What's weird about that camp is that I can't figure out what they stand to gain by preaching stuff like that. Let's take the oversimplified scenario those people like to put forward where male nerds apparently run the world and that male nerds are currently the driving force keeping misogyny and racism and all other sorts of bigotries alive. Why do they think that making jocks the socially dominant ones again would be an improvement? The defining features of macho jock culture are strict adherence to gender norms, valuing masculine above feminine, and keeping your place in a strict hierarchy that you're born into. Isn't that the kind of thing they stand against?
The first time I ran into someone like this, it was in a community I was observing for the lols before I knew KF existed, otherwise I would have shared it here. She was saying that larger, stronger men should beat up their weaker counterparts so women like her wouldn't have to deal with romantic advances from weak men.

I always think back to this whenever I see one of these “shifts”:
This was made at least a year before Yaboi Zack & CG spergs started doing crowdfunders.
Seems Benny (Comicstorian) and Rob (Comicsexplained) are getting involved in CG again after crying that they didn’t want to be involved:
50+ comic stores closing within 2 years is totally normal right?
Doesn’t really matter to him, since he mostly reads a comic and checks Wikipedia for extra trivia stuff.
Now I’ll be pretty upfront I like his videos, they’re pretty informative when I want to catch up on some things but I rarely feel the need to actually read the stories he’s covered because he combs through pretty much everything in his videos. He’s too thorough.
Now Benny on the other hand, is less detail focused and his videos do make me want to read some stories. He is uncounsiouly on CG’s side for as much as he virtue signals to the pros, he doesn’t do videos on unpopular stories. Anyone notice how many storylines he covers from the SJW trash. Not that many are there. His most recent:

Looked at the Bearcano comic again, which I think is some shitpost, after linking screenshots to someone and two things popped in my mind.
One, the "There's nothing wrong with my face" joke doesn't really work when most of what that interview resulted in was people saying Meyer looks like he had Helen Keller as a barber.
Two, if they hate nerds for "clinging to over glorified icons from their childhood" due to corporate marketing then why would they hate D&C over the people who want to appropriate said icons after giving them a new coat of paint as some kinda weird corporate owned symbol of societal change? Keep in mind that many of the nu-Marvel cast are already almost five years old, it's not going to be too long until they fall under "over glorified icons" of some poor sap's childhood especially with how they're hyped compared to the originals getting dragged through the mud.

That won't happen to these, though, because they don't appeal to kids in the first place. If any of this soy-based Marvel comics substitute is part of someone's childhood, I pity that poor bastard.

Of course, that's probably the case. I just don't get why they'd be approving of it if they claimed to hate "over glorified corporate icons". Can anyone honestly claim Steve Rogers is more over glorified after the Hydra Cap shitstorm as opposed to any of the substitutes who's "super smart, super athletic, they're well off, popular at school, every other hero babies them, and they face transracesexim JUST LIKE YOU!"?
More so since the main argument for them is this delusional idea that they can make it into movies and make Disney 2 zillian dollars and their existence will be a catalyst for positive social change, both due to "representation". They're half a step away from telling you that they can cure cancer if you rub the comics on yourself.

Part of the reason the MCU movies are still successful is they just flush the current Marvel woke shit down the toilet and do their own thing.

I think she's going for this, but even more quirky!
In their head cannon, they become the damsel in distress despite constantly railing against the trope. The handsome prince (jock) will come in beat up the ugly monster (nerd) and save the princess (them), sweep her off her feet and go live happily ever after. Of course this will never happen because most harpies look like harpies and jocks have better prospects, it's why only the icky nerds hit on them in the first place.

Some of these character might be some poor saps childhood heroes thanks to this train wreck:
Holy shit I don’t know why I decided to watch it, but the SG and Ms.M parts are an endurance test for cringe. Patriot and GhostSpider (SpiderGwen) had to be completely reworked for this show, they somehow made Ms. Marvel’s powers even lamer (how hard is it to write a power like shape shifting?), Squirrel Girl is so annoying it made my teeth hurt and finally Quake, she was okay.
In regard to the Ghost Spider comic, I have no idea why they think it’s a good a idea to put SpiderGwen into the 616? Is >10 different spider people still not enough?

i thought the miniseries was decent. not grand breaking, but way better than most of the shit from disney marvel shows.
