It is much harder to argue against CG as there isn't a central figure like a Zoe or Anita for the harassment narrative to center around, instead it's a bunch of Twitter psychos shrieking. It is kind of like if the central people of GG had been Beks & Nora Reed, really hard for anyone to want to really rally around them.
The closest thing to Zoe or Anita in this is probably Marvel as a business. Of course that isn't the same since a corporation isn't a single person. Honestly I doubt this would've really played out the same if it was only indies going down this weird path.

The absolute most I can say against the Comicsgate crowd is that I don't like their video style of just flicking on OBS and rambling, but I get that's me being spergy.
There’s re some that do go the extra mile when making their videos:
Mim Headroom:

The indies scene was the first to be taken over by SJW, nobody cared because the mainstream comics (capebooks) were still about heroes being heroes. Once the bleeding into the mainstream started people liked it, it felt fresh, but that didn’t last long. Give them an inch, and they start tearing down the industry. There’s a place for their style of comics but they started replacing and changing things to fit their taste at the cost of lifelong fans and now we have CG.

They were okay with him continually acting like a complete shithead and insulting their customers for a long time. Actually exposing them to a possible FTC case and a lawsuit that could cost the Mouse a lot of money is not something they're likely to overlook.

If Waid really did swing his dick at AP and dropped Marvel's name in the process, that both sets a terrible precedent and can get Mark's ass shitcanned by the big M. Marvel isn't going to sit back and let their employees abuse their name to win internet slap fights, and most creators won't be too keen on spergs like Waid having the power to fuck their careers up with a single email or phone call.

People keep missing an important element here. Up until this point a Waid and those like him’s Antics have been confined to the Marvel Comics company. Which is its own little fiefdom in the Empire of the Mouse. Nobody at corporate has really given much of a crap about the annoying smelly funny book people in New York, beyond Igor stepping in a few years back to wall them off so they wouldn’t bother Kevin Feige and the Billion Dollar movie people anymore. For the past few years Marvel Comics has literally been Disney’s unwanted retarded kids locked in the attic. Disney hasn’t cared what they do so long as they don’t shriek too loudly and annoy the neighbors. In that small club Waid was protected by friends such as Tom Brevoort the Assistant EiC and his long body of work. (Astonishingly he was once one of the best writers in the business. And I say this as someone who loathes him as a human being.) So within Marvel Waid has had protection.

But things just got kicked upstairs. And a Emperor Mouse is not pleased. His Marvel friends can protect a Waid from customer accountability. But they can’t shield him from Lord Mouse. Here’s the thing that will BURY the Marvel Comics office. The Youtuber ThatUmbrellaGuy found this yesterday.
Disney’s company wide, plain language published ethical standards for all employees. Complete with chapter titled Anti-Compatitive Business Practices, that pretty much describes exactly what a Waid did as a huge Nono. What are the bets that somewhere in the records is a signed sheet indicating that Mark Waid attended the required Ethics training? Show of hands, who sees how much fun this could be?

The absolute most I can say against the Comicsgate crowd is that I don't like their video style of just flicking on OBS and rambling, but I get that's me being spergy. Otherwise, Zach has largely kept his private life away from this outside of instances like Tim Doyle digging up his child support payments.

See the guy I linked above. ThatUmbrellaGuy. He is more Comicsgaters Business Analyst. He does a more thoughtful less rambling presentation typically digging down into the hard numbers and Business Practices. Yeah it can get a bit dull at times. But it’s not a coughing dude rambling into his cell phone in a parked car.

I like how the CG crowd has been mostly taking a less autistic high road. The anti cg group been a riot of woke stupidity. I am really hoping Waid gets shit canned and Tim Doyle gets a libel suit tossed his way. I want the salt mines to overflow.

People forget, actual comic buying fans are almost universally well educated well read often professional middle aged middle class males. This is not a crowd of obnoxious basement dwelling neckbeards who shout trash talk on the internet. (Heck technically neither are the gamers.) Contrast that with the mangy pink haired dumpster diving tumblrina troons that seemingly infest the comic industry these days and you quickly realize why the Comicsgaters seem the more reasonable people.

It's hard to claim you're "punching up" when you are using your position as an employee of one of the two biggest comic book publishers in the world to shut down a totally indie comic. You just look like a corporate piece of shit bullying people, a book burning Nazi yourself.

ETA: changed to note post below.

I think you mean punching up. Punching down is using his position of influence and power to shut down an indie work.

I really thought things were calming down with all the pros keeping quiet while Jawbreakers was getting crowdfunded. Who the fuck would have guessed the gigantic chimp out that would be coming. Shits getting good and I got a feeling we haven’t even reached the climax.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think we'd see notable comic creators straight up break trade laws over an indie book. If you could convert exceptionalism to electricity we could power the planet with these spergs alone.

Guy brings up a good point. Most of the time when stores decide not to stock something, they just, y'know, don't stock the thing. They don't make a whole dog and pony show of it.

I think the biggest indication that it was a random burglary is the fact that only money was stolen. Let's be real, comic fans would at least pick up a few back issues. Maybe clear out all the RPG rulebooks or take a booster box of Magic cards. What kind of nerds loot a store and leave the stock untouched?

If it was an act of vengeance by angry Comicsgaters sent by the evil Mastermind D&C don’t you think they might have vandalized the place a bit? To you know, deliver a message? Instead they damaged the smallest, least obtrusive and least expensive window in the place, and simply emptied the loose change out of the cash register. And astonishingly CTV’s crack reporters and producers never stopped to ask questions about this, or even call to ask if a police report had been filed, before publicly blaming and shaming Richard Meyer for it. I’m not quite sure how Canadian Libel
Laws work, or quite what the ethical obligations of their publicly funded journalists are. But this would seem to be well in violation of both, would it not?

Bleeding Cool finally notices the CrowdFunding...
...and does a truly one-sided hatchet job. If anything even more biased than Breitbart. Which takes some doing.
This is normal for them.

EDIT: This is like 99% of their “reporting”, within the comic news world they’re treated as absolute scum. Even the SJWs that they obviously try to pander to, hate them to the core when they don’t go far enough. I remember an article taking shots at D&C and one of the troons was angry at Rich Johnston because he didn’t cover those times D&C said mean things about the troons he deals with.

SJWs are, as ever, their own worst enemy. They could've just let D&C have his unremarkable G.I. Joe expy comic. They could have just let him crank out a few issues and then fade into obscurity. But instead

Canadian libel laws are actually much closer to the UK libel laws the U.S. has rejected. They're much closer to putting the burden on the defendant to prove his statements were true, while in the U.S., the plaintiff absolutely has to prove the statements were false.

It comes down to whether that troon or unfortunate looking actual woman were actually stating it as a fact that Richard Meyer teleported to this shitty comic shop and busted it up, or whether it was some kind of "fair comment."

It's hard to think that just deliberately falsely accusing someone of being a Nazi while openly colluding on Facebook with others to spread this clearly false message is not at best libel.

Wait, so Mark Waid says he DID talk to the Antarctic Press guy per Bleeding Cool. Antarctic Press says they got a message and no actual call happened.

Did Bleeding Cool accidentally make Mark Waid look even worse by revealing that either he or Antarctic is lying? Either scenario is pretty bad for Waid because it means he lied to the press or he's confirmed that he was mad enough about a nobody's book that he just HAD to call and get it cancelled from distribution.

Bleeding Cool was simply showing a screen shot of Waid himself announcing that he had spoken with and pressured Antarctic Press into cancelling Jawbreakers. As in Waid was actually doing the Super Villain monologing and cackling. C B Cebulski, Marvels EiC had him delete it all the next day, but the damage had been done.

Everyone in this thread is ignoring the true victims of all this, the Nazi party being associated with vile monsters like Richard C. Meyer.

Their's also the practical fiscal value of some of the items, for example the store down the road from me has a unopened mage the ascention tarot deck (£100) an infinity gauntlet (£150) and a mint condition origional G1 transformer (no idea its not for sale) Not to mention the fancy pants crafted game dice . If you're going for spiteful destruction you'd damage these items to remove fiscal value because as a nerd you know how much these things are fiscally and emotionally worth, it's one of the funnier aspects of when counter-culture stores get robbed is junkie scum walk past a piles of money to get to the insurable 200 dollars in the till.

According to Zack, the Antarctic Press social media accounts aren’t runned by the owner. And the guy running it had ties to Marvel. AP has changed their story 4-5 times now, Zack is still at his first.

Also Zack made a response to that article:
