I'm Chloe Handler, internationally-ignored writer and artist. I've noticed a rise in bigotry within the comic book fan community in recent years. There is an overabundance of racism, sexism, homophobia, and transphobia. This stems from a group of men with a strong presence and following on social media. They are notorious for targeting and harassing marginalized people within the comic industry. In so doing, they have gained several followers in order to fund their own comic book publishing. How they got this far on a message of hate is astonishing. They are the "Astonishing Gaters".

When I read this it sounds like satire at first but I realize this was meant to be taken seriously and want my money.

It's an observation that applies to a lot of this now that I think about it. If they legitimately believed they're changing society then they should take it more seriously instead of....whatever you call their twitter drama.

For some reason this just got me thinking how much Gail Simone reminds me of Kathy Bates in "Misery". I mean, with the exception of course that Kathy Bates was a slightly sympathetic character.

Subtle differences in the face, mainly the eyes. The way the eyes are the focus of it all, even though it is a sexy subject. The viewer makes eye contact with the figure. The eyes are the most detailed part of it, with shaping and subtle make up. It looks like a woman drew it. After awhile you can kind of mentally sort the art as you glance at it and you will be correct about 98% of the time. Manga and Manga stylings it is especially easy to do this with. You can tell the Frank Cho art was drawn by a man, you can tell this one was drawn by a woman. I know we are not allowed to say this anymore, but men and women do perceive and record the world in slightly different ways. After you see enough of the art you just learn to pick it out.

I am have truly grown to hate the people on twitter that are anti comics gate. I have never met a pack of tedious assholes who are as narcissistic, simple minded and fucking stupid as these people. The creators are worse than the fans and they radicalize them. Makes me fucking sick

Howdy Lauren. Did you consider taking my advice to go back to accounting or whatever? I mean, it's not going to get you asspats (unless you can find a way to argue that Accounts Payable is a tool of the patriarchy) but it's more fulfilling than being autistic on the Internet.

Also, you can't seriously believe that being so repeatedly awful to people on Twitter would have no repercussions. Grow up.
