Thanks, I do remember seeing that one last week and did also add it to my Watchlist but as a Buy-It-Now it's not ending soon so it wasn't on my immediate radar. The guy in my example made a couple rookie mistakes that cost him: he says he opened the box to take pics AND he added the headsketch to his original order which makes it an Executive Box variant (and is a thing now since I just typed it on the interwebs). He should've ordered the headsketch separately so it wouldn't have been shipped in the ExecBox. Oh, and he misspelled 'complete' in the listing's title which turns some people off.

If I may make a suggestion: next time maybe ship any add-ons separate from the collector box? I'm pretty sure you can afford it.

Your example has/had three for sale in the same listing, all still sealed and no headsketch add-on. The first sold on Aug 4 but at an undisclosed price ('Make Offer', presumably less than the $450 list). He's also turned down quite a few other offers. The lesson here is that if you have one to sell be prepared to have it listed a pretty long time as a Buy-It-Now, hopefully from an impulse-buyer watching a livestream where it's mentioned. Bidding auctions are NOT the way to go.

In them, Spectre makes claims about all the stuff he added, or made suggestions to add, in Dean's reply brief to the court. Null has opined that he thinks that the Dean claims are the worst of the stuff he's un-deleted (62 posts, site-wide, in all).

Before everybody starts flailing their arms around in the air, please note that this is PROBABLY fine because Spectre exaggerates the shit out of everything (read his thread OP and the increasingly bizarre claims unmasked in the thread, including killing two people, being a hero at the Boston Marathon Bombing, and being a Captain the Marine Corps), but the point is being made that Spectre is a fucking idiot for bragging about helping Dean write a reply to the court. Please do NOT do this to people being sued by scum like PP and JL. That would be true regardless of the scope of the help rendered, if any. Over on Sargon's "Podcast of the Lotus Eaters" they had a discussion about the new gay Superman and the state of Western comics in general, including Kelly Sue DeConnick's framing of Captain America as "literally" an SJW, as well as a bit about Comicsgate and @TheCosmicWarrior being banned from Worldcon a few years ago and his "history of trolling and harrassing". The hosts regard JDA as "absolutely based" and also a "chad".

The funnybooks are for teenagers first and foremost. For better or for worse, zoomers like this sort of thing. This is like catnip for female nerds in particular, which the big two have been trying to court for some time (with debatable sales results.) Also note the explosive popularity of the Batfamily series on Webtoon, a platform where the majority of readers are female. They really want chicks to buy capeshit, and it looks like they willing to do that by whatever means necessary, and that includes pissing off "established fans."

People are really overreacting to this. It's not Superman, it's his son Jon, who's only been around for like six years. People are squawking about how the big two need to make new gay characters instead of changing the sexualities of established ones, but I wouldn't describe "kid who was created six years ago" an established character. Clark Kent is still straight and they're obviously still going to make comics about him. Jon isn't even "coming out" in the main Superman title-- it's in his own side series, Son of Kal-El.

Del Arroz has nice art and it's a shame he got blacklisted, but what the hell did he expect would happen? It's just like any other job-- your employer has you by the balls, and if you piss off the wrong people (in this case by talking trash about them on a publicly visible forum) of course you're going to get sacked. In publishing and the art industry, the trajectory of your career is unfortunately determined by whose asses you kiss and who you make friends with. If all being an artist took was talent, there would be a hell of a lot more of us, but the fact of the matter is that editorials also want yes-men. Be the change you want to see: if you're tired of the nonsense that goes on at big publishing houses, then support small publishers and self-publishing artists.

You would think with all the "success" in comicsgate and all those hundreds of thousands of dollars rolling in, that certain people might take up a collection for him among themselves. Just enough money to get him basic legal representation. There is at least four names I could think of who based on their campaigns should easily be able to do it together with no real financial pain. Or at least use their streams to do a fundraiser for him. Or just one of them could do a small NFT and probably raise more than enough money to solve Dean's attorney problems for the next six months.

And if nobody will do that, someone should have enough of a conscience to get him in touch with someone better than spectre who would help him pro-bono with at least reviewing & proofing his submissions without representing him.

The problem here, I think, is that after the Vic Mignonia thing, and the Ya Boi Zack thing, people might be a bit more guarded about bankrolling Internet lolsuits. With respect to CG specifically, I maintain Meyer kinda borked things up on that front. Mind you, this one is different because Dean is currently playing defense.

I kept the names vague deliberately to avoid calling out people personally. My opinion is that certain people have made alot of money off comicsgate and this is a situation where several of them should give back. I'm sure every one of them can find lots of reasons not to do it, but its the right thing to do. A few thousand dollars each would do it.

It would be better to find someone familiar with the law of that particular federal circuit, but any competent help from an attorney he gets will be better than no help at all.
