Probably one of the better examples of this is Neonomicon and Providence. Moore wrote Neonomicon having very little knowledge or interest in the works of H.P. Lovecraft (which it riffs off of); by his own admission,he mostly wrote it for tax money. But, and here's the important thing, he still tried to produce the best work he could, and he wrote a decent four-issue miniseries. A few years later, he actually got into Lovecraft, and decided he wanted to write his own take on the Cthulhu Mythos. So, before writing anything, he read all of Lovecraft's major stories, his poetry, and almost every notable volume of literary analysis of Lovecraft's works he could. Then he wrote Providence, and it was brilliant (kind of a "Lovecraft by way of Twin Peaks story", so you have to like both those things to start with).Arguably, the movie is an example of exactly what American SJW culture would do to Alan Moore, although ironically, current American comics would do it even worse. Alan Moore hated it (no surprise as he hates every single adaptation of his work) largely because it reflected a watered-down American liberalism, which he detests. It doesn't entirely eliminate any moral ambiguity in V, but it certainly underplays some of the true malevolence of the character and portrays him as a hero against the evil right wing, endorsing his ends-justifies-the-means tactics.
The book didn't do that.
Anyway, Moore is an example to compare the shit that is Marvel and DC to to put the lie to the nonsense that consumer dissatisfaction with shit content is because of some nonexistent wave of Nazism flooding over the landscape. Moore has consistently appealed to people of all political viewpoints, including those that probably completely disagree with his personal politics, which are oddball enough probably nobody shares them all.
However, his content has consistently been top-notch, and instead of relentlessly and mindlessly flogging some dumb political doctrine that isn't even his own (the SJW way is to conform mindlessly to the shared delusions du jour), he goes out of his way to portray even the villains as actual understandable characters, to the extent he even has villains at all.
Compare to nu-Marvel "right side of history" bullshit. To call the characterizations in this shit cartoonish is an insult to cartoons. Garfield has more moral ambiguity to it. Of course, to ideologues, ambiguity is itself evil.
Everything (or at least everything major) is bland, paint-by-numbers tripe without any artistry or craftsmanship involved. None of Marvel's writers seem willing or able to put the kind of time and effort Moore puts into his work.
They definitely can make more money if those page rate figures are correctBy this point, being a furry porn artist with a patreon feels like a more rewarding and dignified work than being the average comic book writer.
John's room-mate Lyman just vanished one day, and John's mentality has gone downhill ever since then.Garfield has more moral ambiguity to it. Of course, to ideologues, ambiguity is itself evil.
Nothing dishonorable about that. Heinlein started writing to pay off debts incurred after a failed run for public office.Probably one of the better examples of this is Neonomicon and Providence. Moore wrote Neonomicon having very little knowledge or interest in the works of H.P. Lovecraft (which it riffs off of); by his own admission,he mostly wrote it for tax money.

Maybe it's an issue with me but I never really understood celebrity endorsements and feel it's just a thing people do because it's a thing. I'm a young loser that reads comics and was raised in the internet era, why would I care about washed up TV actors and pretend like their word has any more value then a rando? It's like when the elections were going on and Hillary Clinton has basically every celebrity shilling for her in an attempt to win "the youth". I keep hearing names like Jay-Z and I have no fucking clue what that is or why I should care.Diamond's Publishing Numbers For June 2018 Note IDW Falling and Comics NOT Doing Well

That's really sad. You'd think this would be a sign they need to tone it down and they don't have much emotional maturity if they'd do that.

"THEY'RE PUTTING BABIES IN CAGES AND KILLING 80 BILLION TROONS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" and other autistic screeching.I don't care if you're a left-winger, a right-winger, a fascist, a communist, or a follower of the Church of Monday Night Football. If you're cutting out beloved relatives over politics, you're the one with the fucking problem.

If I was a celebrity worshiper, which is extremely dumb IMO, then wouldn't I be doing that and buying tabloids instead of comics? It just makes the people looking for endorsement look even more out of touch.

Outside of this list being mostly new "talent":DnC talked about this article in the video @damian posted above if anyone was interested in issues pros had with companies and page rates they receive. There's some real choice responses in there such as

I'm not surprised nor shocked, we're talking about people who posted on Thanksgiving that it's your duty to flip the table on your racist sexist nazi alt-right family members (AKA anyone who didn't vote for Hillary).>tfw hating your own family over dumb political bullshit

I'm not really sure how you'd go about it but there should really be some kinda rule about doing dumb political shit in public. I know the reactions already because it's always one of these two:I'm not surprised nor shocked, we're talking about people who posted on Thanksgiving that it's your duty to flip the table on your racist sexist nazi alt-right family members (AKA anyone who didn't vote for Hillary).
Whenever I check my alt account that follows "those" comic pros, it's like I'm looking into pre-school, the maturity level is on par with toddlers.
