Oh ok that makes sense. Just trying to get the book in the hands of people who read comics/graphic novels, but have no clue what the hell CG, Anti-CG, Et al. are. That is something I have told a creator or 2 I have talked to in the past. Yea you need to make the rounds on the CG channels, but there is so much crossover that afterward they really need to branch out and find other channels/genres with less crossover and new people not in the CG fray. It kinda seems like
@FROG is trying to do the same by making a League of Conservative Pop Culture that has more than just comic people.
I guess I cant blame you for how Amazon prices out your stuff. I just have always thought it was better for creators to mark up the price by at least $5 on the overrun stuff, especially if they are going to sell it on a different platform than Indiegogo or Kickstarter. All the talk around these comic campaigns(and how I see them) has always been more "I'm a business owner and I am selling you my original printing of a book, there may or may not be an opportunity it get it afterward, so you better get it now" than "you are investing in my business venture and if successful your dividend is a copy of said book". Thats why I feel the books should be a little more after the campaign and off the crowdfunding sites. Now when creators are doing vol. 2, and they have a second printing of Vol.1 in a bundle or as an add-on, it should be cheaper($20 instead of $25) because its just a second printing of the book. The exception is if you offer a new cover by a bigger name artist(kinda like the Diaz brothers did with Magic Cop 2 and the vol. 1 reprint with a Kelsey cover). Also, I have always liked what Kung Lee does with Battle Maiden Knuckle Bomb. He does a fancy "prestige" version, then does a campaign after, that is a "standard" version that is cheaper and on newsprint(IIRC). I get the standard, because honestly I dont care about all the bells and whistles, I just want the book.
I have talked on here before on here about backing Deus Vult and A High School Girl In The Crusades. JDA might have missed those post, which is understandable considering most of my post about him are shitting on him. Just because I have a low opinion about JDA, doesnt mean I automatically dismiss his books. I back/buy books I think look good regardless of how I feel about the creator. Hell I think Mark Waid is an absolute worthless and terrible human being, but I am going to order his recent Batman Superman Worlds Finest trade, because it looks good and I have heard good things about it.
