So how did this negro make over 2 million for rippaverse?

I haven’t been following comicsgate too much, but that seems like an insane amount for something that has relatively little engagement on social media and zero interest outside fringe culture war circles.

Any chance he’s faking the numbers?

Any chance? Yeah, it's his site, but he did a few important things to pump those numbers up: he hyped it for a good while and his youtube channel is larger than most of CGs combined so he can talk to a larger core audience, he's connected to both CG and the FNT sphere so he can draw both crowds and he got mainstream coverage from fox news (although this was after the initial success).

Also it looks like despite all the reddit hate and cancellation the Rippaverse has it's own subreddit with 1.8K members already.

Conspiracy theory. He has 4,000 people watching live every day on a channel of nearly 500K, been on Ethan's show and FNT and Fox News picked it up as a story too, and trended on twitter. He also has a mailing list of 20,000+ for the project. That's a lot of advertisement, and once something hits that $1M mark and becomes the buzz everyone talks about, it perpetuates itself.

EDIT: In unrelated news Frog launched a new campaign for his looong-overdue book yesterday with a marathon stream. 12+ hours? The campaign is at $90k after the first 24 hours, a 75% drop-off from the first campaign's Day 1 back in March 2020... Not sure any conclusions can be drawn from that since surely anyone who wanted it has already ordered but still interesting. CF3 is going to be fun to watch, especially competing with the Rippaverse. Remember when Liam suggested coordinating release dates, etc, so CG'ers wouldn't stomp on each other's campaigns and everyone just laughed? Yeah, that.

What's made me skeptical is that his Youtube views, twitter likes/retweets, and so on just don't match what a crowdfunding campaign this size would normally be.

One of the top results when you google 'Rippaverse' is a thread on Neogaf. For a dead forum like that to be one of the top results, I'd assume it means very few people are talking about that.

YoungRippa59's channel, despite having nearly 500k subs, struggled to break 30K views a video until recently. So it's not like he had some huge audience. He's a small fry as far as anti-SJW channels go. His video announcing the project only got 87K views.

But who knows? Maybe the comicsgate crowd are just really loyal paypigs.

A while back I figured out Rekt Planet had 8.2% in Indiegogo backings of ComicArtistProSecrets youtube subs (currently 146K). YoungRippa59 has significantly more at 485K so once he has more than 39,770 total purchases (currently 28,903) you can say that it is outperforming his following. Keep in mind if one person makes 5 different purchases that raises the number so it doesn't mean that many individuals bought it. Also just like indiegogo I assume shipping costs are in the total? Average purchase total is about $89. Caveat being this whole Rippaverse site numbers are unverifiable but the numbers technically track.

Anyway I'm laughing at both the cope from the rippaverse redditor and those two getting shit on.

He's writing it, not drawing it. He also seems to be going with a "releasing only when it's done"
philosophy. By his 2nd or 3rd book he'll be a multi-millionaire, provided he doesn't have a sportscar habit.

Remember, too, we're talking about a fairly normal guy for a youtuber here. He isn't a weirdo comic industry morlock who has no idea how a business actually runs.

He's made $2.5mm, on his way to $4mm if I had to guess. Exactly how much do you think he paid his artist, colorer and letterer? Obviously there's warehousing, printing and fulfillment. He's said he's set a lot of this up already. By book 2 or 3 economies of scale should kick in.

I suppose we'll see, but this one seems pretty professionally run so far.

Knowing how to market to a captive niche audience and knowing how to run a sustainable multi-million dollar business are two entirely different things. We'll have to wait and see what happens before anointing him the next Ray Kroc.

He's grossed 2.5 million. Let's not get completely carried away here. I also have concerns about the art in the book and I have no idea if this guy has any idea how to construct and write a decent comic story. Lots of unknowns on that front.
 
EVS just did a ten hour stream and 90% of it was unwatchable because that faggot JDA was on it. My god he has the most annoying speaking voice. It's like when you unexpectedly encounter a tranny in the wild and get a surge of anger when you hear it try to mimic a woman with its male voice box.

I caught about 3 minutes of it. Cecil has lost a bunch of weight, it's good to see that coke addiction paying off and that all the money he stole went to good use.
