What I'm trying to say is punishing two guys for transgressions against Comicsgate law or whatever is easy enough, but trying to fix an fanbase that has been self-selected to consist of people who no longer care about comics in any meaningful sense, or singlehandledly forcing a community of livestreamers to make interesting content is beyond any single person's ability.
I see this in the book community too, in that eventually, the key players involved got into so much drama and gay ops with one another, the people that want to talk about books quietly leave the scene. The people left behind are those that crave blood and bickering. These are the people with short to zero attention span - the very last people to read books or comics and, therefore, a crowd that will not heavily invest in the properties being marketed at them.
It's definitely a self-selected and self-inflicted course of development. Having seen this often enough, I also wonder whether one can even sustain a long-term marketing plan when you primarily try to sell books and comics to people that, well, prefer to spend their time online watching other things. Maybe the two forms of media are inherently incompatible for the most part.
