Yes, yes it does. It's why I pointed out TMNT specifically. It was hitting in between 20k-40k issues for the last few months. February numbers weren't as good though and it's gone back down to the 15k range

And now TMNT is another book down as well and actually fairly significant since I like said, it does the best for IDW comics. That's two books down. Do I hear three?

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles writer/artist Sophie Campbell has tweeted that IDW Publishing has instructed her to stop production on the series "for now", with plans to stop after #105.
"Just got word that production is stopping, so TMNT is done for now," said Campbell in a tweet. "I'm going to finish up issue 105, then that's it. See you guys on the other side!"
Issues #105 through #107 have been solicited to come out, starting with #105 on May 6.
It's unclear when or if production on the series will resume, and if so if Campbell will be involved.
Many publishers are pausing or shifting production schedules due to supply chain interruptions caused by coronavirus, including Diamond Comic Distributors' ongoing closure.
Newsarama has reached out to IDW for comment and will update the story if we receive a response.

From what I understand, IDW loses the TMNT license next year anyhow. I don't know if that's relevant to pulling the breaks on this particular series, but it's just a fact to consider. I don't understand why IDW doesn't just announce "Pencils Down" to ALL of their books...

...unless they DID, but the creators are supposed to be quiet about it, and one of the Turtles creators spilled it about their own project.

The internet is filled with idiocy. I'm not "scared" of Mike, nor am I gleeful about "superchats". (I make hundreds of thousands of dollars crowdfunding, and maybe $130 per livestream in superchats. They're nice but not an incentive.)

I'm disgusted by the comic book industry. Some California retailer dipshit is threatening to kill me over the fact that I'm a Trump supporter. The mental illness of comic book people is overwhelming sometimes. If I don't talk about it, I feel anxiety over it.

So I talk about it. And document it, and try to make it entertaining.

Sophie Campbell draws TMNT I believe. I liked her artwork back when she was Ross Campbell on Glory, even though the series turned to shit. Everyone says good things about it.

Wow, that's actually useful Frog, thanks. Though, they've managed to hang onto Transformers/Gi Joe for this long. Is it a done deal or are they simply at the end of the current agreement and need to re-up?

Yeah, it looks good, but isn't she kind of an SJW internet gadfly? It seems like G Willow Wilson and Kate Leth both spilled about their Pencils Down orders...I can picture Sophie doing the same.

I say that to suggest that ALL IDW projects are probably on hold right now.

There are a couple of comic nerds among the superhero actors - Zachary Levi, who was Shazam, is a comic book fan for example. So they might have a reason to want to look after a store they remember fondly, or their local.

The creators, though? The creators of these characters are long past, and were almost all treated terribly by the companies they worked for. Any actor who played Batman and cared about the comics would have reason not to support DC. But also the vast majority of the story and character inspirations for the superhero movies have absolutely nothing to do with any of the comic book people who currently have their hand out. Why should they give thanks in the form of cash to people who are actively devaluing the brand they're associated with?

Also, the arrogance is astonishing, the idea of, 'We made you, the least you could do is repay us.' Bitch, you had literally nothing to do with any aspect of these actors becoming successful. Working in the comics industry is not at all the same thing as creating the iconic characters that became the heroes of movies.

Also, who's the most modern character that's been featured in a big 2 superhero movie? I can't think of anyone more recent than Miles Morales, who (I believe) has been around about 20 years now, was created by Bendis (who isn't on the begging list), and was also only animated so the actor isn't associated with the character in any real way.

tl;dr: Fuck off with trying to guilt trip actors about money. They don't owe you shit.

It's no secret Sophie Campbell (formally Ross Campbell) has been towing the PC/SJW line for many years. Her book Shadoweyes has a transgender in it before Sophie's change, her run on Jem and the Holograms had a new transgender in it AFTER Sophie's change (give her credit, she didn't just troon out a pre-existing character but when she confessed to the Misfits, everyone took it unrealistically well.) and sometimes she draws guys looking effeminate or her girls looking manly. I think that's as far as she goes though, occasional petty twitter bitching excluded.

But unlike G WIllow and Kate Leth, Sophie is an asset to a comic company. There's no denying her quality work on TMNT and only gets better with the right colorist to match her. But Sophie is only one asset out of a small few and it looks like they aren't enough to plug the holes in IDW's sinking ship anymore. Sad but inevitable.

Truth. As much as I loathe Hollywood, they don't owe the comic industry anything, especially since Marvel and DC have gone out of their way to make their comics completely inaccessible and alien compared the movies: remember when GOTG exploded in popularity? In the comics at the time, Peter Quill got married to Kitty Pryde and a bunch of incomprehensible stuff happened that would otherwise confuse and alienate a new reader who might have been interested in the source material after seeing the movie.

That's some pretty brass balls of them to demand Hollywood actors "repay" the comics industry, but these chucklefucks don't realize the mess they're in -Coronavirus or no- is one of their own making and theirs alone.

Problem is, there are dozens of better artists out there that do their work and don't tarnish the brand. TMNT isn't IDW's, and while the owner may not care, the toy company wants the money from the half of the country she wishes she could murder.
