It's always been known there are multiple time backers. Just look thru the comments asking for refunds. Also a lot of the refund requests are for Briefcase/Box editions that are like $200 and come with multiple items. In earlier campaigns indiegogo had an option to donate as little as $1 without buying a perk that counted as one backer too. He had drives on stream to up the numbers by getting people to give him free money. The counting system is gamed for max bragging but it is a relatively small amount of people paying a lot of money each. People who pay him are stupid, would you buy anything where you look at the feedback and it's all refund requests?
The Reignbow doll campaign is a good example.

1,465 "backers" for $209,805 total raised.

But only 458 items were sold for $36,170 total.

So 1,007 "backers" donated $173,635 cash? Or is some of that shipping on the 458 items sold? Either way the "backers" number makes no sense unless a bunch just gave him $10-20 cash.

FOR YEEEEEARS!

I really hope your Cyberfrog investment works out bro.
I hope you make a gorrrrillion dollars.
I just hope he takes That Other Dude’s Persona’s parting advice.

Godlike ONE crossed six figures within 24 hours of launch. This second book is at a little over 50% of that in the same frame,

Either way the "backers" number makes no sense
I'm not sweeping for these crowdfund grifters, but if the Indiegogo backer numbers don't add up it could be because of a secret perk (like a patreon exclusive or a discount link) also if a perk is deleted the backer number could seem off. But on some of the older campaigns it was donations (donating without claiming a perk) that fudged the numbers.

Agatha Harknesss was made for one reason, Disney Plus needs new content.

You can't be a streaming service and not have exclusive new content.

I thought WandaVision was pretty good, the ending got a little in the weeds by Covid impacting filming, but there was a nice visual framing of Scarlet Witch's madness with meta tv reality. I'm sure the Fandom Grift will say Agatha is F minus and go crazy about it and offer low effort takes and act like its some kind of 'betrayal' against 'the f'ans'. The grift goes on.

And these fools claim they are fighting a culture war, meanwhile real shit is going on, a Ukraine War crazy just tried to murder Trump while everyone was watching football over the weekend. Whether Agatha is good or bad won't change a single damn thing.

This is such a brain dead perspective. Turn on CNN, MSNBC, Fox, etc. if you want to hear about Orange or Zelenksy’s clubhouse.

Whether you hate these people (and I’m including all entertainment commentators in this) or not, there’s a market for talking about entertainment. Everyone doesn’t need to be talking about world events, especially if they’re uneducated on them, or have no real interest.

The world bad = you can’t talk about media is just unbelievably retarded. What are you doing bitching about them on the Farms right now then?

As a janitor, sure.

If you honestly believe Richard C Meyer is capable of writing anything on the level of Sandman, The Invisibles, Transmetroplitan, or Preacher, you are either dented beyond capacity for rational thought or you are actually Zack. But I repeat myself.
I have a loft full of Vertigo comics from the 90s when I autistically bought practically everything that came out on the imprint. There were a lot of titles that, while interesting, were either too idiosyncratic to gain mainstream appeal (The Minx or Deadenders spring readily to mind ) or they came out the gate strongly then faded (I'm looking at you House of Secrets) or they couldn't deliver on their concept but were still decent (American Century). Many of Zack's leftfield efforts would have made good 3 or 4 issues minis. I appreciate that he is not liked by many on this thread (I find him exasperating) but he has talent.

It bears mentioning that Vertigo, even during their purple patch, put out an awful lot of shit. I own most of it.

I miss lord Ravener, guy had a good head on his shoulder, except got into the ocean as a hurricane approaches.

I haven't read the jawbreakers books or impossible stars or Iron sights YET so I can't speak on those, but I will say that his NarZach where "teenagers fight there "war hero" parents" was weak as hell and really lame.

His quirky projects are just concepts you would see as 5-page stories in random Kickstarter sci-fi anthologies, which is funny because he always made fun of those. Doesn't his immortal story end with him ripping off the Joker film's ending? He's just a weird person that always gets distracted by whatever is currently in vogue, I don't know if I'd call that talent.

Ravener is a major paypig, but seems like a good dude overall. It says a lot about EVS that he managed to lose these people last year. I think Ravener ditched the Kings even before the July drama started.

They love that $500 flex goal so they get the big number % in front of it. Good luck Malin. Your #2 "best" project is still not doing better than Eric July's #4.
Yeah, they do it on Kickstarter all the time too. It makes more sense there because you can actually sort projects by % raised, but maybe it still helps with backer psychology.

I've gotten plenty of comics via media mail off of eBay.

Comics aren't usually OK to go via media mail because they contain ads. Similar to magazines. Graphic novels can be OK because they don't usually have ads in them. Plus, they may more be considered a book and not a comic.

If the eBay seller is sending comics via media mail. It's basically a case of hope they don't get caught because the post office will fine them (possibly just upgrade to Ground Advantage and make the buyer or seller pay) and/or make it so they can't ship media mail anymore if they keep doing it. Supposedly, the PO will do random checks of packages.

Vertigo wasn't all great, but the good Vertigo titles were, IMO, probably the best comics of the 90s. Even people who believe the 90s gave us the worst comics ever tend to make an exception for Vertigo. So when you say Zack could have worked for Vertigo in the 90s, it's a fair assumption that you mean the good Vertigo stuff from the 90s and not the shit that's been sitting in a quarter bin for 30 years.

Zack seems to write what he likes and what he knows, which is military themed superheroes maybe with some sci-fi flavoring thrown in. He doesn't do fantasy, horror, or supernatural stuff or anything that could really be considered high concept (aka "weird") so I'm not really sure what how he'd fit into the Vertigo lineup. Even the somewhat lame Vertigo stuff that didn't go anywhere had a kernel of an interesting idea. Zack is out here pitching "The Boys meets The Rockford Files".

Yeah, I imagine sellers are doing a hope and a prayer they don't get caught. But as long as I get cheap back issues, I don't care what goes on on my end of things.

There are some forgotten gems like Army @ Love and Testament. I guess his Pandemic book isn't that much different than something like DMZ and he would be improved by editing. Still don't think he would ever cut it and fit in for long with people like Grant Morisson, but maybe a one off.

A lot of vertigo would be "woke" today, with trannies and gender bending and gay shit.

A one off used thing on ebay can slip thru the system. Like a periodical with ads sent media as a book. Or a video game sent media because it looks the same as a CD/DVD/Blu Ray which are media. But if you send a thousand of the same package at the same time they are gonna check.

FINE! At least then they recognised the potential risk should the character not go over so they made sure the characters were palpable to the general public as opposed to now where they drop their self-insert OC Mary Sue and call the audience names when we do not worship the mud puddle where the comic featuring them was discarded.

Apparently Evs's daughter tarded out after a bus breakdown. It sucks that this dude expects sympathy when he blamed a 16 year old being a coke dealer & should've raised 4 other kids.

@FROG Genuine advice, don't talk about your kids online especially when you're a minor e-celeb with tons of people who hate you.

This is nobody's business and Your kids didn't ask to be the subject of discussion of weirdos on the internet. that's what you're making them when you do shit like this.
