The irony is the woke comics pros with their sinecures at DC/Marvel feel exactly the same about manga as EVS, Zack and the rest of the ComicsGate grifters do: They fear it as something that will dislodge them from their comfort and security.

Hot take though: I kinda hate the woke pros less now.

Because while they certainly need to quit their bitching, and try harder, they do at least put out a product. Mediocre though it may be.

Meanwhile, Ethan and Zack are irate over the fact somebody much rather order a manga off Amazon, with next day shipping, than give the money to them in exchange for a vague promise of a comic sometime within the next 700 years.

Both are stupid, but the latter takes absurdity to a whole other level.

These people have zero set standards as to what constitutes quality and success. It's whatever suits the narrative they're trying to spin at the time.

First, it's not super-soldier capeshit which is YaNiggaZack's jam.

Second, a LOT of anime contains whimsy, which repels Ya super-soldier Zack

Third, a lot of people who don't like anime tend to be put off because of how anime tends to depict male heroes looking as androgynous, expressive-faced, big-eyed, small-nosed, small mouth ephebes, at least by traditional western standards. While this may be valid criticism, in Zack this is multiplied by a factor of 50 or 100 because it's the least macho-super-soldiery thing you can do in fiction.
