Imagine a great artist (in their mind) who worked for marvel but was fired, a workman like boring amateur artist and a Marvel editor go to lunch. These two artists started an indie company together and are friends. The "great artist" has struggled to put out one indie book that failed and the mediocre artist is now a thriving creator who's 12 book completed series is optioned for a tv show. The Marvel editor starts to shit on the mediocre artist, verbally urinating on his ancestors graves. The "friend" and former marvel artist doesn't stick up for his friend but joins in, making fun of the mediocre artists book. He actually joins with the guy who works for the company that fired him in shitting on his supposed friend. Why? It's the reason Ethan would never, ever work FOR Eric. He would only go to Eric's company to "show him how to run it".

The moral of the story is artists have massive ego's that don't correlate to business acumen or success. As a result when their "superior" work that they often never even finish fails and things they see as inferior succeed it creates a shattered illusion for them. They are superior and therefore know what is best even if the other person is clearly more successful.

So when Evs screeches, he has no business running a company, this is why. He doesn't understand, can't comprehend Eric's success, all he knows he is he is a "professional" Eric is an amateur and has no right to do anything but be subservient to Evs. When the Rippaverse was being created I guarantee EVS assumed it would fail. In EVS mind he is a better artist, therefore it is impossible for Eric to outperform him (running a business is irrelevant to him) and with Eric succeeding he needs to do everything in his power to set reality straight again. As the artist at that table (why EVS recently praised geoff johns and even other woke comic "pros") himself and other "true" comics pro's are on a level that an amateur hasn't paid his dues and can never attain. So Evs needs to put them on the pedestal beside himself, Eric as an amateur needs to be below him. He'd only work with Eric if Eric bent the knee (despite Eric being more successful than Evs) that is how deluded he is and divorced from reality.

From what he said it wasn’t clear if he knew it was a minor when he was messaging her but it’s still gross and it got him fired so it doesn’t really matter since that was the topic at hand. Either he left it vague on purpose or doesn’t have the balls to come out and say it. Quartering and Yellow Flash reacted to the first draft and retracted their messages and a video from what I saw posted. Quartering said “firm handshake” which I don’t quite understand what that was meant to convey and Yellow Flash took down a video as the story changed in real time. Editing a tweet is hilariously fucked up, you could say something no one would disagree with then change it to “gas the kikes” and screenshot all the retards still thinking they are supporting the current thing.

If Van Sciver had kept a FrancoBelgian schedule (i.e. a 48-64 page comic every 12-18 months) by now he would be delivering on volume V of CyberFrog and perhaps vol. II of ReignBro the Brute. But just as important, he would've probably acquired some practice and feedback on his writing and hence at least be marginally better at it.

Instead every CF release takes so long that it seems like a cosmic event and because of it everyone expects, not without reason, that the work ought to be sterling in quality. And @FROG probably feels the shock of an amateur novice at open mic night when he finds out writing is not as easy as he thinks.

In defense of his pencils/inks , I think Kyle Ritter's coloring does FROG no favors. Kyle also tends to just pile the clutter adding upon EVS already cluttered style. Perhaps he should consider ringing up Moose Baumann and let bygones be bygones.

Absent that, the CyberFrog B/W variant may be peak Van Sciver as an indy artist (for whatever that's worth).

This is how I sort of remember it though. I could be off in a few areas and remembering things wrong.
