In the past some film adaptations were untrue to the comic version look because it seemed stupid. Then you end up with stuff like Dolph Lundgren Punisher with no skull logo and Keanu Reeves Constantine with no blonde hair. Both are halfway decent movies but missing the visual for the comic fans to be more of a classic.
 
The thing about that bowl/shroom haircut is that, if Guy Gardner weren't DC's resident right wing asshole character, they would prob'ly make him look more like this

It's James Gunn, though. His movies are deliberately meant to fly in the face of your expectations while simultaneously being an excuse to cast his friends, brother, and the woman he's currently fucking.

So... nothing too unexpected here with Nathan Fillion (of course, of course) and that haircut.

That's why The Suicide Squad is a perfect fit for him, as it's satirical. Superman, however... I'll withhold my enthusiasm until the actual movie comes out.

Guy's haircut always seemed to me like a visual signal of what an asshole he is. Like aposematism in unpleasant animals or Crayola hair on people. He actually walks around in a turtleneck while sporting an egregious Moe Howard/Pete Rose bowl cut. He literally looks like a dick. Because he is a dick.

It has like 2 normal posts, one where he snapped at a pissed fan over the Fart Harley Quinn comic, a post where he shows everyone he knows Nerdrodic is better than he is and a post where he fails to be funny with "republidrumph vs libtardicus of bla bla retard ramble faggotry and autism bla bla"

"I spend all day on TikTok" is something he literally says btw

Yeah I think it was meant to look terrible and unstylish. It's good if James Gunn made it look even worse than the comics because the Edgar cut has become a trend and the more sharp bowl cut might look too good. You want Guy to look like and act like a douchebag. FROG is really just pissed that it's inspired by the 80's Green Lantern books and not his own which would net him royalty checks.

Zack of course, shared a picture of that comic, which I have omitted because that's why they make these things. They want their gross fetishes to be shared everywhere. They get off on it. They would be quite happy that Zack shared a repulsive picture of it with his audience.

Other than that, I don't really object to this post, except to say that Zack tends to do "Goo Goo Ga Ga, me no understand" posting when they do stuff to Warhammer 40k, like female Space Marines. The people pushing the female Space Marines the most are the loud, autistic transwomen who pretend to be part of the Warhammer Fandom, and what did Zack say when a "Birthday Party Clown" brought that up?

With Gardner, in recent comics they usually give him a crew cut or an undercut because the bowl cut looks fucking awful. In the period he was a red lantern he basically looked like a ginger hobo because he let his hair grow way out.

I stopped reading comics years ago, but this is the haircut I associate with modern Guy. (Pretty sure this was when EVS was drawing GL)

Personally, I think they should've got Alan Ritchson from the Jack Reacher Amazon show. Can do a tough as nails soldier, but also capable of playing an obnoxious jack ass from his days as Thad from Blue Mountain State.
 
Ritchson is a good choice, but he will be set back by the fact that he's not Sean Gunn, Michael Rooker, or Nathan Fillion in James's eyes.

Mike has trashed Nu Trek pretty extensively on ReView, but I think it's more to do with the fact he hates the crappy ham-fisted writing than any political position he might hold.

Any Trek fan knows that Trek has included social messaging since the days of Roddenberry. It's just that it used to be more subtitle and less cringe.
