He has a real job, hates dealing with customers asking for their comics/refunds, loves modern media slop and hates the people who criticise said slop.
He makes videos and community posts every day because he has nothing else going on in his life outside of working and consuming media.

@Edgeymcedgename Man...... YBZ needs to get over Eric July already. Attacking grammar, saying his books are terrible, and ignoring the fact that his work and the way he talks isn't any better, if anything it's much worse, and if Rippaverse was so terrible it would have gone out of business by now, instead it's still around 4 years later and counting, so clearly people enjoy what they read.... Besides it's pretty obvious he's using AI to make himself look smarter. And EVS is just as pathetic defending him. Neither of them are conservative or even Christian, and at this point BOTH of their audience are full of braindead clowns. I never thought I would see the day when someones continued success makes them envious to the point where they become obsessive. 🙄 YBZ doesn't even make books anymore, he just cries all the time and EVS is having a hard time getting anything he endorses to 5K or 10K never mind 100K at this point, and he STILL isn't done with the books he promised. Btw EVS threw a complete temper tantrum over somebody giving his cyberfrog blood honey book a good review but not a great review.....so much for taking criticism. 🙄 Both these men are as soft as tissue paper.

Well. The war on Eric July seems completely motivated by a need on his part to please daddy frog (Ethan Van Sciver). Its never helped his channel at all and has mostly just cost him viewers. The general lines of criticism from him on Eric July never really make much of any sense. Richard who built his whole brand on being an outsider who wanted to make comics wanting to gatekeep people out of comics for not making "good" comics is beyond insane. Because there is nothing Eric July has done - other than be more successful - that Richard has not done as well. Richard is the last person to gatekeep anyone from making comics based on arguments about quality.

Richard trying to re-cast himself as a hip, young social justice zoomer, defender of women, fighting the old uncs and their evil political right, demanding everyone consume maximum slop and cheering for Gail Simone is slightly more difficult to figure out. Because its so nonsensical and so stupid. It doesn't really serve Van Sciver's interests. It drives away his entire audience. But he is really committed to the re-brand. So much so that he erased all his old history so he can pretend that social justice richard was always social justice richard.

His war on the critical drinker can be understood in two ways. The first is that Richard has always had shit taste in movies and TV. He loves slop. Years ago, he loved The Last Jedi and gave it positive review that he later took down when it became the wrong opinion to have. The YA kid drama of Star Fleet Academy somehow does inexplicably speak to Richard and what he wants in media. The other side of it is that his attacks on the drinker are attacks on a massively more popular streamer just to get attention for himself.

Alot of Richard's hot takes these days though do seem unhinged though. He fits more of the "old unc" thing he talks about than the targets of his criticism.

Even when he was pretending to be a conservative, Richard was always a pretty obnoxious Fedora tipping atheist whose bête noire is Ned Flanders. He did make a video of his own personal Jesus today though (aka The Critical Drinker). I didn't watch it, perhaps I never will.

At this point comicsgate or anyone that tries to fit in by siding with it are all one big group of mentally ill bad jokes, especially to people from the outside looking in. If it's not clear that's the case by now, than I don't know WHAT they expect to happen.

I have to disagree on this somewhat. While he wants to please his master, he also hates Eric for the same reason EVS does. Eric exposed their grift and that's horrible.

I think these two are related. He hates CD so he became "woke" to counteract him. I also think he is sad that the Big 2 didn't recognize his talent after all this and he tries to get their attention. He probably wants to fuck brown women and/or men as well.
