Honestly the plot reminds me more of an 80's Saturday Morning Cartoon than anything in the 90's. Maybe even further like Johnny Quest.

Depends what Waid actually did himself. I could see tortious interference with contract or unfair competition or slander. He isn't responsible for what other nutjobs did, though, unless he can be proven to have colluded with them rather than merely agreeing with them.

It reallly says a lot about how superhero genre right now that the fuckin' Power Rangers comics are easily the best superhero books on market. Fucking Boom is making better superhero comics.

Boom. The studio that, until getting that license, sustained itself largely off of Adventure Time and Steven Universe comics.
 
I just saw the Avengers and it was pretty awesome. Robert Downey is still great as Iron Man. The ending sucked though, but I won't spoil it if you didn't see it, so I will put it under a spoiler.

The ending would be great and ambitious if they just stopped the MCU right there, but they aren't idiots so that ain't happening.

/co/'s always had a small clique of SJW elitist sadfags that like to post up a storm. It's probably only two or three people just non-stop crying that an old man managed to make 5k copies of his silly book fly off the shelf.

He's getting a lot of acclaim for being the "SAVIOR/KILLER OF COMICS" when his comic looks... well like shit. It looks like a mediocre comic that would've gotten exactly zero fanfare if a bunch of dipshits in the industry didn't shriek at him for making fun of their comics.

He's basically a monster of their own creation. I had zero idea who the fuck he even was until they started screeching about how terrible he is, when he's just some dumbass who makes terrible videos on youtube and would've wallowed in obscurity otherwise.

Hit the nail on the head. D&C would be just another low to mid-tier comic commentator on youtube at BEST had the SJW comics cabal not gone after him. Instead they streisanded him to notoriety and now his indiegogo has made like 1000000% of its funding for something that looks like an average schlock-action comic.

I always like telling the story about once being in a thread about the "Iceman was gay" reveal not making sense and getting accused of being part of a vast /pol/ conspiracy because one poster was suspicious about people not instantly replying in the middle of the night. They kept saying things like "What more do you want? You fuckbois are going to win anyways when they send him back to the past and in the closet" or getting frustrated with people who suggest Iceman could've been bi as that poster couldn't wrap his head around someone "questioning their sexuality" that wasn't 500% gay.

Their erratic behavior was surreal even by 4chan standards and I hope they've seen someone about their blatant identity issues. It was the most "/co/mblr" moment I've had on the board.
 
When is Mark Waid just going to be arrested? He's gone from annoying to bullying to doing things that are straight up abusive and should be illegal. It'll be a happy day when he gets sent to prison because he decided bullying retailers was an easier and more moral decision to make than making good comics that actually sell. Mark isn't "the strong". These actions should expose him as one of the biggest cowards ever. Jawbreakers might not be Golden (or even Silver) age material, but the fact that Mark is so afraid of it is making it look extra good right now.

And BTW, for those of who who "just enjoy the MCU but don't really care about comics", Marvel executives (the TOP people) are planning on making movies based around the characters that don't sell and have destroyed their company. Push has come to shove.

Well, there is the comics crash of the 90s, so they're probably trying to insinuate he's just retreading old, failing ground.

They lack the self-awareness to realize that they are merely trailblazing failure in new and innovative ways. Were the comics creators of the 90s this effective at driving away customers by being such unrepentant assholes to them using the social media equivalents of the time?

I blame homestuck and, to a lesser extent, Adventure Time tbh. That shit ruined the fucking board by courting the tumblrites so much.

the difference is that Marvel Studios is a shitload more competent than the comics guys. Chances are we'll get the usual MCU movies and it'll be fine.
