Eh, I can see why someone would be upset over a thing like that considering they made him into a genocidal supervillain. Green Lantern was in a weird place during that period. We probably had someone out there who cheered on Hydra Cap because Steve Rogers was "the most boring stale toast super hero".

Making any protagonist, in capeshit anyways, an antagonist for their replacement seems guaranteed to piss people off and I can't think of an example where it worked. Kyle Rayner's introduction did end up adding to the series so it did work out in the long run however.

I know this answer belongs in the normal comic sperging thread, but I think one of HEAT's other grievances was the destruction of the Corps, which removed an important part of the mythology, and took their sweet time bringing it back. They really milked the "last Green Lantern" idea for all it was worth.

At least Marvel still writes good cosmic stories, such as Thanos: The Infinity Conflict.

You can't easily infect cosmic stories with SocJus bullshit.

“Buy these shitty comics, idiots, and support awful people because muh agenda!!”

If you’re going to the comic store I highly recommend not buying or pre-ordering any of these.

I guess that’s a point. It’s hard to switch from rooting for a guy to rooting for the guy fighting him that quickly. I think the best examples of “this hero is a villain now” stories in comics seem to work with characters nobody actually give a shit about. I know they have their critics, but I honestly like characters like Monarch (the Hawk version) and Superboy-Prime.

I don't understand how it says something else?
Last year this time, the industry shrunk by 10% compared to the previous year, this year it went up by 0.4%. This means we're still 9.6% behind what it was two years ago.

Joey Q's expecting you to not get math and just be impressed at the positive number. Not even a good dent was made on that loss to catch up to where they were.

Well, it says sales were up 0.4% over October '17, but it also said there was one more Wednesday in October this year than in October '17. If that extra Wednesday weren't there, surely sales would have gone down compared to October '17.

Oh yeah, I keep forgetting Comichron has a Youtube:

Eh, that argument. I'm not really fond of it. Might as well ask how we are looking compared to five years ago? 2017 (when 10% drop happened) is at $522.25 Million, while 2013 (that had 9% increase!) is at $517.66 Million.

Sure it is bad that 10% drop happened, but if it was still higher than 5 years ago and this year stuff stabilized? Is it that catastrophic? Or how even those monthly stats show +17% increase over 10 years? Is industry crashing or findings its actual level outside of reboots and Star Wars?

looks like after they bitched about Ethan's art, they turn to Jon Malin. I guess this is their new thing.

"Naw, Malin can draw humans. It's that his humans are only attractive to the most boring people."

What does that even mean? That they're not morbidly obese, can be identified as either gender, covered in acne and piercings, have cotton candy hair and don't fit the current definition of 'diversity'?

Because I fail to see what the problem is.

Edit: beat me to it.

translation: "Malin doesn't draw all his characters as fat, racially ambiguous Muslim lesbians in wheelchairs"

Maybe. It's just difficult to judge it like that when Quesada's only showing that one month as if he's proud of that 0.4% that may or not actually exist due to that extra Wednesday. You're making points that are too nuanced for that kind of singular self-congratulating tweet.

Who is he even trying to impress with such weaksauce?
