Shit I found far more heinous than anything the likes of Comic Book Hut could ever muster. Only weak claims of total ignorance are supplied, that we're expected to take on faith alone, that that didn't constitute a PR war against a competitor at all. I can't imagine anyone on the receiving end of that would have any reason to believe an excuse like that any more than one would Tim Lim's protestations of innocence. And Lim didn't even fire up a livestream consisting of derisive laughter and sealioning calling Frog a faggot crybaby idiot liar by way of a response.

Whether he likes it or not, whether true or not, by his willing indifference (if not participation) to the conduct of his personal army he cultivated and regularly undersigned, Frog's image outside of Comicsgate has been and for the foreseeable future will be that of someone who raised up dozens of Comic Book Huts, and enjoying all the ill-will that engenders. Something he's getting to personally experience first hand over the past few days the sort of enmity that builds in someone now that he's finds it's been done to him. He can preach his outrage to the Comicsgate flock all he likes but outside CG the complaints seem to be falling on deaf ears. There's been no appreciable impact on sales given that Black Hops x Kamen America x Soulfinder just celebrated the first week of its campaign by passing CG 2022's top seller Graveyard Shift 4 in backers. Not even fellow victim Simple Zack (who accepts Wes' description of events and blames "livestreaming culture") seems to think this is a one-way street on Ernst's part.

And it's really having that onus hanging over his head while Ernst (who didn't even work in comics beforehand) has been skating by for years with the reputation of a respected consummate professional, rather than the laughable non-damage Comic Book Hut inflicted to anybody's public image, I suspect is the real source of anger here.

Anyways. That's all in the past now and the past can't be undone. Comicsgate collectively seems to have learned, well, something from all this and that the key to success involves making a place where competent people would want to willingly be around so that normal people would actually want to back what's being offered, instead of generating needless lifelong resentment and grudges among conservatives and indie comic creators. And while a small fraction of the old enemies seem to have incredible staying power, no new ones seem to have been made for a while now

This is still the big hurdle amongst many of the factions within CG, and don't let anyone tell you there aren't factions in CG. Anything to the contrary is bullshit. There isn't a single creator who claims to be above the drama ("we're just here making good comics!") that hasn't actively involved himself in drama, whether already present or newly formed. We can talk privately about it and I can name names, but that isn't the point. So many stories i can tell of creators at odds with each other (the things you DON'T see on Twitter or YouTube.) Some confuse being cordial or formal with building a friendly relationship which in turn becomes a step towards a gayop or IBS.

But there has been signs of those who are getting it. Micah Curtis' latest livestream pushing back against failed comic creator @Tyne showed signs he was willing to put behind him old beefs (people in the chat he was once hostile to he welcome back with open arms and minds.) If Liam has taught many of us anything, it's that being right is a pathway to losing money. Rohan Pall still hasn't gotten this message yet. Some get it, some don't. But I do see a shift towards working together and building a network devoid of the condition of any friendship or personal relationship. CG probably needed 3 or 4 years of faggotry to get to this point. Has it been ironed out enough to survive it and enter a new phase of growth and produce? We'll see.

The Renfamous myth is that she's this big existential threat to people's culture war campaigns, and that she... I guess... decided to travel all the way from Texas to Tennessee to smash TUG's hillbilly mailbox.

The Renfamous reality is that she's a frumpy cosplayer who bloviates on Twitter, gets asspats from blue checkmark SJWs for doing so, but has little to actually show for it. FROG's campaigns performed well, and her campaign against Vic Mignogna was similarly ineffectual. Her final legacy appears to be as a punchline in some cringe artwork that a guy who pegged in the ass decided to use in an attempt to co-opt CG.

I mention this because I think Dongs is right. This latest shitshow isn't gonna have any appreciable impact on the revenue of either side. What it does, more than anything, is give us more drama to chew on.

The first strike came when "Dane Whitman" issued an open challenge for Comicsgaters to come on his platform and debate on him on why they're not Nazis, where he'd double as moderator. Renfamous and a few of her hangers-on came on to pull Forced Adversity and check him as the cishet white new guy, saying that they don't do things like debate Comicsgate, since that could be used as youtube content and boost their profile.
Forced Adversity rebutted in the form of sperging out about how all Renfamous and the other losers managed to do was just get slapped around by Comicsgate for a while and the "ignoring them works" strategy was all just a cope, but he's going to take the fight to the enemy and actually do some damage unlike their pathetic attempts. This did not endear FA to the pre-existing SJW anti-Comicsgate community. To rub salt in the wound, nobody accepted the invitation anyway, or insisted it happen on a neutral platform (which Dane refused).

The second was when he had made the foolhardy decision of trying to navigate the minefield that is a converstaion with a twitter they/them as a white liberal, who made a big "we need to talk about Forced Adversity " thread, complete with clips on why he's a transphobic shitty person and no real ally.

The final strike came when Mary Sue comics blogger homo Anthony Gramuglia decided to flex on this upstart and say in no uncertain terms that FA will not be allowed to make an exposed documentary on obscure mexican DeviantArts Comicsgater "IMEGA Arts" being a pedophile, on the grounds that it would run the risk of turning IMEGA into the next TUG.

Unsurprisingly, FA was persona non grata in SJW circles after that and so was exiled to hang around the likes of Matt Jarbo, Nerdette and Saggy Melonz where, uh, the exact same shit happened on account of Dane's crippling autism. Not that that wasn't where things were headed anyway, what with the whole regular "we need to talk about why Forced Adversity is a piece of shit" public group discussions that were going on in the first place.

I don't know Alazmat, is Micah's admitting that he, to quote his own words "backed the wrong horse" and very belatedly crossing the factional aisles to join people he was formerly aligned against, symbolic of any real intellectual or philosophical development on Micah's part? I know on his latest streams he's talked being repentant about taking part in division and stirring up trouble, but it's unclear if this represents some sort of meaningful change of his behavior or perspective or simply what he believes the people watching are looking to hear. To be fair, turning retarded fans and content creators to rail against your competitors online is one of the staples of being a comicbook pro for years now.
Whether it is a facebook group of your, CBR, Renfamous, YBZ, WC or CBH it is a reality in the industry.
But one should measure a pro by the retards used and, unfortunately, Doug and IC come off as lacking the prestige of others.

In the last year or so, CG seemed to have reached a point of...I don't want to say "respectability" but the faggotry seemed to have died down substantially. People in this thread were remarking about how boring it had become since the only things to really laugh about were YBZ's self immolation and whatever Liam decided to sperg about. We'd resorted to talking about the FNT crew for fuck's sake. CG used to be all about constant gay op bullshit and late books, then it was just about late books. That ain't much to laugh at.

The Ernst-Hut flare up of mid 2022 served to remind me what a lulzy shitshow CG used to be compared to what it's been recently. Doug Ernst is a dick and I can't thank him enough for his contribution to this thread.

Then I write in the little time before work, and the little time after.

Spent some time a couple weeks ago going over the Creepsters dialogue (going to print tomorrow) and now I've been going over the book 2 dialogue (14 pages drawn so far out of 100) ahead of writing book 3.

Wrote an 82,000 word novel in the last couple months too.

Unfortunately, streaming takes a back seat to making the books. I won't have new things to sell on stream if I don't take the time away from youtube to write.

I have been checking in here though, just haven't had much to say.
