They need at least 1 or 2 successful phases to put a dent into the debt. Superman has to not only make a alot of money but also be well beloved by fans. It can't afford to be some James Gunn nepo cult classic.
Well you can't really start a DC universe without superman. I do think superman would work as a high budget TV show and maybe bring him out for justice league movies. But as a trilogy movie there's not alot to do with him because villains that could compete with him like brainiac, bizzaro, Darkseid or doomsday must be 3nd or 4th movie saga ending bad guys and if the first movie bombs you have to try and rush a doomsday & Darkseid.
Maybe if he drifted away into some commercial corpo career never to be heard again, we could talk about @FROG like that, but not the weird shell of a man shambling about now.
Frog never went to college, comics is all he has and no corpo job will hire him if he's habitually late on comics as is.

He knows that from his dwindling sales, that‘s why he doubled down on the Eric July hating. It brings in the super chats. For now, he is ok because he still brings in over a hundred k per campaign which is still damn good for anyone else that isn’t CG or Eric July. But he can’t keep playing that same trick of re selling old content or stringing people along for new books that will probably never get into their hands. So hating on every book, vid and tweet that Eric July puts out is what is going to keep the lights on for him when the comic book money runs out since he has a decent sized fan/hate base.
