Then the current TI case against Waid should essentially be a slam-dunk. It's not turning out that way, though. At this point, as with the Vic Mignogna lawsuit, I'm starting to have serious doubts the plaintiffs will win much of anything.
Waid is playing jurisdiction games by playing dumb about what he knew to drag things out longer than they need to. The real case starts once they actually get to a Texas court.

There's no such thing as a slam dunk case. Not when you can spend two years arguing about jurisdiction before anyone even talks about the case itself.
I meant in a real-world legal sense, not in an Ironside (either version) or Law & Order one.

Oh, I know. I saw D&C's recent video on the subject and you could hear the anger in his voice while the light of his soul dimmed a bit. At this point, given the filing age and the legal rigamarole in which Waid's lawyers have engaged, I'd give Richard a 50/50 shot of winning whereas before I was utterly convinced it was an 80/20. Trust me, I'm on both Richard AND Vic's side on this, but it's just not looking like a sure thing, anymore.

Man, disappointed in Murphy. For all his comicbook rock star maverick shit, he folded faster than Superman on laundry day because of 12 fat danger hairs squealing like pigs over his BFB2 cover.

I'm sure DC needs Murphy more that Murphy needs DC. But maybe I'm being too harsh, who knows what pressure they applied to Murphy to make him repent his sins...

I don't know. I wouldn't underestimate the power of the Batman IP.

While there is no sure thing, what Richard wants and what the law allows are two very different things, I think. I'm at the point were I suspect one of the reasons he's paying his attorney up front is he refuses any settlement like what the quaterpounder did. I also won't be surprised if in ten years, should any of us even care, we find out some influencer like Sana Amanat was helping under the table.

Wew, her old artist is really one spiteful dude to be going this far. Even mailed her mom.

And yeah, both sites are actually down. What a little cunt, fucks around for a year and then goes out of his way to trash her campaign when he's fired.

I would have agreed with that in the beginning, but Ya Boi's lawyer pounded the idea of suing a 50+ manbaby into not being a manbaby out of him and told him to just focus on getting a fair payment. There's no settlement because Waid hasn't offered one or at least hasn't made a reasonable one. I won't be surprised if Waid is getting help footing the bill though outside the gofundme.

That's true and he's absolutely getting some kind of help. But a reasonable offer for him involves getting a scalp to ward off future interference. A settlement with special conditions you can't talk about it is apparently Waid's MO, and that wouldn't accomplish the purpose.

A hack of Marvel emails around this time, like what happened with Sony, would be fascinating to read.

I still don't buy her story in general. It makes far more sense to believe, considering neither her or her artist have any actual experience publishing a comic, that neither really knew what they wanted and conditions and empty promises were exchanged which neither would fulfill.

The merits of the case haven't changed, sorry.

This pic sure didn't age well.

I stopped following Weeb Wars months ago, can someone give me a quick update on what happened? From what I've heard Ty somehow lost the case but was appealing last November otherwise Vic would have had to pay Monica and Jamies legal fee's?

Does this mean TUG came crawling back to CG with his tail between his legs?

Judge Chupp dismissed all 17 actions. Vic is appealing (he filed his brief not too long ago), all the defendants have to file a response (which are due within the coming days). Additionally, Monica and Ron are cross-appealing on the fees because Chupp BTFO'd them on the fees (due to Lemoine's filings as an attempt to snag all the GFM money). On a side note, Chupp got hilariously BTFO'd in the primaries for a seat on Second District Court of Appeals (where the case currently sits).

As for TUG (and Yellow Flash), they moved on to other topics sometime in November. I think the latest thing they may have covered Weeb Wars related was the Kitchener Comic Con drama [TL;DR: Vic was invited to his first Canadian convention in 5 years, KickVic Canucks got assblasted, nothing happened at the convention except Vic literally making a Kitchener bank run out of American currency. Oh, Nick Rekieta was a guest there, too]. Other than that, nothing.

Happened a bit faster than I expected, but I was waiting for this. Let the purity tests on Murphy begin! if he's smart, he'll ignore this nobody like he should done earlier or I hope he enjoys only working with a pre-approved list of people from now on.

I do like how Blake is CG now because she acts like an adult and talks to people on an individual basis instead of blackballing an entire group. These idiots need to stop drawing lines in the sand over comics and learn how to just make money on them. I've talked to Blake before, she's nice and keeps the twitter sperging to a minimum.
It's the classic if you're not with me you're against me.

Honestly if AT&T handing the comics division to the movie guys pans out guys like SGM might not have a career anymore.

Especially if Disney follows suit with Marvel which the signs are leaning to.

Maybe these companies are getting tired of these drama whores IDK?

So congrats guys your purity spirals and pandering to nutbars on Twitter destroyed your careers.

New comic book day.

Frog made a livestream. It was extremely long and I dipped out after trying to listen two or three times. Good news is he called Miller and Doug bigots, again, and stated he regretted saying he was sorry for telling people to kill themselves. Oh and he started talking about how Jesus was cool with gays or something. Honestly I kept skipping forward trying to get to the comics stuff.

Nothing from D&C yet that's on the releases today. He had a great review of Chew where he destroyed Layman three days ago and his take on SGM was odd. He didn't really address the elephant in the room, which is Doug. I wonder if he's been pressured.

Elliot Fernandaz and Doug appeared in snore streams with Miller.

He actually opened up about the SGM situation.
