I don't think a person can underestimate how weird and crazy artists tend to be.G&G/FNT got rid of the troublemaker spergs like Ethan Van Sciver, Jessie Milestone and Mecha Random then ended the whole anyone who is fed up with Star Wars can join aka The Fandom Menace branding. Fandom Menace was the same as Comicsgate but for Star Wars, an organized-but-not nebulous cartel. Comicsgate kept doing this, anyone can be a member but we'll backstab you next week then make live streams about you for years. @FROG especially and now YBZ drive away people then have to either replace them or cope with smaller returns. G&G FNT just kept doing what they do with a very slight bit more professionalism than Scivergate, where they are able to organize more meetups etc because less of them want to kill each other. Gatekeeping their own company and not focusing solely on conflicts.
One of the main differences I see between FNT/G+G and CG is that FNT/G+G are just fans, not artists. Their model is simply to do what they always did as fans offline only now including the audience as part of the fan group. That's not to say that they aren't oddballs, but most of the surviving group are pretty stable individuals. All they have to do is show up on camera, do their shows, keep away from drama, and have events. It's a pretty simple model.
CG is mostly an artist group with all of the craziness, egos, jealousy, etc of artists. Their bucket of crabs is inherently unstable and self-destructive. There are more layers of competition with people competing for book sales and EVS trying to play the Froggfather manipulating the group. Drama and infighting are always around the corner. What they are trying to achieve, creating and selling books on a regular basis while also streaming on the side is so much harder to do than just streaming.
