I mean....there was a time in the 90s that I'm surprised anti-CG never brings up. DC used to deal with HEAT, Hal’s Emerald Advancement Team. They were Green Lantern fanboys who lost their shit after DC during Hal Jordan into Parallax, killed off a large number of characters, and were making him into biggest villain at DC. I think they sent anthrax to writers at one point.

Not that well versed in it so that could be exaggeration.

No, you are correct, HEAT were an extreme bunch of nutjobs. I don't think there was anthrax involved, but I wouldn't be surprised if Ron Marz and co. have a bunch of death threats saved on file. If the Farms were around back in the days of HEAT, they'd likely have gotten their own community watch thread or something, they were that batshit insane. The only difference is that the internet -and thus, social media- was nowhere near as sophisticated as it is now, so their voices weren't nearly as magnified as, say, the SJW Twitter wingnuts or the pro-CG whackjobs.

Uh oh. Alterna's Peter Semeti is streaming, announcing a promotion called Alternamas where Alterna will donate a kid-friendly comic to Shriners hospitals for each comic sold to customers.

Cue dickheads atting the Shriners on Twitter and asking them why they're associating themselves with an alt-right Nazi white supremacist bigot in three… two…

They also paid $3500 to have this full page ad in Wizard magazine circa 1997.

Clearly money well spent because DC brought back Hal... in 2004.

My god, is Tess Fowler an insufferable cunt.

And someone really needs to tell Aaron that Tess isn't going to fuck him.

Sounds like they're repeating the insult Nicky Rackets said about Zaid gargling balls on the beltway, only replacing gargling testicles with washing them. These weirdos love to stalk and sift through their critics' stuff and bring it up forever after; almost like a creepy stalker with a desire to pork them.

Wait a minute... watch out Rackets, you having five children puts you on the market too!

But they always do it wrong because they just can't meme.

Because washing your balls is something you should do. If you don't you're disgusting.

None of these fucking creeps wash their balls! The filthy animals.

I think Yaboi mentioned that in the last EVS stream where he feels weird that he's gotten to the point that most of the people sperging about him aren't even people in comics, both industry people and as a hobby, anymore. He thinks they spend way too much time on twitter to really have a hobby.

I think you might make a case she's a fan, in a pathetic over 30 sagging titty cosplay way. I know she (rather bizarrely) posted a picture of herself with Mark Waid when Waid came to Texas, so she at least does get out to the occasional con. I think I muted her shortly after seeing that (who wouldn't?), though, and I have no link, sorry.

I guess a court won't consider Waid posing with Zach's stalker in chief as anything important; I've seen no evidence Waid has any real idea who she is.

Imagine being this assmad over the removal of Hal Jordan, the most boring stale toast super hero since Barry Allen. Parallax was the first time the character was actually interesting.

Eh, I can see why someone would be upset over a thing like that considering they made him into a genocidal supervillain. Green Lantern was in a weird place during that period. We probably had someone out there who cheered on Hydra Cap because Steve Rogers was "the most boring stale toast super hero".

Making any protagonist, in capeshit anyways, an antagonist for their replacement seems guaranteed to piss people off and I can't think of an example where it worked. Kyle Rayner's introduction did end up adding to the series so it did work out in the long run however.

Not sure how well it worked considering that they brought Hal back and sidelined Kyle. If you go to some GL fan sites then you'll get eternal John vs Hal vs Kyle "debates". Sure, in theory GL concept allows for multiple GLs, but in practice thats not how it works. One guy gets more attention and fans of other guys are pissed.

Modern DC has been pretty good at riding that line as far as the Green Lanterns go. Yeah Hal got the spotlight in the main book, but the Green Lantern Corp books gave the others the space they needed. And created some far more interesting dynamics. Such as Kyle and Guy.
