Liam had a very special episode from the Conquest Shed, broadcast from the dark. Parsing together Liam monologues is always difficult, but I'll try to recap

  1. Liam alleges that someone took an ad out on Gumtree, the Australian Craigslist, to spraypaint "Comicsgate" or "Comicsgay" on Liam's curb. A "older hippy woman" showed up and did this task. Liam mercifully let her off the hook after hearing a sob story, which he now regrets.
  2. This mercy was indeed misplaced as the older hippy woman returned as Liam's stepchildren were having a sleepover with their friend, yelling about how Liam was Comicsgate and a "racist homophobic kiddy-diddler" and generally went TUG's mailbox on his lawn and screamed at him
  3. Liam was talked into further mercy by the missus instead of "caving this cunt's head in with a cricket bat". He threatens that he's gone through 3 computers and routers beyond count and there's only so far a man can be pushed before he can't be held responsible for what happens.
  4. Chat regular Jack Stafford shows up to finger Nasser as the "CG Hitman", an unknown Comicsgate creator alleged by Leroi to be going around silencing critics of late books with their dox. Liam accepts this information without question and adds on how all the shit Leroi talked about how everything he and Ody accomplished was on Frog's back.
  5. Liam then broods on how he's persecuted for defending himself, then musing on being betrayed by the treacherous Ody, who was "like my own son".
  6. This segues into a disconnected evoking of various well-worn Liam 'comfort topics', like the American independent spirit, the value of perseverance, and Liam's self-narrative of rising from crushing poverty of the 'south side' of Grafton and moving two miles away to the north side.
  7. Liam spends a half hour in freeform association as Liam talks about old Atari games, how the new Masters of the Universe sucks now and personal gripes like how the missus' kids want namebrand clothes and how this crass materialism makes Liam angry,
  8. Liam then alleges his stepdaughers were DM'd animated gifs of him having sex with a black woman and muses on the day he will fly over to America and sue all these people.
  9. A brief break is held to promote Wonder Island
  10. Liam talks about how he's enjoying F is For Family with Bill Burr and Ninja Robot, how RagingGoldenEagle was the one guy who stuck with him and everyone else wasn't a real mate,
  11. A final hour of freeform venting of resentments against Comicsgate

In related news, CG incel RagingGoldenEagle's channel was terminated by Youtube earlier today for anime titties, or possibly the CG Hitman.

Liam has called up his good friend The Quartering to see what can be done to restore his one true pal's channel back. Has Hambly ever heard of Liam? Probably not.
An extended gay-op trip to Australia would explain Nassers prolonged absence here so I'm OK with believing it. Liam has cracked the code!

zack dropping the lawsuit against waid delegitimized the whole 'comicsgate' thing a bit, maybe the lawsuit was unwinnable but he should have pushed through imo

Lawsuits will either wreck you financially, mentally, and/or emotionally.
I bet it that he couldn't continue financially.

ComicsGate was something when it was Zack making videos making fun of shitty comics, and the early IndieGoGo campaigns sticking it to “the man”.

Got old real quick with 7 hour livestreams and a bunch of infighting between uninteresting mostly untalented people.

Cecil is the jester to EVS's court.
Also his persona is probably a way to let loose some steam.
His mask is a good indication that he ether has passive income tied to his reputation or some consulting job and cannot afford to be outed. Or have members of his family outed.
I would not be surprised if, on his day to day life, he is a sharply dressed considerate professional person.
I believe he is well off but does not have "fuck you money". Probably comes from a family of stockbrokers/investors and his "fall from grace" is either some exageration of his past OR a story he has seen one too many times.

But he has way too much time to livestream for somebody working full time and probably does not worry about money and clearly knows about economics

Also, I would not be surprised if he is YBZ's stockbroker/investor friend who taught him everything he knows...
Cecil alluded on stream before that zack thought he was a fucking weirdo lmao.. jesting of course, it was the jack show.
But zack is.. the odd one here.

I enjoy the making fun of Liam streams, there has been no good streams of late and I found it weird everyone has backed off ridiculing him.
He's quite possibly the lowest hanging fruit in all of CG. I think the novelty has worn off. His swan song of tard-cum production was probably when he published Xenotype backwards and Ody told him to fuck off. That's also when I think it became clear he wasn't going anywhere worthwhile and is therefore largely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

Honestly, he'd probably get more attention if he was involved in something that had broader appeal, but CG just doesn't do it for most people. Like I said, @Smug Freiza did a beautiful OP for his thread. It's just that his main connection is to CG, and few newcomers can be arsed to unbundle the massive pile of autism that CG has become. I honestly can't really blame them, either.

Zack dropping the lawsuit certainly delegitimized Zack, and I think it I think it caused him to go little cuckoo bonkers crazy.

But probably the worst thing it did was delegitimize the idea of crowdfunded lawsuits. At least within the context of CG. Dean barely got more than a grand for his legal defense against Preston. To be sure, D&V have made a lot of enemies in CG, but the patriarch of CG is also being sued by the same cuck, for the same reasons, and it's not like Preston is anything other than a litigious enemy of CG. Especially in the light of the TM bullshit.

Overall, I suspect the very lukewarm response to all this is partially "collateral damage" from Zack's failed lawsuit.

Lawsuits will either wreck you financially, mentally, and/or emotionally.
I bet it that he couldn't continue financially.
Hopefully. That's the more understandable of the three.

I think you guys are missing the forest for the trees: the answer that makes the most sense is that Cecil is also a trust fund baby like Preston, which is why he was able to sus out Poulter's financial arrangement so quickly.
Cecil mentioned on some stream awhile ago that he lost his stockbroker (?) license for some illegal maneuver that nonetheless ended up making money for all involved. Of course that could be complete bullshit/kayfabe/whatTheFuckEver, so take that with a grain (or block) of salt.

For his cronies to have made money on his illegal maneuver would also mean someone else lost the same (or larger) amount. There's a buy for every sell. Just because he didn't know those people doesn't make it OK.

YBZ has dwindling comicbook sales and a youtube channel that is stagnant, yet he had enoygh money to invest in stocks and was planning for trips etc. Makes one wonder where this money came from...

Also, yesterday YBZ made the YBZiest video ever,
12 minutes of yammering about whatever like he had a stroke 30 seconds into the video.

Been gone for a while. Recently heard a rumor that IDW is letting go/losing the GI Joe license in the next year.

Has YBZ talked about this at all? I immediately thought of him coming up with some hairbrained scheme to get the funds to acquire the license.

Haven't heard him mention it, but if he is in such a deal he might not be able to announce it yet. I think he definitely has the love and knowledge of lore to do it, but not sure if he has the capability… hopefully he has learned his limitations and doesn't try to do it all himself. (Of course this is all presuming he did indeed somehow pick up this license in the first place.

What’s up with JSG? He’s been acting like a real leaking asshole lately.
Idk where else to ask this, so I hope he’s talked about here occasionally.

Sometimes. Last I heard JSG was getting suspiciously mad over people talking about the "we're coming for your children" song from the San Francisco Gay Choir and on some right wing SJW horseshoe theory shit. Has he been up to any other dumb shit lately? Inquiring minds want to know.

JustSomeGuy can't really hold a candle to the current crop of Liam streams though. Today's episode: a disheveled and manic Liam in a tanktop uses a rusty shovel to hunt a snake in his backyard during a windstorm.

Yesterday Dan Shahin brought on Steve Geppi, founder and owner of Diamond Comic Distributions. Until last year, Geppi enjoyed an effective monopoly on all delivery of comic books both nationally and internationally since 1992. Things have not improved for Geppi since his appearance on Shahin's channel when he declared in front of several publishers also on panel that "our comeback will be stronger than our setback". This did not prove to be the case. After shutting down operations during the initial COVID lockdowns on the basis that delivering comics to shutdown stores was a financial burden neither store or he could afford, DC used this chance to terminate their exclusive distribution deal with Diamond. Marvel followed suit shortly thereafter. Finally, Diamond was the victim of a nasty ransomware attack which shut down operations for weeks and no doubt left comic stores looking elsewhere for stock. This last setback may be related to the septuagenarian Geppi's public thirst tweets for camwhores, as dutifully reported by Rich Johnston.

There are still a great deal of publishers and shops that stick with Geppi from decades of personal loyalty, but the downfall of Diamond Distibution from its decades-long monopoly status signals a tectonic shift in the comic industry landscape that nobody really knows where it will lead to. In any case, Geppi would prefer to skip that and instead talk about his latest activities like how his donated comic collection is now being presented in the Library of Congress, but Shahin cheerfully keeps steering thee conversation back to topics he finds more interesting, like Geppi's life's work of 40+ years being left in complete shambles. Geppi agrees that comics are doing better than ever, so well that he uses the chance to announce his newest business venture: brokerage for fractional NFT purchases. It's as if the comic book industry is sinking like the Titanic, and one man - Smiller - is showing them the way with garish monkey jpegs. An NFT lifeboat, if you will.

Shahin closes the interview by happily proclaiming that comics are doing better than ever and he challenges anyone viewing to come on his show and prove to him otherwise. Better for everyone except Steve Geppi I guess.

Our boy Edwin was spotted the other day by Ian Miles Cheong. Come to think of it, he has been awfully quiet lately..

I have to imagine G.J. Joe is a VERY expensive license. WAY more expensive than his lawsuit with Waid.

Oh... wait, you said "harebrained." As in won't work? Yeah, maybe. Goes without saying he shouldn't bother.

I don't even think @FROG could raise the capital to buy it. He's "Comicsgate successful," but not "let's buy mainstream properties successful."

I don't think anyone would give a mainstream property to comics gate after Expendables. That should of made bank but was slept on and half assed and I'm pretty sure late.

Regardless there would be no money in that licence. You own zero rights to toys or merchandise etc.

I mean, you never know how much Hasbro would charge for the licensing because corporate greed. But GI Joe as a brand is pretty much on life support right now. I honestly can't see any actual publishing house try to acquire the rights. The movies have all been critical bombs and if they even broke even they just barely did. The toyline was on hiatus from around 2015-2020. And even then, it's basically been reduced to a re-release line exclusive to southern Walmarts and a Marvel Legends style 6 inch line that is already starting to clog shelves.

The funniest thing is how GI Joe is basically a "boomer" property now. It's propped up by a handful of 40-50 year old autists who are *really* out of touch. They're the types that think if GI Joe "just went back to how it was in the 80's" it'd be the biggest thing ever again.

I've even seen a group of them float the idea of rallying the remaining fanbase together to pool their resource in order to acquire the license, but they all get disillusioned at the idea of publishing. When I mentioned Comicsgate and other crowdsourced comics and graphic novels they had no idea what I was talking about lmfao.

While I don't think Meyer would be able to afford (he's still living in his friends guest room, right?) or acquire the license, it'd be such a match made in heaven and would probably produce a ton of laughs. I could possibly see it being a way for him to make a quick buck outside his dwindling fanbase if he could get it, since the few GI Joe autists that are left seem to be willing to buy anything since I've seen some of them praising the Bisexual GI Joe that released a year or so ago as being "not that bad".

I wonder if Cecil is thinking that he can pull a Kyle Ritter and just be so incompetent that EVS has to come bail him out by publishing it under All Caps?
When I mentioned the possibility twice, he said, "Yes, we need to talk about that." So perhaps, but we're very busy publishing and fulfilling our own campaigns.

We since haven't talked about it. But I'd love to get that project published and into people's hands.

That's not how it works. You don't "buy a mainstream property." You present the licensor with a plan for how much money you believe you can generate using their property, and they either agree or don't agree. Either way, you're stuck paying them what you proposed in most cases.

Zack getting EXPENDABLES wasn't a matter of handing over a pile of cash to Stallone. There was an implicit agreement that whatever amount of money Zack and Dixon raised would be satisfactory to Stallone.

Unless I'm making toys and apparel, I don't want to be in the G.I.JOE business. Even then I wouldn't be interested. Companies like IDW and DARK HORSE that work with established IPs they're borrowing start way behind the eight ball. Zack and I have already shown that we can generate interest in properties that we create ourselves. There's no need to invest in some burned out 80's Hasbro legacy.
