I rather suspect that that is in fact EVS’s goal regarding REN and SJWSpiderman. Both seem to be breaching the normal boundaries and moving an Internet harrassment campaign offline. Lauren’s contacting every news agency and police department in a given state for example. She’s quickly gone past cow status and onto “somebody that needs to be in an FBI database”.
I think there have been a lot of excellent points on both sides of the CG debate. While I am definitely against the big 2 corporate comics, shitty pros and garbage books.
Lauren has become the very thing she thought she was fighting against. Now that she has an audience she realizes that her online antics can materialize as real world issues.

Reethan at least made -some- money.
What does Lauren have to gain at this point? They are calling the cops on each other acting like children.
They claim it's over comics. Wrong. It's all about politics.
Lauren and Reethan don't give a fuck about comics, just scoring virtue points so they can move onto the next controversial cultural phenomenon.
They are the same. And if Lauren hadn't gone nuts over the "dox" in the first place no one would have cared and it would probably have been deleted.

Yeah this doesn't look like a desperate move at all:

Captain Marvel (2019)
That picture is a perfect microcosm of Brie Larsen's effect on the core audience of these movies.

Also, I wonder if the EVS lawsuit is actually designed to ferret out the rumored connections between Marvel, Weber Shandwick and these cretins. If there are any.

This video is mostly about Vic stuff, but near the end at about 3:10:00 Nick talks about how Vox Day got deplatformed by Indiegogo and how his legal team found a way to hit back. I think it's relevant since Lauren and her gremlins keep targeting CG's Indiegogos.

Basically appointing them as your agent means they can't fuck with your money as that would be a huge breach of fiduciary duty, agent-principal relationship, and terms of use. Indiegogo dun goofed by having this section in their terms. I wonder if Nick told anyone in CG yet

That would be a very interesting play, but I don't think EVS is going for that. Wouldn't mind being wrong if it meant getting some good dirt on those spergs though

No, with or without that term, they're acting as some form of fiduciary and have an obligation to act in good faith.

I'd also argue (shooting entirely from the hip) that these sites have not only assumed a duty as fiduciaries, but whether or not they claim or disclaim it, are subject to constructive trust. They can't simply waltz off with the money or act against the interests of the party to whom the duty is owed.

(If anyone knows of a case where crowdsourcing specifically has been addressed on these issues, I'd be interested. I could be completely wrong.)

Can the judge order that Ethan and Ren just fuck it out with some hate sex? It’ll be livestreamed for donations of course, and everything will go great until Ren accidentally calls Ethan “Comics MATTER w/ Ya Boy Zach” in the middle of an orgasm.

I think the more interesting and obvious place where that same argument is going to come up is involving PayPal, who at this point surely must be falling under the definitions and obligations of a banking institution.

I don't think he answered the question. What's the motive? Why Russia? He already said "It doesn't take much to encourage man-babies to cry online" so doesn't that make any Russian involvement a non-factor, especially if we mean more "online man-babies" instead of a government conspiracy? Referencing bots also raises questions as he's jumping from simple program scripts to just random assholes from Russia without any distinction.

Yeah, I know I'm thinking about this more than he did but at least connect the dots with your theories.

I do plan to see Shazam though, as it looks like a fun romp.

It's amazing how when you make a movie about something you fundamentally think is worthy of filming on its own merit (superheroics), and had fun while you did it, its obvious even in the trailer? And how even the "best" bits of a movie done for political reasons with a thin coat of IP-paint splattered on top, about a character/universe you didn't care to learn the lore of because that was secondary to the narrative is likewise evident from the trailer? Even BEFORE the lead actress spit in the audience's face?

I can never stop emphasizing this, they scrapped nearly everything about Carol's original backstory. Now considering what a trash fire her comics have been since she became CM, maybe scrapping everything was a good idea. BUT they scrapped all the good part of her too and because they're so open about the movie's politics, you know exactly what you're gonna get. All the current cringe from CM's comics without the pesky background/history of the character that won you over in the first place.

The movie will do well, it's a fucking Marvel film, but I do suspect it will do poorly compared to the others. I might be wrong, Black Panther had a similarly obnoxious marketing and it did very well. The movie wasn't as good as the others, again for a Marvel film, but it made a shit ton of money despite it because of how fucking psychotic Black Twitter were over it.

I predict women will be less rabid for it as black people were for Black Panther. I just don’t think it has the same hype culture for Marvel to be able to pull the same trick twice.

See, the BP “first black everything” narrative came from the twitterati. The studio & Director & stars basically didn’t talk about it except for doing something cool with a black character & African culture stuff. And definitely actively avoided shitting on the white audience. It was twitter that tried that. So everyone ignoring twitter shit was clueless & the studio didn’t jump up & echo that sentiment so it didn’t bite them with backlash.

Everyone from Cheese Lady to Sam Jackson to the media to Bob Iger & Kevin Feige has jumped onto that “this is for us & if you don’t like it you’re evil & you’re not welcome” twitter sentiment to some degree or another this time around. And built at least a chunk of their marketing strategy around it. I think it’s gonna hurt them WAY more.

People don't complain about political content in a good movie that they enjoyed watching, and the people who do are considered nutjobs, whether the reason their insanity stems from being a fanatical SJW or a fanatical anti-SJW. Nobody gives a shit that some batch of tumblr dangerwhales are mad that a fat black tranny wasn't in it, or that a demented /pol/ack is raging that a nigra was in their capeshit movie.

"Knew very little about Guardians of the Galaxy..."

Holy shit, check out the stones on this ignorant motherfucker. Motherfucker, we ALL knew about Rocket and Star Lord. And Hawkeye and Widow are BIT PLAYERS in the comics.

This guy is about as ignorant as fuck.

And he thinks Captain Brie Lar... I mean... Carl Manvers is the most powerful and biggest/baddest character in the Marvel universe?

Why is anyone letting someone this ignorant make videos about cape and lasers shit? I'm surprised he didn't choke on his own tongue. As much as I liked Miss Marvel, she wasn't the most powerful in my opinion.

People like this retard is why I don't go to the theater any more to see Marvel shit and just Vudu that shit. And don't talk about comics online.

"Wolvorine's claws are unbreakable!"
"Except for when some demon dude broke off one of Logan's claws from his skeleton and used it as a toothpick."
"THAT NEVER HAPPENED!"

I mean, holy shit, claiming that Hawkeye and Black Widow were bit characters before the movies.

Her peak in raw power was arguably the period when she was Binary. Rogue actually had more impressive physical feats with the Ms. Marvel powerset than Carol did, IIRC.

But all this shit surrounding the Captain Marvel movie recently had me going back and reading some of Carol's classic stuff. Back when she struggled with identity issues due to having no memory of her exploits as Ms. Marvel early on to her dealings with Mystique (where to get back at Carol one time, Mystique shapeshifted into Carol to beat Carol's boyfriend to death) to her struggling again with identity issues after Rogue. This isn't even getting to her period as an alcoholic and her coming to terms with that. Carol has potential to resonate with a larger audience but not when she's a forced feminist symbol rather than a character.

Could you imagine the movie opening up with Ms. Marvel getting tossed out of a space-saloon, standing in the alley and screaming "YOU CAN'T THROW ME OUT! I'M MS. MARVEL! I SAVED YOUR WORTHLESS PLANET, YOU UNGRATEFUL WRETCH!" then have her staggering away.

Kind of like if that Will Smith superhero movie Hancock hadn't devolved into stupid-ass love triangle bullshit or if Superman would have stuck with Superhobo for the majority of the film.

But not, Brie Larsen's Captain Marvel will be perfect and flawless.

I'm just waiting for the scene where she tells Captain America that he has to follow her orders because she's a Colonel in the Air Force.

And that it's later shown that the drinking is her coping with the death of Mar-Vell, an important character in Classic!Carol's life that she never really got closure with and a situation a lot of the audience can relate to. But nope, Mar-Vell isn't there and I haven't seen anything in the trailers that helps make Carol feel "real" to me.

Don't forget that lovely story arc where she gets pregnant with her own son and becomes his lover. NO REALLY. I don't think that will ever be brought up again tho.

Edit: Man that issue was wild, been a long time since I've seen some classic comic book action/dialogue, you know outside of the weird shit mentioned above.
