It’s a whole thing now of people making art and such.
"Oh my God… oh my actual God. You can’t make this up, folks. YOU CAN’T MAKE THIS UP." (Cue coughing fit)

"I make a dumb joke, a one-off shitpost, and what happens? These clowns take it SERIOUSLY and actually make the damn thing. This is where we’re at, people. Indie comics in 2025, everyone. And people are gonna throw money at it because of course they are. War bonds. Movement. Stalin."

"And, uh—I guarantee you that nobody is actually gonna read this. Just like nobody reads their other books. Just like nobody read ISOM. No discussion. No fan art. No excitement. Just a bunch of weirdos tricking each other into buying more plastic to put on a shelf."

(Deep sigh, more coughing, then suddenly shifting gears into an unrelated Navy story.)

"You know what this reminds me of? Back when I was in the Navy, we had this one guy—Seaman Patterson. Now, Patterson wasn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer, but he was the first guy to figure out that if you look busy enough, nobody actually checks what you’re doing. So this genius—this absolute tactician—would walk around the ship carrying the same clipboard every single day. He’d stop at random spots, tap the clipboard like he was taking notes, nod real seriously, and then walk off. Never wrote down a single thing. Just a blank sheet of paper. And for three months, nobody questioned it. Officers would pass by and go, ‘Oh yeah, Patterson’s on top of it.’ Until one day, some hardass lieutenant actually grabbed the clipboard and saw the truth. And what happened? Did Patterson get in trouble? No. The lieutenant just stared at the blank page, sighed, and muttered, ‘Carry on.’ Because by that point, even he had to respect the hustle."

"And that’s exactly what’s happening here! These guys have figured out that if you just look like you’re making comics, if you pretend to be building a fandom, nobody actually checks if the lights are on upstairs. They just assume it’s all legit. It’s the Patterson Clipboard Gambit. These guys aren’t selling comics—they’re selling the idea of comics. And it’s working! Because people are just that stupid."

(Another deep sigh, more coughing, getting lost in his memory for a second.)

"Meanwhile, I’m actually putting in the work. Writing, hiring artists, dealing with printers, navigating the worst backers known to man. And for what? So one-click meme book can outsell me? God, I wish I had no integrity. Life would be so much easier."

This captures Everything, the lack of self awareness, the seething, the coughing it's all here.

What good shows has Amazon made? Is he talking about ruining The Boys with modern American politics and "my wife's son", or is he talking about ruining Invincible with pseudo-feminism and endless celebrity cameos?
"I think I hate this greasy piece of shit more than I hate Al Qaeda. 100% of the things he says are negative." -- Ya Boi Zack
Funny cuz I used to binge Richard's "negative" videos until he started taking SSRIs or Estrogen or whatever the fuck is making him act like a freak and I used to think Disparu was a bit too lenient in his reviews. Lately I've been binging Disparu.
He's not as relevant or fun to mock as someone like Hasan or MovieBob
I disagree. He is a secondhand cum eater and must be mocked. Actually Hasan is letting a porn whore live in his house so he probably is too.
It's so bizarre to me how in just a few short years "Comicsgate" degenerated into a bunch of fat, hideous old men acting like mean girls in high school, spending all day and night making up lies and shit to tear down the people they don't like over petty reasons.
Nerds are way worse. Mean girls usually cry and make up, or move on. Adult women who aren't trash don't do this. Adult (nerd) men will slap fight for years and fuck up their lucrative jobs and their lives for the most retarded shit imaginable. Usually baseless pride.

What good shows has Amazon made? Is he talking about ruining The Boys with modern American politics and "my wife's son", or is he talking about ruining Invincible with pseudo-feminism and endless celebrity cameos?
I can't think of a single Amazon show that I thought was great, so I don't have a good answer for that. That's not to say I never watched any shows on Amazon (though I don't now that they've added advertising) but they weren't shows made by Amazon. Truthfully, I just keep Amazon Prime around for discounts on shipping and if they try to spin off their channel into a separate service with a separate charge (which I've heard they plan to do if they ever manage to get a hit show) I will just drop it. For entertainment I sometimes buy shows on Amazon but they keep screwing that up (for example, deleting episodes of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia for being offensive even if you paid for those seasons). So I think I'll just order Blurays from them as long as they still offer those for sale from now on.

What good shows has Amazon made? Is he talking about ruining The Boys with modern American politics and "my wife's son", or is he talking about ruining Invincible with pseudo-feminism and endless celebrity cameos?
the only good show Amazon made is Clarkson's farm and thats it, not even May or Hammond and even the Grand Tour was good. and if you think about it, saying Amazon made the show is the same as tipping OF thots will make them your girlfriend

Not really? His fans would use him as proof that they are not homophobic. His sexuality has been kept outside his content at least.

But people could have heard of the Jawbreakers if he did not abandon it so soon. Kamen America was not built in a day and EJ had many projects and staff. All Zack had to do was to build a business and hire staff but noooooooooo, it had to be the Zack show, everything had to be made by His Autisty. He could not stand having to make his business a proper job so he didn't. Everything had to look like it was made by teenagers borrowing their parents' money because that is the Zack way. The Rippa-team and Kamen America are proof that being indie does not mean you have to suck.
From what I'm seeing Rippaverse and Iconic are both the most liked comic companies in the Indie industry so far. I REALLY don't understand the hate these people give them, and CLEARLY people have read ISOM considering I see reviews from people who actually do and they enjoy it too it seems among other Rippaverse books too, hell HE read ISOM and even gave it a good review on his YouTube channel in the commentary section a while back. People also like Iconic as well and I also see that Kamen America is not the only book they sell either. The dishonesty they do is just embarrassing now.

"What am supposed to get into at the age of 51? Early Etruscan pottery? Pachinko?"

What a baffling thing to say. Ignoring that you live in 2025 with access to almost all the worlds media for free with a few keystrokes, tutorial videos for any interest or hobby you can think of and powerful AI models to create whatever you want with some practice, why is THIS a concern worth mentioning at age 51?

-- Ya Boi Zack, https://archive.ph/uHPts
Richard seeks out negative content. It might surprise you, but I don't watch most of the people Zack hates that much. Once in a while, sure, but I've kind of gotten bored by them over time. I don't hate them, and they don't always give negative reviews to everything.
Ironically I stick with them for their positive coverage. I found Nerdrotic very early on in his career when he mostly only covered Doctor Who. That was the one franchise I was fully invested in for most of my life, watching every episode, reading every novel and listening to every audio play I could get my hands on until just after the 50th anniversary where the writing took a nosedive and the production just went under a massive woke overhaul. Gary didn't make me hate the show, the show made me hate the show but I got some laughs out of his content because he was one of the only other people that still cared and was knowledgeable enough about it to cover it. Over that 7 year time I've probably watched 8 shows and 20+ movies at his or someone on his panels recommendation all of which I really enjoyed.

Well, Urinal Licker may try and make it out to be some big falling out, but Jeremy and Eric don’t seem to think so.
Jeremy is a retarded homosexual redneck and like all retarded homosexual rednecks he will start a screaming match with anyone at the drop of a hat without even understanding the full context of the conversation. He has probably gotten into a screaming match with everyone in that sphere at least once, if they're on FNT it's happened multiple times. Anyone trying to to make this a gotcha just exposes they don't actually watch the people they hate so much.

Mark Hamil didn't offer grace to calling trumps grandchildren nazis for dressing as storm troopers, nor when he got shot he mocked the validity of it. It's gross he's using the "He'S aBouT to DeI" when there is zero implications of having failing health.
Disney character assassinated Luke in TLJ and Mark Hamil's twitter account character assassinated Mark Hamil irl.

This is the damage bad sequels and mishandled franchises do, he might have been a childhood hero to a lot of people but the sequels literally destroyed the entire reason why that might have been the case. It retroactively ruins the original content.

"I think I hate this greasy piece of shit more than I hate Al Qaeda. 100% of the things he says are negative." -- Ya Boi Zack, https://archive.ph/rnA6Z
Ironically he took that clip from a stream where 1/5 of the streams run time was just praising pre-woke era Doctor Who and explaining to a guest that was super young why the show was so liked in the first place.

"[Nobody READS these "books".]"

Multiple hyper successful campaigns, multiple fan meet-ups, book signings and multiple comic convention booths and panels over the past year. EJ sure is treating this like people read and are actually interested in the books he's putting out.

If he was just grifting them as culture war war bonds he'd be doing things like I dunno, doing fucky things with shipping so he can pocket more of the money or putting up new campaigns when old ones go unfulfilled. Maybe save some money by not hiring any employees, maybe save some more by bumming on one of his friends couches.

I gave up on western comics over a decade ago but I might have to give these a read just to spite Zack.

He's the only one willing to speak up!
There are a few large breadtuber channels that have tried to go after drinker's content, some videos reaching 200k+ views. That's not even taking into account the constant botted call out against nerdrotic and drinker on xtwitter that's happened for years. The Mexican that threw a hissy fit over one of Nerdrotics clips being titled "Let's Taco bout Blue Beetle" on twitter is an all timer.

But Zack is the only one brave enough to do it while pretending to be right wing and straight.

Also Zack mentions his age again in these clips, is he going through a post-mid-life crisis?

What good shows has Amazon made? Is he talking about ruining The Boys with modern American politics and "my wife's son", or is he talking about ruining Invincible with pseudo-feminism and endless celebrity cameos?
The Terminal List was very enjoyable and I'm looking forward to Season 2. I've heard Reacher is very good but I've not watched it personally.

Knowing Zack he probably thinks The Boys is amazing biting social commentary and Homelander is a parody of Critical Drinker or something.

He's just upset because he's realized he is going to die. The only thing is, for a perfectly ordinary mid-life crisis, his reaction to it being, "I will become Slop-Crusader, Defender of Corporate Products," is pretty weird. Whatever happened to buying a convertible or starting a torrid love affair? I imagine his project to break in to comics failing spectacularly is also preying on him, but that failure is pretty much his own fault and he can either double down and work very hard to start over or he can admit his failure and move on. To me it's kind of scary that he got a business loan for his comics business and he doesn't seem to have a comics business anymore.

The reason I don't really feel any sympathy for him is that he realizes other middle aged men are in the same boat of being lonely and not having meaningful relationships and his reaction to them is not empathy but to put them down. (Frankly, I imagine that most of them are handling being 50+ better than he is.)

At his age, I wouldn't be thinking of going back to school or anything like that, but I would be thinking about how to use the skills I acquired in life to make a living. He's done a lot of different things, surely he could start a business in something less volatile than comic books. He might even be able to use his business loan for it if he kept it under his current company's logo.

I REALLY don't understand why people continue to call EJ a culture War Grifter. The clues that people like his products and have read the products are so obvious at this point, you have to be disingenuous or obtuse at this point to still be repeating all that. They actually think just because THEY don't like it that it's automatically bad. How delusional and detached from reality does somebody have to be to think that? I read some reviews from people, CLEARLY they have read it. If they are waiting for the Rippaverse to go out of business, well.....They're going to be waiting a very long time because I just don't see it happening. From the reviews they do sound very interesting...hell I Maven decide to buy ISOM, because NOW these niggas have me curious now.

It's projection.

EVS is not producing anything at a reasonable pace or volume, and if he doesn't keep drumming up that "Ugh, July's books are ugh the worst and he is totally ruining the integrity of Comicsgate ugh!", he fears that his tard paypigs will wise up and give their money to July instead. Right now, the present "elite" in Ethan's circles are nearly all completely irrelevant and totally who, and they need the copium that no matter how bad they are, July has to be worse.

The fact that he still have people hanging on to the greying hairs of his scrotal sack with this nonsense shows that his followers are... not that bright, let's just say. Probably of the same brainpower caliber as Zack.

Yeah, I looked into reviews about ISOM 1 AND 2, there is a lot of people who like them. The way they describe it sounds very interesting and it makes ME want to buy them now. I've never seen A more braindead cult of haters I've only ever seen derangement like this with 2 people. J.K Rowling and Donald Trump, but that was mostly for political opinions, THESE retarded mother fuckers are a special kind of stupid over a book that isn't even political. As for @FROG his pay pigs already ARE wiseing up. Slowly but surely. The drama is already starting to dry up and it's not even close to getting as many viewers as it used to. But at this point that's the only content he has so....can't do much about it.

It’s a whole thing now of people making art and such.
A talented man can make gold out of shit. A talentless man can make shit out of gold. Zack had IPs like Jawbreakers and Expendables and screwed them up. Meanwhile, others can make a charming story about his AI powered mockery of Kamen America. His "gotcha" was that "Silly Burger Girl" was what others were acting like they wanted only for people to love the concept and made stuff better than his for free as a joke.

War bonds. Movement. Stalin."

Spot on impression. You truly captured his pretentiousness disguised as integrity.

He retcons his own opinion all the time. Pay no attention.

EJ is doing what Zack thought impossible by starting his own company and filling it with talented people. Zack wanted that too but due to his personality being hard to work with others he fucked everything up. He always tried the easy way even if it came with long term problems.

I REALLY don't understand why people continue to call EJ a culture War Grifter. Grifter is the new Nazi. It is what you call someone you do not like.

CG lost its integrity long before EJ made ISOM.

ISOM is decent. By modern western comics standards, it might as well as be Shakespeare. As for EVS and his paypigs, he was not entertaining enough to keep up the charade. They got bored, started thinking and his urinal adventures happened right when their brains were working again.

If ISOM is so good and decent, than I REALLY don't understand why these people try to make it look so bad. It can't really be something as petty as jealousy....I mean come on, is that REALLY the reason? No way anyone normal would throw this much of a fit over a comic book of all things. No one normal anyway. Because if that's REALLY the reason, than that's just sad.

It IS envy. EJ came into the scene and humiliated pros left and right by doing what they said could not happen and gets to sign autographs over far more established names such as EVS. Imagine an upstart showing up on a veteran with ease.

Well if that's the case then it's just pathetic. I mean all they do is criticize the man"which seems more along the line of vitriol at this point" and they can't even get their own stuff done. Even IF Eric's as bad as he try to stay he is, at least he's getting his stuff done. They have no excuses.

Women hold grudges too believe me. But the all nerds thing... the majority of comic nerds are terrible not just comicsgate. That's what drives people to comicsgate where they learn comicsgate is also stupid.
What good shows has Amazon made? Is he talking about ruining The Boys with modern American politics and "my wife's son", or is he talking about ruining Invincible with pseudo-feminism and endless celebrity cameos?
I liked the Peripheral but it was cancelled. Disappointing the strikes ended it but was good enough to make me want to read the novel. Man in the High Castle was quality though very loose adaptation of PKD. The anthology of Phillip K Dick shorts Electric Dreams was decent.

From what I'm seeing Rippaverse and Iconic are both the most liked comic companies in the Indie industry so far. Only in this weird bubble of online and crowdfunding. it's less indie comics and more the comics sektur. I don't think this stuff has reached the average comics fan if there even still is such a thing.
Ironically I stick with them for their positive coverage. I found Nerdrotic very early on in his career when he mostly only covered Doctor Who. I also found Nerdrotic thru his Doctor Who reviews of the first Jodie Whitaker season. He knows what's up, I watched all the old ones too. I already was giving up on DW and Star Trek before I saw his and RLM reviews so they were only confirmation. But I couldn't get into his livestreams really. Building a big community and getting superchats is great for business but awkward for a casual watcher.
Yeah, I looked into reviews about ISOM 1 AND 2, there is a lot of people who like them.
Just read them here https://readcomiconline.li/Comic/Isom buy them if you want to, stop blogging about your internal struggle of deciding.
