Seeing that he idolized Paul Newman and was pretty knowledgeable about older comics, I’d imagine @Newman’s Own to be somewhere in his late 50’s or 60’s. I looked at his last post and I found that it was pretty odd that he would stop posting all of the sudden. He’s taken breaks before but never for this long and he never misses a chance to go at EVS. It felt like he had more to say, since this was during the time Nerdette wanted a debate with EVS.

Like I just got done saying earlier this month, I doubt Liam has the balls to try shit with Kiwifarms, and even if he did, it would fail and backfire spectacularly.

He kind of already did. He had an account here a while back and would respond to every accusation with utterly massive amounts of text. At the time he was attempting to defend himself against puppy killing and mother beating accusations, poorly if I might add. He was banned after about a week for making back-to-back posts the length of the script of Hamlet.

Oh, I do. I think I've even seen snippets of it. I've never known you to lie.

While Dong's summary of Live With Liam is absolutely accurate, there's periphery context that makes it even funnier. At the time, Liam hadn't really done anything antagonistic and he was basically known as the funny orange guy in the suit who would occasionally appear on Frogs call-ins. There was this sense that Liam had to be treated with kiddie gloves and no one wanted to directly criticize him because he just seemed like a harmless superfan.
So when he randomly went and created a stream for people to hash out their differences and it had some success, the attitude among the main guys was basically "way to go Liam!" This slowly turned into "uhh...Liam?" as it became clear that this mediation chamber was really more of a shark pit, and finally "so uh...we need to talk about Liam" as Live With Liam became the single biggest source of strife and drama CG had dealt with since the Fall of Rome storyarc.
The slow transition of mild enthusiasm to muted horror was pure comedic gold. I really believe it's one of the main causes of Liam's current insanity; the feeling that he was doing everything right and getting approval from all the right people and then suddenly everyone just turned on him. He's not smart enough to understand how much damage he was actually causing, so to him it probably just seemed like CG just randomly disowned him.

Though I would say Nasser may have lost his use as a scapegoat since lately he has been quiet and actually working on his comic.

Never underestimate the weird infinite hatred the average CG'er has for Nasser.

What I'm referring to is that Liam's actions are endemic of a much larger problem that the Internet faces. Which is that a lot of large commercial upload sites rely on automated takedown systems to satisfy their DMCA obligations. Such systems are ripe for abuse, and Liam is notorious for abusing them with abandon.

Here, if you want something taken down, for whatever reason, you have to e-mail Null, and he is notorious for telling most people to fuck off when they do that.

What this boils down to is Dongs should just vomit up everything here, or in the Liam thread. Liam ain't gonna do shit, and it likely wouldn't work even if he did.

Props to everyone for watching these 5+ hour long streams, I can't watch any of this shit anymore in full, even as background noise, they are so fucking boring. The whole "format" is just a bunch of people rambling about nothing, except basically none of them are entertaining or interesting for that long. Especially flashcast, god that stuff is so boring I don't know why anyone pays for that nonsense.

FlashCast is relatively painless to stalk as a quick glance at who is sitting in the dunking booths is a pretty good indication for the potential for drama, moreso than EVS and many others who do large panel streams. It's also a crossover "neutral party" for factions who exist in estrangement, with the potential constituent members' relations ranging at times from slightly awkward to outright hostility. I also like YellowFlash as he reminds me of a motorcyle riding drunk uncle who just got into anime for some reason.

The longform superchat-harvest streams are only growing, though, and becoming simultaneously dumber and more cynical and I'm not sure what that portends for the future. I know I miss a lot and a lot is being missed. I also know that when something called "The Simpcast" becomes a thing (streamed AND 'premiered' on YouTube for double the simpbux harvesting!) with the full support and endorsement across all corners of their accursed lands, then at least for me it edges closer to the time I sat down to make a fun collection of Alex Jones clips and had to quit within a day or so not because Jones isn't a spectacular treasure or there wasn't enough material but because there was simply too much. It was overwhelming. I fear that for every entrant who springs forth with the right mix of sincerity and absurdity there are four more who figure out that the way to "win" is to lean-in to and expand their own faggotry while at the same time exploiting their own paypiggies. Kill 'em with "kindness." Cows all the way down, sort of .

This is a Friday night drunken stream @FROG did. At one point, famous artist Dale Keown gets drunk and acts like a high school cheerleader who drank a 6 pack of Smirnoff Ice. Im talking drunk cry/laughing and snotting. Frog being the friend he is made sure to full screen it for laughs. Guess it pays to have friends like that. Mandy, also pretty drunk, made everything alright though, Frog fullscreened her while she showed her bikini top that she was wearing to cheer Dale up. Why do you think he keeps @NasserRabadi13 and @TheCosmicWarrior around, they are his emergency scapegoat stash. Though I would say Nasser may have lost his use as a scapegoat since lately he has been quiet and actually working on his comic.

When he popped up the way he did, I was horrified by it was too late. The only thing to do was laugh and try to save the moment with Mandy's boobs.

I'm streaming solo more and more frequently, lately.

I'd say harassing me for 3 days for the crime of joining a discord server is a "bad look". Calling somebody a racist, sexist, anti-Semitic, homophobic nazi bigot is a bad look. And demanding women give you attention (especially when you're "happily" married) to the point of harassing them for a week for not responding to your chats in a live stream is a bad look. It was also a bad look when you deleted your Twitter because Zack told you to stop harassing Piper and you had a temper tantrum about that. And losing your shit because I dared to unfollow your boring account on Twitter is a bad look.

Didn't see it mentioned, but Zack finally put up his new IGG double feature campaign. No video embedded in the page - he did make one on his youtube channel - and just a few paragraphs of text and two pictures to describe the books. There's a good line in here though that gave a chuckle:

"But IRON SIGHTS is a border shoot'em up and IMPOSSIBLE STARS is about an alien empire quarantining humanity to our solar system! What could they possibly have in common?"

The campaign will also only run for a whopping 9 days which raised some eyebrows.

User name relevant. The CG pitch was you could make your own book, sell your own book to people online not cockblocked by SJW gatekeepers, and make more money than you could at Marvel and DC. But in those cases you're running your own campaign, you drew your book, you sell the book, you fulfill the book, etc.

Once we come to artists for hire, then no, that was never a CG pitch. People can and probably do pay established pros with a history of successful work well, but if you're an indie artist with no history of success looking to draw someone else's book but asking for batman page rates and above, that has nothing to do with CG.

Why should they abandon big SJW companies? Working on their own IPs, like frog and others have been talking about forever.

So you remembering is mostly you talking out your ass. Nobody should or is going to pay an indie artist with no history of high quality work super high page rates, and it has nothing to do with the CG pitch.

If said artist is interested in creating their own IP and selling their own book, that's the CG thing. Otherwise they're just working for someone else who is putting in the work to sell the comic, fulfill, establish (or has already established) credibility with the community/potential customers, etc which is also big work and in most cases the guy hiring has an established name that actually does sell the book. If they expect to get a page rate under those circumstances, they're just work for hire. If they negotiate not getting a page rate for a % of profits that is a potential hilarious conflict later (when Donal Delay steals the money and runs) but at least more along the lines of what CG is talking about.

You don't get to come in as a nobody, take no risks, and get a page rate more than the big 2, because there's nobody in the world looking to do business with someone like that.

If the reply is "well you're making enough money to pay me more", then go do it yourself and make the money yourself. It's not so simple to do, or establish credibility, etc.

As to the point of this post, as a creator I've been privy to things not seen on YT streams or Twitter spats. I've had my views of legit heat between creators in DMs (the ones I am no longer a part of, of course) I can definitely attest to the self entitled nature many of these creators have. The market wants what it wants. You may think you're worth 250 a page as an artist but if you're only being offered $50 a page, that is what you're worth. It's better to make $50 as an artist a page rather than $0 and be ghosted into the CG netherworld, never to be heard from again.

Also. many creators come into CG gung ho, thinking they're ripe for that elusive 50k mark but don't realize you're either in it for the long haul, or expect disappointment. I am totally in agreement with @FROG regarding making your own platform and building for yourself. There is a long term reward to having your own sphere who follow you because you've earned their time and attention rather than borrowing fans who are only invested in you due to a temporary recommendation. Creators need to have fun and enjoy the ride. The money will come if you do the rest.

I don't print regular comics in China. I don't know if they have paper shortages there, but shipping delays in general are horrendous. You can anticipate waiting 4+ months from when it hits the water to when it's delivered to your warehouse. So I use China to make things that are absolutely unaffordable to make in the USA, like the action figures and the Salamandroid Mega Mugs.

We'll print REKT PLANET in either the USA or Canada, and deal with the paper shortage by shopping around for the best bids.
