These Comicsgate guys looked up to the Gunt and Rackets when they started. I'm pretty sure FROG wanted to be like them but with nerd comic shit. Comic creators are still comic dorks with no IRL social life, they stream so it doesn't seem like they are drinking alone. The days when artists were like Steranko, Kirby, and Frazetta are behind us. I hope anyone disillusioned with the current state of comics looks back to those legends or to Japan instead of these drunk idiots taking years to make the equivalent of an average 1990's comic.

It was never a joke, it's what the author would do. It's quaint that Comicsgate was once a thing where randoms said "Hey look this comic is stupid" Now it's owned by one guy in New Jersey and the enemies consist of a homeless woman, a crazed ginger Australian struggling writer, and some guy in a Captain America mask.
