It will be entertaining to see if Preston sends Ethan a C&D order for using the TM on YouTube. I don't think Preston would have a case but it'd be entertaining to find out.

My understanding (perhaps one of the farms legal minds could weigh in) is that a C&D hasn't a hope because Frog has been using the term as a commercial enterprise for years already, which constitutes a form of copyright in it's own right.
It's just a low grade derivative troll that will give EVS a cause to rally the troops around, some content for his livestreams and a couple of hundred bucks in superchats. So I guess Preston showed him!

To say opinions on Mitch have been soured is putting it lightly. I recently purchased a copy of Captain America: The Chosen since it was written by Dave Morrell (writer of the original Rambo novel). My excitement was mildly soured when I received the book and saw the art was done by none other than Mitch Breitweiser. The art is pretty good by any standard, but I now just associate it with a guy who basically stole my money and walked away, which is disappointing.

I’ll still back EVS, Doug and Zack’s projects because I got my books and enjoyed all of them to varying degrees. People who don’t deliver like Donal, Andrew Huerta, and worst of all Mitch can go fuck themselves.

Also, Preston trademarking Comicsgate is amazing, and I can’t wait to see the solid week of EVS shitting his pants we’re going to get from it.

Doug was very aptly described as 'Hollywood Doug'.
He was the one that contacted EVS because he wanted to 'learn the ropes of his crowdfunding model. He shmoozed in and grifted the community and then couldn't get out fast enough the second he secured the rights to EWJ.

Doug had been a successful crowd funder when Ethan worked for DC and had never considered doing one. I don't think he needed EVS to "show him the ropes".

The way I heard it told Ethan kept asking Mike to bring Doug into CG because Ethan wanted access to Doug's Hollywood contacts, especially in the animation industry.

Word is Doug didn't want to tarnish his own name with those contacts by recommending the defacto leader (Caesar) of a group of homoerotic LARPing internet trolls rumored to be doxxers, stalkers and general gay porno harassers. I believe the word Doug used was "controversial".

Apparently Ethan didn't like that he wasn't going to be able to use Doug and his contacts which was the whole reason he wanted Doug to join in the first place.

So he ignored the fact Tucci didn't thank him at the same panel that Doug didn't and sperged out about Doug's "lack of gratitude" posting the question "Is EWJ anti-Gay?" to see if he could generate enough controversy to torpedo Doug's property with the licensors out of spite. It also pissed off Ethan that Earth Worm Jim was flying past CyberFrog in sales. Later Ethan apologized on Rekita's stream for trying to fuck over Doug but then justified it and resumed the attacks.

Sure Doug "shmoozed" the CG community. He thought they were mostly like minded conservatives until they turned on him and Mike for expressing conservative Christian beliefs.

I guess walking away when you realize the anti-SJW "movement" you thought you had joined turns out to support the left wing Pride movement against you could be considered a betrayal.....

Doug betrayed ComicsGate when he didn't bow to the SJWs.

Lot's of the best artists are scum bags. It's no reason not to enjoy their previous work. John Byrne is a complete asshole but that won't stop me from enjoying his runs on X-men and FF. I just wouldn't buy anything new that he might get royalties from.

Likewise I expect Mitch's art will still be good in RR as it's fine in the PDF. I might continue to check it out but Mitch won't make another thin dime off me. He can consider it payback for fucking over his supporters.

I don't see any contradiction TBH. I think it's entirely possible that he grifted his way in and is also petty and vindictive enough about the kicking he received on his way out to manipulate the anti's (if he's the social butterfly you claim) to exact some measure of revenge for his 'mistreatment'. Hollywood people are born to schmooze and suck dick, they are also the pettiest and most spiteful people you'll ever meet.

Actually a fair bit of internet drama happened with WC going against Cecil, Malin and Anna. That was barely touched on here. Maybe it's because fewer people than ever care about this shit anymore. But I'd say it has something to do with the fact that, in a "fight" where EVS strictly said he wanted nothing to do with the drama, the same five fags here STILL found a way to bitch and moan about him.

Both threads should have died with Damien/Done.

Liam tried to phone Allegiance Arts but their publicly listed contact phone number has been disconnected. Then they hunted down Kelsey Shannon to see if they could get Mitch's contact info that way. But Kelsey hasn't heard from Mitch in several weeks either so that was a dead end also. After that it was a circumspect condemnation until I asked what was the difference between a "no contact PR policy" and a blockbot that pre-blocks all possible customers? Then things got rolling.

Still, with no other programming planned, there was some skirting around the validity of refunding Mandy Summers' "Wart the Wizard", and around when Liam was just starting to comment on something questionable about its quality, the Preston Poulter copyrighting thing was dumped and everything else was dropped as Liam vowed to fight to see Poulter be sent into the poor house or something.
Then Ro came on to discuss none of that, ominously cautioned Liam that 'saying you'll take someone's money away could be interpreted as a threat' in a way that I don't think anyone else picked up on, ordered the chat to buy Vestige before leaving on correcting the chat that "TUG is not a simp, TUG is a cuck!" followed by a belly laugh.
Then TUG showed up to discuss the Poulter trademark and move past the Ro thing, falling back on his own experience in frivolous trademarking when he did so with "Renfamous". However this was interrupted by Liam's co-host who ambushed TUG on his use of personal information and innuendo to try and blackmail critics into silence, the practice of which TUG greasily defended over the course of an hour.

You forgot the most interesting part of the stream, the last three minutes where Liam's insomnia caused him to chastise Ro and Warcampaign for disrespecting him and questioning his integrity. I've clipped it, goes for about 3 and a half minutes.

Doug crowdfunded and delivered a book. Those are the beginning and end of his obligations. To say he betrayed some nebulous community is autistic. The guy had Reagan Lodge on his show after he was outed as a bad bad terribad (former) white nationalist, meaning he doesn't seem afraid of being associated with controversy. CG is so autistic and radioactive that people prefer the company of ex-white nationalists.

Doug's also had Charls Carroll from MDE on his channel a lot recently, they do a show together called "You Can't get there from here."

I'm mad that Mitch appears to be treating his backers like crap. Having said that, I have a feeling Red Rooster will be delivered. And if you are going on the quality of the product in your hands, I also have a hunch that RR will blow away the absolute garbage that BFB was.

Did you get your backer PDF? I haven't read it yet, only skimmed over it but there was very little action with glaring anatomy and perspective issues. Elizabeth's coloring was very well done though from what I had seen.

He won't, the trademark is for one category and that is comicbooks. Preston would have to trademark online visual media or something similar to mess with Ethans Comicsgate Live videos, which he would lose due to prior use. The comicbook trademark is more sly, since no Comicsgate creator has actually published under the Comicsgate label (except Will Calligan's Gun Ghoul run, while Vox briefly had that CG imprint for Arkhaven.) As far as I know though, no CG creator ever was going to produce under the CG label anyway they produce under All Caps, Splatto, Allegiance etc. So Preston's trademark is more just messing with the rank and file CG paypigs, since none of the creators seem to care outside Liam Gray.

I'm not sure how true this is. IIRC Doug already had quite a few big Kickstarters under his belt before he signed up with CG (at least one for a comic / illustration book and one for a video game)
