So apparently this "Elasi" guy some of you were talking about earlier did a two hour video, and the second half of it concerns me, of all people. The first concerns Captain Cummings.

I am not sure it's worth watching, and the people who I have talked to have all said he's a really autistic.

I clicked on it, watched a little, and judging by how many browser tabs he has open, I kinda gotta wonder that myself.

I mean, Jesus Christ! How many gigabyes of RAM do you need for that many tabs?

TL;DR: Sorry Elasi. Sign up for the Farms if you wanna debate/bant concerning things I post to the Farms. Otherwise...

I watched some of Ethan’s stream last night and people are beginning to get on him about his late book. He got mad and said, “It will get done when it gets done.” He said that he wants to create the book with the story he wants to tell and not cut it short like hie did with Cyberfrog Bloodhoney.

Also Ethan's version of George, Jason Smoot sent him two 200 dollar superchats to get Shane and Cecil on

C'mon. The fact that the video opens with my wonderful prose must mean this is a man of taste and class. 😎

He was efaping Orange Coala's efaps of the efaps he did about him, do you also need a professional evaluation of him being autistic?

He got mad and said, “It will get done when it gets done.”
Have you got a time stamp for that?

I stopped listening to whole streams in early 2019.

First he bitches at a friendly Kiwi @Greed for mild criticism, tells the rest of us we're to critical and he's not going to grace us with his sunshine because we're toxic or whatever and now he's snapping at superchatters?

And it's all about Rekt Planet....

This is getting interesting. I don't think people are annoyed because he's taking his time making the best book he can. I think they're annoyed because 48 pages in around 24 months comes to around a page every two weeks.

Unless he's oil painting the book by hand on canvas it's pretty hard to convince a smart backer that he's putting in the hours.

And he did promise he'd be on time because of how late Bloodhoney was so...

Have you ever considered a private signing/engagement/whatever they call it for CGC? It's the only way to get an authenticated and/or graded signature or headsketch. If you send in a convention sketch or autograph for grading CGC automatically gives it an 8 unless one of their people witnesses it being drawn/signed (don't ask how I discovered that, ugh).

I just got an email notification for this and it made me wonder:

LOL at the prices!
Here's another just announced:

CGC is teaming up with J. Scott Campbell for an exclusive Signature Series graded option for the highly anticipated X-Men #1 AP variant cover. This ultra limited-edition variant will receive a certificate of authenticity granted by CGC with each signed copy similar to what was done previously for King Spawn #1. CGC will have an authorized witness at the signing with Campbell and to further protect the authenticity and security of each signature, advanced measures have been taken so the COA cannot be replicated.

This seems to be for a single issue of a single book, right up the alley for a CG (or any indie) creator. I wonder what would be involved with getting CGC interested in doing this for an indie creator? Surely there's a market for it. It'd be a small market but as these are already limited engagements it seems a small market would be big enough with the numbers generated by crowdfunders and their proven loyalty. I'd like to think regular normie backers wouldn't feel betrayed or whatever to have a slabbed version of certain items as an option only available through CGC and the creators would get the benefit of an immediate payout from a single few-hour sitting.

EDIT: Really, someone explain to me why CGC would say no to a profit-sharing deal for a piece of an addon high-dollar tier being included to a campaign for a CGC slabbed version of the book? What downside would there be for a creator?

I ain't watching his video, so you can probably tell from that I have reached enough of a determination as to his probable autism.

Seriously, he can come here if he wants, and I'll happily engage with him here. I'm not gonna respond to his off-site bullshit concerning my on-site posts off-site. That's just dumb. I already hate using social media as it is.

Also, Testefy, there's more people in this thread than are left in Pangea. You putz.

Just today eight users have commented on this thread. That's a slow day.

But Comicsgaters have gotten their wish. They're so boring Kiwis no longer will care about them so long as they fuck off.

Ah. Tanned, rested and ready to return to Kiwifa...wait, what's this?

Fucking hell. I was only gone for two days, jspit!

The DAILY WIRE does a hit piece on me, Comic Book Hut and his butt-blasted allies are crying in the comments.

A hit piece is a negative piece. That was a fluff piece.

Stop feeding him man. We waz free. We waz freeeeeeee!

Testify was trying to make it that we were only seeing four people. Not even on a slow day is it that low here.

So a Tuesday? How's the Gamergate thread?

It wasn’t adequately fawning. So it’s clearly a hit piece.

I was excited about Brianna Wu getting a tv show about GamerGate, or at least, I was interested in reading former GamerGaters talking about it. But I think it’s died down now.

Back to ComicsGate!

Face it... CG isn't what it used to be.

When WC was doing their faildox, and trying to take down KF, I think Null was probably all like "Oh yeah... we have a CG thread. Last time I paid any attention to that was when that weirdo got pegged."

Fucking hell. I was only gone for two days, jspit!

Because YOU were gone, that Elsai Affairs guy spent an hour of a video on me. ME?! A nobody. And under 200 people apparently had to suffer through it!

This is YOUR fault! Apologize to me and everybody on the Internet now! 🤣

Nearly all of Dynamite's dozens of Indiegogo campaigns had a CGC tier where for a hundred dollars or so your Art Thibert or Frank Cho variant cover can be officially "slabbed". Tyler Kirkham has a CGC tier as well. As for why more crowdfunders don't do it, I'm not quite sure. I could speculate on the margins being low because of the steep take of the CGC grading racket, or the logistics of getting an official grader in your house for your DIY comic fulfillment operation, but it'd just be speculation.

09/10/2021 - COMICARTISTPRO SECRETS - OH YEAH! JUST CHILLIN' ON SATURDAY NIGHT

Yesterday was a glum day for Comicsgate as all of Frog's friends went on Yellowflash's "Flashcast" show for the popular weekly getting angry at clickbait program. Tensions between Yellowflash and Frog, simmering under the surface for years that came to the fore two months ago when Frog went on to Flash's platform to chew him out for leaving Jon "build your platform" Malin high and dry on his launch for Godlike, do not appear to have passed with time. Frog lingered around in Yellowflash's chat to lend support to the gay catbook creator, reminiscent of how Smiller hung around in Frog's chat to lend support to Aaron Lopresti, but it was clear who was invited and who wasn't.

1633905074631.png 1633905138292.png

So Frog had a stay at home stream while Yellowflash underwent the herculean task of presenting Shane Davis to his audience as an 'internet personality', packing it with characters like TSWG to presumably make Shane look more interesting and substantial in comparison. Well played, I say. Over there on the FlashCast youtube skeptic AydinPaladin, who has nothing to do with comics, established herself as the second most knowledgeable on comics on the panel of current and former CGers by actually being familiar with Kenneth Rocafort's work. Davis presumably knows more about comics, but didn't really demonstrate it beyond talking about how Rocafort was his friend and that he vouches for him, as if anyone in YF's audience cared.

Meanwhile, settling in for a quiet night of reading some articles from Bleeding Cool in soy voice and floated the idea of making a separate show for indie creators in addition to the "Comicsgate Kings" show where the 'comic book professionals' like Patrick Thomas Parnell go (lmao), Here Frog learned who his true friends were, the ones that stuck with him even in the face of low-hanging youtube reactionary content. Said chat consisted mostly of people asking where Rekt Planet is, people asking why he is reading Bleeding Cool articles instead of finishing Rekt Planet, dirteater Star Wars Girl asked from the chat what the project Frog's been talking about for the past 3 years is, CG superchat whale Jason Smoot heroically spending $400 to demand Shane Davis and Cecil on the stream (they didn't show up) and most importantly Sketch Therapy. I was also there to support Sketch, which was rewarded by accusing me of being Warcampaign and vowing to block me if any proof comes up. My support of Sketch is unconditional, so I forgive him.

Also, Malin had an toy unboxing video which actually got a laugh out of me.

That Elasi Affairs guy is a tough watch.

In theory, a channel that efaps Liam Gray's content should be very entertaining. But this dude mumbles and slowjams his way through 2-3 hours worth of content, muttering like a guy doing his taxes.

I want him to do BETTER.

Hail Sketch, Comicsgate's true soul.

To be fair, Liam content is very heavy. Fake Cancer, fake family, fake backward comics. It's all allot to sort through.

Stop feeding him man. We waz free. We waz freeeeeeee!
He managed to stay away for almost 4 days. That's more than I thought he'd be capable of to be honest.

Thanks @Mister Dongs, that was even saltier than I'd hoped.

When did Sketch turn on his lord and Caesar? I thought Sketch was "ride or die" with EVS 4LIFE.

I was excited about Brianna Wu getting a tv show about GamerGate, or at least, I was interested in reading former GamerGaters talking about it. But I think it’s died down now.

Awesome. Did you get your bi-weekly Rekt Planet page inked yet?

A promise made is a debt unpaid.

@Mister Dongs

For whatever reason, it won't let me quote you directly so forgive me for tagging you

Yet after a decade of global blockbuster Marvel and DC movie adaptations of comic book IPs... nothing. People who like The Boys on Amazon order the omnibus, they're going to get a complete and accessible story. People who like the latest MCU film go to buy a copy of Iron Man, they get a boring, meaningless, contextless snippet of Patsy Walker scolding Tony Stark for being a cis white male while he mopes in a chair. The writer has to work with the dumbass Hellcat fan fiction/paean to white guilt that preceding creator Dan Slott selfishly used the Iron Man comic as a vehicle for while the artist was picked because he renders characters well but can't do action scenes so it's just 22 ad-filled pages of people sitting in chairs. There's no reason why Garth Ennis' capeshit like The Boys is able to leverage non-comic adaptations but Marvel and DC can't, other than Marvel and DC can't or simply don't want to make accessible material that gives the customer what they want to see.
This is exactly right. I'm not sure what the Avengers comics sales figures have been for the last decade, but I'd be willing to bet they aren't anywhere near the revenue generated by even the first Avengers movie back in 2012, to say nothing of all the Avengers films combined.

I remember a while back I'd quoted a snippet of an article about manga's sales figures destroying that of American comics and the great point someone made about how there was a sense of "cross media continuity" in anime and manga and how the anime helped sell the manga of whatever series by virtue of simply looking like the manga and closely (sometimes exactly) adapting the manga stories. You like a show and want to know what happens next, you pick up the manga where the anime leaves off and you can pretty much follow it without missing a beat.

If you were only familiar with the DC/Marvel characters through the movies, there is very little there to interest you. The stories aren't direct adaptations, the characters look and act differently in many cases. It's almost like they have zero interest in selling the comics that made the characters popular in the first place. It's too late to make the films more like the comics and making the comics too much like the movies will probably draw the ire of the target comic audience (who always talk shit about changes but never seem to stop buying, sort of like the FNT crew). The MCU should have ushered in the greatest boom in comics sales among normies since Batmania, but it completely shit the bed and there's zero excuse for it. MCU fans would rightly perceive the comics as fucking boring and preachy and they'd be right. MCU may be formulaic and they don't get everything right but the movies are a damn sight more fun than the comics have been in at least a decade.

When did Sketch turn on his lord and Caesar? I thought Sketch was "ride or die" with EVS 4LIFE.
It was during the post-Warcampaign glasnost where Frog very belatedly concluded that a self-appointed purity testing force that constantly meted out accusations of 'treason' was not a net positive for Comicsgate. Sketch Therapy was also against WC at the time, before Frog or nearly all of CG, but his reasoning was a lot more straightforward: JDA, Nasser, Smiller and Tim Lim were traitors, and in time it was revealed that Ro and Pan and Gat were also traitors in a completely natural procession of rico act infiltration delarroz discord modafoqa. Back then, Sketch was definitely "ride or die".

Then Frog began reaching out to outcasts like Nasser, JDA and Mike S Miller and offered a public cessation of hostilities on his part and, ideally, the beginnings of a very slow reconsolidation of a fractured movement. From Sketch's perspective, amnesty to traitors makes zero sense and the gradual reacceptance of people like Nasser and friends of Smiller like Aaron Lopresti is maddening.

edit: Speaking of, Warcampaign Black Dragon Comics launched the Hanzo/Ball collaboration Bulletmaker today:
