sense, like, why? The last third of the comic is Darkseid monologuing about anti-life and acting in character. So I don't understand how Trump gets you to that or why and how the Joker is back. Oh, theres a Greta Thunberg cameo for people who care about that thing. I'm sure the usual suspects will get 'triggered' by it.

It's frustrating, because when he's just writing bad guys and good guys punching each other, its really good and the artwork is top notch

Again, Frank Miller is incoherent and insane and likes to spew his opinions from time to time, especially if he touches anything DC due to his creepy Batman fetish. None of this is really new IMO.

Okay, I thought Master Race and Last crusade were coherent, Superman Year One was coherent trash. This, to me, was on a whole other time space continuum bordering on DKSA level bad. Nothing else out this week really wowed me. Bendis is hacking it up on Superman revealing his Secret ID, which Pak and Yang did five years ago, and White Knight is there.

Oh, new video by the autist formerly known as Diversity and comics. Great stuff, I laughed my ass off at how low LOSH was for a number one with all that talent DC threw at Bendis. Captain Marvel is selling well because its the first appearance of her new costume. Speculators.

The presentation is fantastic!
Say what you will about his conduct online, but Doug tries to give his customers the best he can give in a quality product.

Speaking of books... I got my copy of the Ethan Van Sciver approved and promoted "Stealing Solo" today. It seems a particular fat Jersey bald headed sleaze was lying when he said the quality of the art was on the level of Joe Quesada during his livestream. It arrived without packaging and I thought it was one of the many spam Christmas catalogs. The condition is rough and it is unsigned.

However, it did arrive before my copies of CyberFrog and the Ashcans.

Jeff should stick to whining about Star Wars. Don't know why he would jump into making a comic book without knowing jack shit about lettering, printing and shipping a fucking comic.
