I mean if you're talking on a production level then yes black and white is more cost-effective but the appeal of Japanese art style is the vibrant color that goes along with it. Yeah I can understand it and like a slice of life (School Days) manga where nothing really happens it's just a bunch of talking throughout the panels then yeah you might as well save money I'm not trying to colorize it will be no better than colorizing a movie from the 40s that's just a slow drama that you have on to fall asleep to.Black and white isn’t inherently a drawback, but generally speaking, I will always pick a competently-colored manga over its b/w original when given the option.
Of course, due to the sheer length of most popular manga, and the additional costs associated with both the act of coloring AND printing the work in color, fully colorized works are hard to come by because the money just isn’t there - the vast majority of manga fans are happy to read black and white.
Probably too much if he paid her up front. She could give him 50% off if he gives her the BBC out back."Y'all know why they call me "YoungRippa" right bitch?"Wonder how much Rippa paid for that cosplay?
Speaking of, in a turn that should surprise no one, the Simpcast host had her first full-on, unironic, #MeToo stream tonight. The subject in this case is a professional stand-up comedian and podcaster and former long-term boyfriend of hers, Pat Dixon, who was accused by the not-at-all-trouble-waiting-to-happen Mayr of physically assaulting her (or tapping her really hard when she was performing yoga for him) some time in the past. This accusation surfaces in the context of a discussion over him punching some dude a few months ago, and detailed in the Cumia thread. Pat Dixon will be familiar to anyone who has subscribed to Anthony Cumia's paywalled Compound Media podcast channel. Wont bore with the breakdown of the ensuing roastie panel discussion since it's not relevant to this thread, but suffice to say every horrifying thing you've come to know and love about "female power networking" and gyno-mob takedowns is on display here, right or wrong, forSelf awareness only brings in the simp bucks when you are a comedian like Chrissie Mayr.
…I dunno where you’ve been dude, manga is big in the States on a mainstream level.Way more so than any colored American comic. Maybe not MCU mainstream, but this isn’t the 90’s anymore, where the only people who watched anime were nerds passing around bootleg tapes.I mean if you're talking on a production level then yes black and white is more cost-effective but the appeal of Japanese art style is the vibrant color that goes along with it. It's just kind of a shame that more of the Shonen/Action/Adventure oriented manga doesn't use colors since like old American comics just brings out more of the energy that's coming out of each panel. Sure it might be expensive yes but if manga wants to make it big here in the States on a mainstream level it has to make some changes. Even the cheapest/poorest American comics were still in color.

Never have female friends and never be alone with a woman in circumstances you can't record. Simple advice for clown world times. It doesn't matter if you're left or right. These women know what's up and their emotional babbling will be believed especially because they're reasonably attractive. It's all a performance.Speaking of, in a turn that should surprise no one, the Simpcast host had her first full-on, unironic, #MeToo stream tonight. Let's just say they spend well over an hour canceling the pugilistic Dixon with unquestionable certitude through heresay, conjecture, rumor, gossip, and specious implications and yet can not ultimately decide if ever hitting anyone under any circumstances is right or wrong. Not anywhere near a meltdown, but spiritual echoes of last year's Mary Meyhem / Jessie Milestone drama. Warning bells. These are the people who would collectively hold veto power over everyone in their "community" at all times.
It should be reiterated as always that Chrissie hadn't even seen Star Wars until she was brought on to the Friday Night Tights crew sometime last year I think (as comedic color commentator or something) and was a leftist until approximately yesterday. I'm sure it's nothing, though. These are the people whose emotional maintenance you neglect at your own peril. They are not here to contribute. They are not even here to conduct a transaction. They are here ultimately because they crave a certain type of attention to which they simultaneously feel entitled to and disgusted by. To CG, G+G, FNT, "Fandom Menace"' et al., I would say you let these people in and you were warned.
The stream was immediately copyright struck but will update if/when she reups. She usually does since she likes to "premiere" her previous livestreams which allows her to trick 2x the simps into superchatting.

48 minutes of incoherent rambling and reminiscence about Astro Boy. Such prose needs to be preserved for the ages. (I made it about 4 minutes in.)Breaking News!!! Liam is back, at least for an update on his book Boy Island. I am pretty sure he is just reading off a script for this Livestream. Check it out before it's gone
And never under any circumstances hire a female. These are the lessons of #MeToo and modern feminism in general.Never have female friends and never be alone with a woman in circumstances you can't record. Simple advice for clown world times. Why not? You can pay them 70% of what a man makes and for some reason they never sue employers for it, even though it's totally a real thing that happens all the time. And never under any circumstances hire a female. These are the lessons of #MeToo and feminism in general.
Here's a memory from the distant past of CG: Did that Canadian chick who embezzled from Bill Willingham ever pay him back? IIRC she hopped across the border back home to Canada and hasn't been back in the US since. And never under any circumstances hire a female. These are the lessons of #MeToo and modern feminism in general.
Even without the MeToo stuff they'll get pregnant within six months and then take a paid year off. I've watched this happen three times in the past two years. Why not? You can pay them 70% of what a man makes and for some reason they never sue employers for it, even though it's totally a real thing that happens all the time.
At some point you start to realize that Perch is YBZ that had kids with the same mother. One of the great things about this thread is that it introduced me to Comics by Perch.
And today, he had a viewer question video that asked, among other things, why the ComcisGate creators don't band together and try to form their own imprint a la Image Comics did in the 90s.
Going by what we're seeing with RippaVerse and PayPal, part of it might be because even when the creators appear to have their shit together to actually publish and ship their comics, there's still some pretty basic business sense that they're missing.

Chick has her pronouns in her Youtube profile. Jesus Christ. There's actually a cuter version of what you're talking about, but she's a consoomer with shit taste.
Honestly, this is something of actual interest and substance, not one of @TheCosmicWarrior's Mags like bragging of "I have written x amount of pages" or @The Ghost of CG Past's retarded self fellatio babbling. Congrats! Now send me my frog book frog. This isn't shilling, but it IS peacocking.
I can't help but feel like it's because of the fake geek girls that nerd culture is in the shitter, or at least one of the reasons. Then there are cosplayers who take a non sexualized character and sexualize it, sort of like how most modern women's Halloween costumes became slutty variations of everything from firefighters to Super Mario.
I saw a woman at a con once wearing glasses and a man's suit with her shirt unbuttoned almost to the waist, her extremely ample cleavage was held in by what could only be the strongest titty tape yet devised. She claimed she was dressed as Clark Kent. A lot of the "fake geek girl" vitriol was initially aimed at women going to cons and dressing up like that for attention/money when they didn't really have any interest in anything the cons were catering to. I've even met some business minded ladies who work as strippers and escorts and regularly go to cons in costume because, duh, it's thirsty geeks with tons of money who can't wait to part with it.
