Did Rippa utterly DESTROY Marvel and DC yet?
Nope. He made some money on the first issue of his comic while being the G+G token black guy and exploiting the impotent rage of CG for his income

...Which actually is respectable LOL, idiots wanna feel like they're a part of some important war so they waste their money on a mid comic they can read online (if it does end up releasing I guess? IIRC it's still being printed?), and I feel like Eric knows this too, which, if he didn't have an internet history, would make me think he was cozying up to CG and people like G+G on purpose.

I get the feeling one of two things are gonna end up happening with the rippaverse - either it's gonna drop off because nobody in any "consumer revolt" movement can commit to shit, look at the 'game developer' Sargon or the 'filmmaker' Davis Aurini and where the support for their stuff went (and I think EVS is having trouble with his pledges to his comic?), or Eric is going to do something to piss off the people who support him, maybe insert "politics" somewhere in his story (like something as small as a black person in a poor community or gay characters) and cause a massive CG sperg civil war, consisting of the usual CG tards whining "You made it POLITICAL!" and CGers without irony arguing "but this isn't political!"

Or maybe the story will be fire. Or maybe Eric's gonna stop giving a shit and run off with the money he got after the first issue. Lol

Either way Eric's sales have given him and other G+G losers a massive ego. Lmfao

Oh, c'mon. Stop feigning ignorance.
You already know the answer of why and how this happened:
Nick Rekieta.
Actually, I really don't. I stopped following Rekieta and Weebwars closely about two years ago.

I did suspect they saw the numbers he pulled off the back of the Vic thing in 2019, and fenagled their way in for attention, but I didn't know he was an active participant in them attending.

As a guest at the convention for the past 3 years, Rekieta has built a rapport with the Leighs because he is a "cordial motherfucker."
The whole "YouTuber corner" at Anime Matsuri this year was Nick's idea that he put together with the Leighs.
The list of YouTubers that were given a table there were invited by Nick to the convention, including ThatStarWarsGirl.
In turn, Anna invited members of the Simp Cast there (hence why Venti and Ashton Blaise were there).
Thanks for the recap.

Annnnnnd... that sounds gay.

Again, Vic is one thing, but how are these Youtube thots related to anime? What value do they bring to anything?

Is what it is, but what it is is pretty cringe if you ask me. Are they looking to be low rent Vidcon now?

Oh, don't get me wrong, a lot of his politics and opinions are absolutely deplorable.

But he's still more interesting and talented than a lot of people in CG.

I look at this way:

Doug sells NFTs, which are retarded, but people ostensibly get their retarded NFTs. Their money to spend as they see fit.

Cecil sells a comic book, but people don't get their fucking comic book.

Point Tenapel. People selling and buying stupid shit is one thing, but buyers not even getting their stupid shit is something altogether different.

I sure hope Critical Drinker isn't in an Anna clique. That guy actually does legitimately funny content.

He's apart of the Fandom Menace crowd, he seems to prefer to Britfags. Mauler, Az. At least on his own space.

My take on Drinker is he likes promoting his material, which his fandom menace grift has done.

Rackets taking shit from glorious leader on MATI did make my dark heart beat a little faster.

It's been awhile since I've done something like this, mostly because CG and its people are as fascinating as the January 6th hearings; that yes are still going on. As evidence, there just isn't anyone interesting to see.

Nerkish has pivoted on his content, doing live streams and deleting them. At the 25 minute mark, after greetings, Sven turns to a video by a customer who complains he has not received his product. Nerkish then comments that this is what allot of right wing stuff turns into...grift.

While I love teabagging Frog, I would point he has...after long.......loooooong delays consistently fulfilled his campaigns. The comicsgate grift, the successful one not the short game bitch fag shit, has always been about connecting supporting campaigns to the culture warz. Taking the money after just one campaign isn't worthy of being called grifting. Which is why it's a bizarre tagline to connect Frog's horribly slow fulfillment to a lack of fulfillment. It's an unfair criticism.

At the 27 minute mark, Nerkish pivots to saying that Gators don't care about the comics they are buying. Nerkish downplays his involvement in CG, that he got 'lumped in.' Which is not remotely how things went down. The problem with Nerkish doing this is he and Zach are the same with both deleting allot of their old videos. Having been paying attention back then, Nerkish was actively engaging with CG, reviewing comics, and popping up.

They quickly tire of their revisionist trip and move on to the latest abortion on tv.

Justsomepedo seems to have cleaned up after his faggy little meltdown three months back. This prissy little pedo apologist has been trying to pump out clickbait on whatever is hot at the moment. She-hulk, LOTR, Batgirl. Whether this works says more about his followers than him.

Doug Earnst is hitting the Con circuit. He recently sat at a panel on writing (ugh) with anti CG Brian Ball, and Bill Williams who writes Punchline. What's interesting are the individuals involved.

Overall not allot to talk about of interest.

Two things:
1. Anna has actually been helping out at Vic's table whenever he is at signings in California since last year. So, she has that going for her.
As for Venti and Blaise, your point is valid.
2. I am also critical of having these ComicsGate-adjacent YouTubers at an anime convention when their primary content has NOTHING to do with anime and/or manga. They should just make their own convention instead of hijaking one unrelated to them. At least Geeks & Gamers created a new subdivision on their website and a new YouTube channel called "Weebs + Waifus" that will cover anime and manga now. If Jeremy was smarter, he would have had that crew cover the convention top to bottom (interview some of the guests, vendors, The Leighs, and record the panels instead of just a convention floor tour). As much of a sperg that he is, having Cody Baier and Anime Outsiders there would have been more on point.

Jeremy is Dumb

If Jeremy was smarter, he would have had that crew cover the convention top to bottom
Jeremy, out of an abundance of concern for his brand, is busy struggling with what he actually believes about things and stuff and what words mean. Thankfully, he has Gary to help him as evidenced by the abrupt change in tone from this week's Tuesday Night's Main Event to Friday Night Tights regarding the latest Geeks + Gamers edgelording controversy having something to do with someone on his team uttering the term "squaw" on their site/channel. Jeremy was initially attempting to diplomatically thread the needle between championing freeze peach and the feelings/concerns of others who might find that "squaw" term offensive. On his earlier stream one got a genuine sense that Jeremy was being honest and sincerely had no idea this word was offensive and no one wants to be their awkward uncle going on about "good oriental food" so he's basically like "not editing it, but noted". Jeremy's ignorance tracks because Jeremy is in fact an awkward dummy and his conciliatory position tracks because Jeremy is in fact also a spineless politician if a politician eschewed business/law/civics for a career working retail and then playing Mario Cart for doofuses on the internet . It's believable that he unironically thought it was a type of bird.

It was quite something watching Jeremy "I'm a Leader" Griggs demonstrate to the audience how he can into leadership by doing his "due diligence" including placing multiple phone calls (!) in the days and hours prior up to having Eric July consult with his own Native American relatives via text right there on stream. All to find out wot wurd mean..?

What doesn't work is 3 days later when he's on FNT walking-back his apology and attempting to get his smug energy back up lest The High Griftlord Gary unpersons him because the official stance of the FNT syndicate is "we don't bend the knee." Observe how Gary calls on Jeremy to stand before the class and essentially render a prescribed clarification to the apology (which is basically all the cocky stuff from Tuesday minus the reasonable/pussy stuff about not using the word in the future if it bothers people):

...before Nina "Fuck Me, Tony" Infinity chimes in and again throws the panel back into confusion as to whether the word is offensive or not, prompting the men-folk to get their women-folk back on message. Everything is us-vs-them Twitter drama so heels must stay dug-in all the time, apparently. Becoming the controlled opposition for Hollywood found no takers so the current gig is gladly accepting highly suspicious $500 superchats in exchange for throwing rotten tomatoes at celebs and bickering with cross-dressing faglords on social media in the Dumbest Way Possible.

Gary is Dumb

Later on Friday Night Tights we have newly minted arch conservative, San Fran's Texas' own Gary "My Mom's Vagina" Buechler grooming his underage son live on stream for a future of serially making cringe sex jokes (the kind even professional comedian paid to 'bring the funny', Chrissie Mayr, much to her credit, winces at), proving that the mass blue exodus to red states will almost certainly result in a fresh crop of cultural conservatives sprouting up in the bible/sun belt in 10-20 years or an entire new generation of angry leftist degenerates who have no real idea what it meant to flee California and New York in the first place because their parents are weird, fucked-up, drug-addled, dumb, carpetbagging, criminal liars. One of the two.

Anna is Dumb

In an update to the quickly-evolving saga of Anna & Cecil's ascension to the ranks of G+G/FNT, the rapidly aging/de-feminizing half of the duo followed up her Boston FanExpo pre-panel attempt at taking the ole' "order a slushy no-ice and walk out with a half gallon of syrup" scam across country to a place not particularly known for their credulity, the Greater Boston metropolitan area. You'll recall from yesterday, in a move that apparently took the increasingly mannish bimbo by shock, the fine citizens of Boston, MA were having none of her California-style commerce. When they'd grown tired of her attempting to drive them all off a cliff with Karen-tier behavior, they invited her to hit the bricks with the standard serving of what appeared to be hummingbird feeder liquid which the "actually very smart" Anna, lacking the physics acumen of your average corvid, took to be a terrible injustice.

Undaunted, the soon-to-be walking poster girl for the perils of corn syrup, microplastics, Bogdanoff Twins phone call answering, and hormone-disrupting pharmaceuticals re-asserted that she is a serious professional YouTuber and "content creator" by scheduling two live streams at 4:04pm and 4:15pm, neither of which she showed up for because she apparently decided last minute to let Drunk3PO stream it without telling her audience, leaving over a thousand simps (and one mean spirited troll) waiting for naught. As of nearly 24-hours later the placeholders still exist as when someone is enjoying drinks and then sleeping off a hangover and then presumably trying to catch a plane ride home, there isn't a lot of time left over to actually do their job. At any rate, she gave a shout-out to Gary and Jeremy's "Legion of Memers" who as far as I can tell mostly subsist on stealing YellowFlash's intro bits and running them into the dirt at the behest of their leaders on FNT. But not before receiving some backup in her harrowing ordeal from fellow SimpCast bimbo Xia. Meanwhile, for the second day in a row, Chrissie Mayr very subtly hints that she knows these people she's thrown-in with are vapid west coast assholes, in this case attempting to sympathize with Anna/Xia while basically telling her "yeah, you were asking for free beverage".

We can see Anna on Twitter giving the impassioned plea for noticement to the thristy lads the Legion of Memers while simultaneously kicking whipping boy Lofti Pixels in the nuts.

EDIT:
Now that Chrissie has privated the original stream containing Anna's rage at Boston FanExpo (as well as creep shots of her ass and close-up views of her tongue, tonsils and other horrors), I grabbed the clip where she arrives from Starbucks uttering terroristic threats before greeting fans.

my apologies, I could have sworn you mentioned his name in one of your recent streams.
Yes, someone told me the name I chose for a CYBERFROG comic, "Dark Harvest" is also the name of one of his novels. I've heard of Critical Drinker, but I have never watched his content and don't know anything about him past that.

A quick search on google and amazon finds many many more properties titled dark harvest before Drinker. I don’t think he owns it.

I'm sure Weebwars will hate me for saying this, but I don't think Anime Matsuri has a long term future. Especially if they're having to fill the guest and panel roster with Comicsgate and Comicsgate-adjacent.

It's a pity too, because every other con is going woke. Sadly, I think part of the issue here is that John Leigh has too much legitimate baggage. I don't know if they CAN get better guests at this point. Certainly they've come up way short in terms of industry representation.

As much of a sperg that he is, having Cody Baier and Anime Outsiders there would have been more on point.
Dude, SPIRIT JUNIOR would be more on point than Venti and Blaise. Because even though he's a loud obnoxious fat fuck, I don't think anyone doubts he genuinely likes anime. Plus, like any good black weeb, he probably has encyclopedic knowledge of Dragonball. LOL.

Venti shows up dressed as Laura Croft, and doesn't know shit about shit. Give me a break.

And don't get me started on Cecil (again).

On Frog's stream last night he was watching some other douche letter Caanan's work and he was razzing him (Caanan) a bit at first but near the end they seemed to be actively shitting on him. I don't have any timestamps because it happened throughout the stream but I remember they seemed to be laughing at him for doing covers for some company. As if he lowered himself from CG in some way.

Canaan's leaving CG was decently documented on this thread as it happened. Turns out Malin has always held it against the oardropper and had a long twitter thread shitting on the quitter; I just mostly remembered everyone else being understanding of his situation.

Upon receiving her viscous red drank, the haggard e-girl realized she was grossly defrauded by the baristas at the popular coffee establishment and has subsequently taken to her Twitter to seek justice in their utter ruination.

It's times like these that I'm reminded of the concept of supernormal stimuli; just like moths to a flame, sea turtles chasing porch lights or jewel beetles humping a beer bottle, humans are just as exploitable when overloaded with unnatural levels of stimuli all out of proportion with what an organism might naturally expect to receive during hundreds of thousands of years of the evolutionary process. That Anna could be so high from fawning internet attention that she thought she could personal army Starbucks is a level of Girl On The Internet Syndrome that beggars belief. It's been said before: clout is a hell of a drug.

Image CFO Erik Larsen put out this TDS-fueled tweet a few days ago which resulted in a lot of angry twitter and youtube if not much else. For more information on Erik Larsen's history of libtarding in comics Bounding Into Comics wrote an article about it.

Mags Visaggio isn't doing to good. Simple Zack made a video about it but why waste 10 minutes when the tweet will suffice?

There was a rare episode of Nerdette kino where she confronted "Alpha Eagle", the most persistant of the extreme niche Nerdette A-Log industry who's latest video titled "Nerdette Hates Product She Sells" (with links to said sponsors) was shortly followed by Nerdette losing said sponsorship. As might expected for a guy who represents himself as a caped bodybuilder MGTOW Christian Nationalist culture warrior going by the name "Alpha Eagle", Nerdette's opponents caved immediately upon being pressed by an angry woman in between wheezing in his mic that what he did didn't constitute cancel culture. Unfortunately he doesn't have much of a leg to stand on, as his case that Nerdette ;hates the Punisher' ergo her sponsors consisted of her stating at one point she prefers other characters to Punisher while receiving a comped skull logo, and the links to her sponsor for his viewers to go target is a bit of a smoking bullet.

Finally, a drunk Ryzie faced off against a Douglas Ernst account in his chat this morning for 47 minutes of unbroken threats, commentary on Ernst's fighting prowess, his chances in a physical altercation with Ryzie, remarks regarding the Catholic Church's behavior around altar boys and how this reflects on Soulfinder and other, more sinister threats directed Doug's way.

Long time no post but I was catching up on Irredeemable by Mark Waid and Peter Krause. Evil supermen are getting old in my book but I heard it was getting a Netflix adaptation and I didn't want to miss out on another Invincible.
Capture.JPG

Lemme tell you folks, Invincible this ain't. Waid can't figure out if his evil superman is sympathetic or not and flip flops on every other page, there are an endless amount of throwaway characters that do nothing but introduce plot points that go nowhere, and Plutonian is drawn with five fingers so frequently I actually started to wonder if he canonically has five fingers.
Large parts of his characterization are clearly syphoned strait from Waid's endless well of self-pity and the plot relies on so many nonsensical asspulls it feels like a JoJo's fanfic. Characters are upgraded from street-level to reality-buster at the drop of a hat, then killed off pages later.
I did get a chuckle when they introduced a race of insectoid, wasp-like, intergalactic conquerors calledVzz-P'ah. At this point I don't even suspect comic writers of plagiarizing each other, more so that they all go through life with the same ten stale ideas bouncing around in their heads so unintentional overlap is an inevitability.
I dunno...I guess the twist was kinda interesting?

I'll be skipping the adaptation.

I finished Irredeemable feeling it would have been much better if Waid limited the story to 15-20 issues and just kept to a standard plot where the stakes against Plutonian steadily rose until building to a climax. It was the series' success that wound up fucking over everything as Waid just kept shoehorning in sideplot after sideplot to keep the sales going at the expense of watering down the main story arc of the entire series.
