"A text in front of this thing like 'hey man would you be okay with going 2k would it be okay?'"

Donny, did you ever ask anyone's permission before posting to your 48.5 thousands of fans calling other people Nazi and racists and homophobes and bigots because they have a different opinion on what they like in fucking COMIC BOOKS? Or is that not something we actually do when putting people on blast?

Donny is such a pussy. And a fucking exceptional individual for his stupid pander to Hollywood actors. Donny, comic shops don't make Chris Evans money, theaters make him money... Studios make him money... Just add another nail to your useless profession.

Edit: Speaking of 48.5k followers, do we know Cates' YouTube channel? Didn't he say he was going to be streaming there? How's that going?

Edit Edit: Donny is bumbling his way through trying to say he would never do anything to hurt people's chances at making money... Motherfucker, you call people NAZI and WHITE SUPREMACISTS... DONNY, do you realize the real work effects this has on people? Your ILK could have cost Yaboi Zack money, in fact, it did...

Had to be done.

@KingofNothing Nerdrotic and soon probably Jeremy Griggs from G + G have pretty much shacked up with that youtuber. It's only a matter of time before he gets connected to CG in some capacity.

Thing is Cates might have had a point a decade ago when the MCU was cribbing material from the comics for the movies but with Captain Marvel that ship has sailed.

Sean Gordon Murphy has a youtube channel and he's thinking about getting into the crowdfunding scene. His "friends" however are telling him it would be a bad look to do this now, so he made this video to ask for advice. Those some shit friends he has there. He's afraid to make this damn book because he thinks he'll get hammered for daring to make money

Ya Boi's take on the matter

And more IDW news. Now layoffs are happening

IMAGE COMICS Lays Off Four Staffers Due to CORONAVIRUS' Financial Effects
By Chris Arrant, Editor April 6, 2020 12:16pm ET

Image Comics has laid off four staff members as the financial effects of the coronavirus pandemic continue to come to the surface. Image had a staff of 24 prior to these layoffs.
"Letting someone go is always tough, but letting good people go due to circumstances like these is even harder," Stephenson tells Newsarama. "Cuts become necessary at times like this, though, and with comics shops and bookstores alike being forced to suspend business for an indeterminate amount of time, it's important to plan ahead while that's still an option."
"It doesn't make it any easier or less sad, but in order to survive this crisis, we have to make changes in how we do business."
Image Comics declined to identify which of their staff members were laid off, however an Image representative said "their roles were the ones hit first and hardest by the lack of new product shipping and the suspension of regular office business."
Newsarama has independently confirmed one of the laid-off staffers to be graphic designer/production artist Carey Hall, who had been with the publisher for three years. Hall described her own exit on her LinkedIn profile as “Laid off due to Covid-19.”
Since the publication of this article, Newsarama has also confirmed Content Manager/Copy Editor Melissa Gifford was laid off after three years with the company.

Frog did put him on the spot. But what does Donny think this is?
True, but EVS gave him several chances to back out, so that's on him really

What is with with almost all the comic "pros" all of the sudden? I mean we all knew they had a few screws loose, but why are almost all of them deciding to almost one up each other as to how exceptional they can be?

Inspired by Greer..PNG

I don't know who this character is, but it looks like the artist used Russell Greer as the model.

You're the one with the expertise, is it even legal to just make up your own payment schedule like that? To unilaterally tell someone "I'll pay your bill in the following deferred payments" and you just have to accept it?

No, but there's something called force majeure or Act of God that might apply to a global pandemic that makes it impossible or impractical to carry out contractual obligations.

It doesn't mean you just get to keep someone's shit and not give it back, though, or profit by breaking the contract, so they could probably sue for something, like unjust enrichment, if the Diamond cunts tried to set it up so they are the only ones who don't take a bath.

Sean Gordon Murphy asks if it's OK to do a crowdfund book, because his ""friends"" have said it's not a good look. It's likely the same people that just tried to blackball him for doing a cover for Doug Tennapel. What a cuck.
Comments full of CG and adjacent telling him that he needs new friends.

She knows she made a big steaming pile of unreadable shit only she kind of likes, so she's just gonna hide until the heat dies down.
I ... don't think she has that level of self-awareness. I'm guessing she locked it because every piece of information that has come out about this project makes it look like terrible, sub-fanfic tier bullshit, and people have been telling her that.

If you were to comb through everyone tweeting at her, I'm betting you'd find some sexism, racism and wishes for her to die. They will be a small minority of comments, but just wait until it inevitably gets written up as her 'driven away by bigoted manbaby trolls'. Because ignore that apparently Batman, Catwoman and Joker have a full-on bisexual threesome because she's still mentally and emotionally an adolescent - it will only be chuds who think this is shit.

It reminds me of the Children's Hospital 'fan-written' episode.

He could but I doubt he will make it if he's going to bitch out when things get rough like the bfb2 cover drama.

@FROG Dropped DM's between some guy and Donnie in his latest stream and claims Donny has been actively talking shit behind the scenes trying to scare off pros away from him

There's probably more stuff in there, but I don't got time to look through the entire stream right now. The Donnie stuff happens in the first 20 minutes or so

You know, I don't make a big habit of logging back into accounts that I made just to mess with one person but...
I was legit wrong about EVS. I think I was just wrongly seeing a lot of 'Kraut V. Sargon' in the situation. Just goes to show, the internet will still throw you curveballs.
He's distancing from the people that brought out the worst.
Meant to come back here and say this when the whole thing with Sean Murphey's bigfoot bill cover happened but shit's been pretty crazy, obviously. EVS was honestly pretty cool about that (I don't like Doug Tennaple, but on principle it was a good reaction.)
So hey @FROG , consider this me admitting I was wrong about you.
Now... I'm off to once again forget this account existed.

Isn't he one of the "friends" of SGM? If he really was not trying to part people from lucrative deals, he should have kept his mouth shut on the BFB2 cover.

That tends to happen when you make friends with socialists and envious people in a dying industry where few people actually carry artistic talent and merit. And that tends to happen to an industry who doesn't know how to climb back on top and tries everything and anything to reinvent itself, including being a brand for younger generations, which in their mind seems to have screamed "YA authors, Tumblr artists, Diversity, Social Justice, Feminism, Slice of life stories". And when you hire people with the appropriate identity markers rather than the appropriate business compatible markers, you end up with these slacktivists and socialists who now even SGM has to call friends & colleagues after years of working in such a changed industry.

Its supposed to be X-O Manowar I think.

Have these people not realized that EVS likes sharing DMs and messages he gets from people that they would probably not rather have seen in public? Like wtf.

If you aren't a friendly and I didn't engage you in conversation, I'll expose your DMs at my discretion. I'm not protecting the privacy of these people.

The Austin comics hipster scene is the worst.

Donny Cates, Tim Doyle, and the blue hairs and soy boys at Austin Books and Comics really make enjoying comics difficult here in Austin.

Did you watch the video or read the DMs at all? Donny basically gave the go ahead for the DMs to be shared publicly.

I also agree with FROG. If somebody is working behind your back to discredit or harm you in any way (and Donny has done so for years now), they do not get a pass. I would have done the same thing he did. Possibly even if he didn't give the green light for it. That trash has done irreparable damage on countless people who are involved in comics. Zero sympathies here.
