First, wouldn't surprise me if EVS makes more from paypiggies via superchats and YouTube adbux than via what is actually sold in terms of books and merch. If I were somehow in that role, I'd find it hard to walkway from such a cash flow, so I can't criticize him for not doing it, either.

Second, the old "Build a better mousetrap, and the world will beat a path to your door," quote (attributed to Emerson) might have been true at some point or another but nowadays? Nowadays you have to shill to get people's attention or you get buried under the 80 million people doing it. Look at how YBZ's comics have been doing lately. And, OFC, how much better EVS's "mousetrap" is than any of his competitions is certainly an open question.

Thing is, to your point, he probably should do LESS of them. Assuming he wants to actually keep putting out comics. If he just wants money, sure, do Youtube. Less effort and overhead. I do believe that EVS spent a lot of his career on social media trying to be some sort of a "radio host" - he was running his facebook page this way back when Richard C. Mayer was trolling the people calling him out for lapsed comissions.
He could easily be waffling to the camera for 20 minutes a day, send it to an editor and then spend the rest of the day drawing and running his business. That would bring more eyes on him and he could generate more sales. His Fagdom Menopause era videos where a joy to behold compared to Cucks+Coomsters because he does have a boomery quirky wit that is unique.
He clearly does not want to do this, instead he is more into a "radio host" program for him, with his comicbooks being an underlying theme of the show.

I'm sure it does provide him some nice walkin' around money but he doesn't act like he takes it seriously as a revenue stream, at least not ad revenue. No clue what his superchat situation is like but he just doesn't seem to value that much either or else he wouldn't be pumping the brakes on the streams so hard ("CG Kings is ONLY for mainstream comic books artists" while only having time for 1 dedicated weekly stream). That could be all show so as to avoid having to compete with people many of whom (a) are doing significantly better at the YouTube game and (b) hate his guts and/or it could be in furtherance to his commitment as a Comic Book Artist by trade and not a Faggot Sitting in a Virtual Dunking Booth by trade. If conscious or unconscious, I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't simply a whole lot of self-sabotage in the YouTube part of his operation to keep the whole thing in check. I could be wrong (and feel free to correct me @FROG) but I don't think EVS likes YouTubers very much and doesn't particularly want to be one (and least not as it concerns his ego and self-image). As you suggest, it could likely be perilously easy for him to slip into becoming one in practice because of the money, leading to an inevitable reality check and identity crisis as he would then be looking up to Jeremy Griggs and the Felonious Goat Man for mentoring and networking.

The problem with all of this is that it's led him to negging (and thanks to JACK Show retardation, Cecil, Anna thottery, FM drama, etc. - scandalizing) his audience/customers in ways that are almost certainly unintentional, to say nothing of the fact that he's behind the 8-ball on Frog Books. High cotton for us, to be sure, but what of the morale of the masses?

Setting boundaries, being disciplined, and making sure that the content he's a part of making is consistent/aligns with his (often) stated values is critical because most (tee hee) people sitting in on multiple 3-hour+ livestreams per week are making an emotional investment and he's inviting that investment. I'd imagine doing that with Comicsgate Kings is easier and safer due to the fact that they're all pros like him and the cast is largely dull as dishwater, thus not likely to make waves. It's probably also much more like work than sitting in on a JACK Show or popping on for a drawing stream that he may or may not keep up. I'd imagine he doesn't want it to be like work. He wants it to be easy and fun with no commitment. I just personally would not want those "investments" that I've courted to sour. No pressure though, Frog Merchant.

My issue with Perch doesn't have anything to do with a "CG autism side" and everything to do with his tiresome framing of all issues as opposing sides within a crude dialectic and weaseling himself and his low-hanging takes (and implicitly the viewers that agree with him) as "le enlightened centrist verdict on the side of comics" or whatever like so much Sargon of Akkad.

Like Sargon, the problems set in when Perch starts touting often extremely weak and flawed arguments as the distilled truth and synthesis from these opposing forces, for instance when he was tossing around the purely semantic-fuelled take that "I think western comics are doing great because I choose to include children's graphic novels and manga as western comics". Additionally, Perch refuses to consider his conclusions as arguments themselves and thus subject to the same dialectical process he frames others' positions in, and will resort to ignoring, vaguebooking and blocking anyone who questions any of these shaky contentions of his with the laughable justification that he is "drama free". I understand the appeal Perch has for people who don't want to take sides or participate in pointless arguments or factions, but until he steps up beyond the mighty stance of vaguebooking Comic Book Hut I wouldn't expect others to starting lauding him as a bastion of intellectual integrity any time soon.
