I can understand his skills being acknowledged and having a good role/job on it, but another rich superhero is getting tiring. Batman and Stark have the 'no actual superpowers, just technology and money' and Black Panther has king drama to counterbalance. Spiderman, I just don't get the image. The only sense I see in it is that they gotta get rid of him to make space for the mixed kid spiderman...not very exciting.
And that's you include the standard problems he could still have despite getting his decent job, given he's still only given an upper-middle wage, thus keeping him humanized and relatable to audiences. He lives in New York, have him still have trouble paying for the better flat he lives in due to rent being nuts. Maybe have him struggle with money given he's not used to having so much; he goes into debt at points due to management. Have him deal with in work stress due to deadlines given he's still not a boss in the outfit and he's only paid a degree better than he usually is. Fuck, have him get caught in a war between two responsibilities, the one to Uncle Ben where he still goes out as Spiderman, the one he has to his loved ones as a nephew and a significant other to his GF, and the duty he has to his job and livelihood.

Pete doesn't have to be a fucking loser like this; it's the awkward and enbubbled writers who for whatever reason fucking hate the character getting anywhere in life seem to have that problem.

The weird thing about Spidey is he always was pretty damn smart and had marketable skills that often got ignored in the comics. After all, as a teenager he used a mix of chemicals and other stuff from a science kit he had to make an industrial strength adhesive that was self dissolvable. He also gadgeted up a device to spray it as strands or webbing from hand using a bevy of spare parts. Him being a CEO is shortsighted, but I wouldn't have minded a Pete that became a Starktech man with his own design team... in competent hands.

Kind of like how I wouldn't mind Laura taking Logan's mantle... if it was done in competent hands and not that Honey Badger shit.
They did have him briefly work as a high school science teacher and later, as part of a think tank which could've gone somewhere. But that status quo though...

He was one of the top designers at Horizon Labs...until Doc Ock took over his body and burned his bridges with his boss. I liked Pete's interactions with the crew and his boss.

On a slightly related note: as annoying as America Chavez is, the idea of a homeless college gal superhero was interesting.

why would someone with superpowers be homeless unless they were lazy or a shitty person or whatever

even if your power was merely "twice as strong as average" you'd do great in construction or any heavy industry, if you had super reaction times you could play video games for a living, never mind exotic shit like flight and super speed like Chavez had

No superpower can overcome the writer's agenda.

I don't know, one thing I've found extremely irritating about how Marvel has handled some of their legacy characters is that they keep picking ones like X-23 and Kate Bishop who explicitly stated in the past that they don't want to be legacy characters and wanted to find their own identities the way characters like Nightwing have - Laura especially since its been a common theme with her that she doesn't want to end up like her father.

It just seems to drive home that the people at the helm don't really know or care about anything that came before them. Which might also explain the very same-y millennial social media obsessed personality every female character at Marvel seems to have now.

Are Dan Slott and Mark Waid back yet? It feels like forever since I've heard anything new about them trying to get into internet fights instead of improving their writing.
Like i said before Waid quit social media. He'll come back when Trump says something that his dumbass can make into a snarky remark.
Mark Waid's Facebook (Archive), just like his Twitter (Archive) was abandoned a day after D&C made this video:
Dan Slott quit twitter...again (4th time this year). I don't know when he did it.

In other news i found this on 4chan and 8chan, Mags Bingo:

EDIT: In case it isn't obvious it's for the Dazzler one-shot that Marvel gave her:

I literally only changed one word, which was "shirt" to "needle", all the other dialog is the same.
what font is that? Ive always wondered.

What... What am I looking at here? Is that a legitimate page from spider-man? He's wearing that shirt but also making a move the needle reference and calling himself the world's biggest loser while he apparently shoots up - is this supposed to be aimed at someone or did the writer and artist just flip out autistically?

I mentioned this writer a couple pages back, but it's worth repeating that this is the same writer who decided to retcon an older story about Mockingbird where she was drugged, raped, and then killed her rapist... by making it so that she had cheated on her husband with the guy before murdering him and lying about being raped to cover up the affair in the name of giving Mockingbird "agency," and then went on to make several comments on Twitter that expanded on an implication she made in the comic that Mockingbird was just "too strong" to ever succumb to drugs, which didn't go down too well with fans. In fact, when she later went on to sob about needing to block 8 whole people on Twitter, it turned out about 4 of them were rape victims calling her out on her bullshit.

"Ask Me About My Feminist Agenda" indeed.

Zack name dropping us on twitter is guaranteed to bring out the spergs. :story: I'm already picturing the multiple cow crossovers.

Marvel is really pissing me off, I want to love them and make good stories but this SJW bullshit is getting out of control. This is why i give up on the current comic market, Is their any good indie comic companies with good comics?
They are almost all infected to various degrees.:(

Alterna seems like the sole shining light on the indie scene. I've only heard good things about them. Scrimshaw in particular (though I haven't read that one to confirm).

You also got (lolcow?) Vox Day running some kind of anti-SJW company.

Each individual square of that bingoboard are literally responsible for the death of at least one transgendered person.
