It wasn't even a full year ago that 499 (the closest analogue to Is This You?) was able to gross 40,000 within 48 hours. After losing 90-95% of his backers from 2018 over the past three years, Meyer runs a survey of his remaining audience and finds that 'only' a sizeable minority of them find his blowing off fulfillment dates unacceptable, which actually indicates that even now he's not done bleeding backers. After all, there's no guarantee that the customers currently tolerating delays won't lose their patience in the future. The only question is if the loss rate is increasing or decreasing, which would require the same survey being taken over different point in time to answer. Instead of taking this as a sign for alarm, Meyer shrugs and declares "good news, not many seem to care about due dates so I'll just keep on doing what I'm doing". It'd be pitiful if the person in question deserved it.A couple of those that jumped out at me started with the assertion that the polls didn't just involve fans. Maybe I have a boomers idea of how youtube works, but does the platform show your community posts to anyone except your subscribers?
In other news:
Marvel variant cover artist and whisper network enthusiast Mark Brooks has been taking a shellacking online, with many videos and tweets questioning how a SJW Disney employee that champions gatekeeping could consider themselves "punk". But he has made a powerful ally after earning CG's ire: Liam Gray.
In the above video, Liam lauds Brooks' ability to survive in a tough industry by the merit of his work and that him being able to do so doesn't make any less of a real punk. Liam follows with an impassioned speech against those who would seek to exclude other within a movement and that the comics community was strongest when people came together and didn't purity test one another. Which... yeah.
This defense though did not go unnoticed, or unappreciated:
Liam has extended an invitation for Brooks to go on his show. Will he accept? Stranger things have happened in Comicsgate (but not much).
In other other news,
The ongoing revelations regarding exposed MGTOW alpha masculinity coach Jack Murphy are overlapping into Comicsgate, with (the godawful) Lil' Chad, penned by a CG-adjacent member of Murphy's "Liminal Order", now furiously purging all of its many inclusions of the pegging and cuckoldry enthusiast.

This isn't to say that everyone was turning on the chad masculinity scribe just for writing the most explosive lolcow in recent memory into comic. Let he who was without connection cuckoldry cast the first st- it was TUG. Of course it was TUG.

Will there be a Lil' Chad/LUG crossover in the future? There could be entire shared continuity for what I call the Grifterverse line of crowdfunded children's comics.
