As so, amid this decline came charges of the project being a target of interference from outside parties who wish to see the project fail. Initially came the claim from Mitch Breitweiser that he was the victim of a blackmail attempt which appears to have been in relation to former YouTuber Late Night Comics who had nudes of his wife that he was releasing. That controversy came and went with little impact on support levels for The Futurists.
Just the fact that he brought up a year-old "nothing" of a blackmail attempt speaks volumes about the desperation and distraction that Mitch and others are trying to whip up because Red Rooster is a disaster and they bit off way more than they could chew.
The "blackmail" was a year-old PUBLIC joke tweet from Late Night Comics saying "Hey give me dirt on Ethan or else I'll make public the nudie pics of your wife that all CGers jerk off to". It was a PUBLIC tweet meant as a needling joke. It was like when Trump joked in public "Hey Russia, maybe you can find Hillary's missing emails?" LNC wasn't seriously intending any blackmail. I would strongly assume that there was no private folder of nude pictures of Mitch's wife. The whole thing was said in public. It doesn't honestly read like a serious attempt from LNC to get dirt on Ethan from Mitch. What dirt, anyway? The whole thing was a stupid crass joke.
Mitch brings it up a YEAR later and uses it as an excuse for why Red Rooster isn't anywhere close to finished even though it's nearly a year late? Fuck off. Get back to work.
I don't see how Kelsey Shannon being internet friends with War Campaign would matter to Wal-Mart. I don't see it. They're not going to care. Do you think they give a shit? They sell DVDs featuring actors who have called for the death of the president and violent revolution against the bourgeoisie. They don't fucking care. Madonna talked about blowing up the White House. They sell her CDs. How many hip-hop albums feature contributions from criminals or from people who fraternize with other people who do terrible things? Has anyone in War Campaign flippantly called for mass murder on Twitter? Because a ton of random people do that on Twitter all the time, and I bet some of them have connections to Wal-Mart suppliers.
The idea of contacting Wal-Mart about Kelsey's behavior* is bad, wrong and stupid. I don't approve of it. It does seem like SJW tactics. But it's no real threat. If the Breitweisers are worried about it interfering with their business, they're really dumb. I doubt they're seriously worried. Imagine some sperg calling up Wal-Mart and being like "Hey one of the dozen people involved in some deal you did--no one you've ever heard of, no one you'll ever hear of again--is friends with meanies online. Not terrorists. Not convicted harassers. Just meanies. Sooo... think you could cancel your business deal?"
Absurd. Not gonna happen. Try again. Pull the other one.
*Not even Kelsey's own behavior. It's about his connection to other people who behaved badly. No one fucking cares.
Posing with someone who's been haphazardly calling people white supremacists and alt-right to get them deplatformed to ruin them got him flak from said people. Shocking.
Okay, then why don't you apply that to Ethan and Richard's behavior?
Ethan did friendly interviews with Mark Waid and Dan Slott during the winter of 2017/2018, right before he left DC and joined/took over CG. This was AFTER Waid and Slott had called customers (i.e. YOU) white supremacists, Nazis, scum, etc. Ethan did friendly interviews with them. That's more than Pocket Jacks did; he just took a picture. Personally, I don't even blame Ethan for those interviews. He was trying to be nice, trying to find common ground, trying to bring those guys around. Still, this was AFTER the "Milkshake Incident". This was well into the nastiness from pros against comicsgate and against customers in general. Ethan made nice with the enemy at least as much as Pocket Jacks did. *obnoxious shrug emoji*
Well into 2018 I also remember Ethan making apologetic and mitigating comments about Heather Antos and Mags Visaggio. He said various combinations of statements like "Well she's seemed nice to me. I'd like to interview her. I think she does like comics and is probably a good person." Again, I don't necessarily have a problem with those statements. But that was well into the "battle against SJWs" or whatever, and that was way more than anything Preston did or said regarding Renfamous, who...
BY THE WAY
BY THE WAY
...Renfamous only has power because CG gave her power and let her live in their heads. Particularly EVS and TUG talked about her endlessly. They needed an SJW boogieman, and she was the one they leaned on. Ethan has blocked customers asking for refunds, but he didn't block Ren. He needed Ren. EVS and TUG platformed Ren so they could make use of her for drama clicks. 50/50 on whether or not they consciously realized what they did, or if they're just that addicted and stupid. They're such terrible leaders that you can't really even say for sure.
But, speaking of people who are so dumb you can't tell if their mistakes are deliberate or not, because you don't want to believe that someone can be that stupid: Richard was even worse in regards to "helping the enemy" or whatever. HE RECOMMENDS SJW COMICS, FFS! He's recommended buying comics by all these people! He recommends that his audience buy Mark Waid comics, Ta-Nahesi Coates comics, Gail Simone comics, etc etc etc. He even recommended a Ms Marvel Annual written by Mags Visaggio! How the fuck is THAT not FAR worse than just taking a picture with Renfamous under the auspices of "We don't have to hate each other constantly"?
It's particularly weird that Zack does this, because Ethan staunchly refuses to buy or recommend Big Two comics, especially not Marvel comics. He doesn't even like the idea of the Drawn & Quarterly guys drawing Marvel or DC characters on livestreams for fun, because in a way that is giving promo to the companies that are the enemy. I basically agree with him on this. It's one of his best takes, imo. So then why does his bestie "Zack" (you know, they're supposedly longtime real-life friends, but he consistently calls him by a fake name for some reason; very strange)--Why does Zack keep recommending comics from people who have actually sworn vengeance against him? Out of some perverse sense of "fair play". Fucking cuck. Like when John McCain shamed his supporters for saying that Obama was anything less than a "nice family man". Fucking loser. It's like they want to lose.
Even if Marvel does put out a good comic, CG and Richard in particular should shut the fuck up about it. Marvel does not deserve promo or forgiveness; they've never said they were sorry.
Anyway, Preston is kind of cringey because his voice is so squeaky. And I have no interest in his comics. There, I said it. Now will Preston sperg out on here like Ethan would, doing a whole damage-control nice guy act? Doubtful.
That right there proves who's more like a control-freak SJW.
Preston's comics don't make as much as Mitch's? Well at least Preston actually produces comics, instead of absconding with $200k without turning in work.
Preston's comics don't make as much as EVS's, so he shouldn't talk about them? Okay, cool, then that means EVS can't criticize Star Wars until he makes a movie that grosses as much as The Last Jedi.
