Ethan's rebuttal amounted to calling Vikki a dumb bitch, talking about Vikki's voice, Cecil making colostomy bag jokes, and Malin calling it all boring. When they finally got to the point of it all ( the fact the timeline didn't add up and Ethan acted on the green letter before he ever got it 🤔 ) Ethan's response was to laugh and say he doesn't know what happened because he doesn't know anything about the coins.

Her voice sucks and her video could put even insomniac cocaine addicts to sleep. It's not something she couldn't fix. Learn how to speak, change tone and pitch, if she wants to be a broadcaster.

The coin thing is boring. Actually do something or its some small time crookery like slapping two comics together and padding it with a bunch of 'extras' or talking about quality when the damn pages bend and waver. It's small time shit.

This stream is great! We have Tinfoilhat dude saying everything Vikki and the rest of her side have been saying for a year now and as WarCampaign Tinfoil was calling it all bullshit. He even said he 'won't bend the knee to some guy in New Jersey who wants to control him' because he thinks for himself.

What time? I'm only ten minutes in and @FROG's already irritating me.

Printing things cheap isn't the problem - CG creators can be published through Alterna Comics if they really wanted to (I think only two did). The issue is that they'll all go to the backwater of the LCS stands and make pennies off of, optimistically, a few thousand sales. Or they could print a $2 comic and ship it directly to your house for $10 (this is a big reason why 'premium' CG crowdfunds do better than low-cost comics). Figuring out a third solution for test concepts, developing creators and indie stuff that has no business costing what CG charges like Trixie Cain or PANdemIC, sold cheaply to a large number of customers is the big hurdle.

That's why you need a group that can collectively bargain with printer/publishers, who don't want to deal individually with a bunch of creators. Manga publishers mange to put their material in all the available shelf space, in normal bookstores too without the LCSes (which let's face it aren't even going to exist in significant numbers soon). If you're going to be a real business you have to act like a real business.

The only thing I'd add is that 3-5k from a place like Avalanche Press would have been a phenomenal number.

But as you say, it honestly could not have worked out better for Zach (and EVS) on a professional level.
Oh, I know it would have been phenomenal. Zack could easily pull a bi-monthly JB ongoing if he wanted to, there is a market for a 90's tribute book and he has some talent with dialogue and a single brain cell working (which is not something most CG-ers have). I tend to believe that the only people with more than two brain cells working in there are JSG, Sweetcast and maybe Cecil (who sees it all as a joke)

And, given his channel size and availability through Diamond, he could have an ad on every video hitting decent numbers on the first GN. I wouldn't be surprised if he announces a splatto comics getting distributed by 2021.
Sooner or later, his non-superhero IGGs will hit very low support and an imploded market hungry for money will need all the cash it can muster.

If you'd like a great book shipped to you today, I still have a few copies of ALDRAKE VS CHRONAH'S KNIGHTS available!

Thanks for the recommendation Wenger but I think I'll pass.

My moneys locked up because I commissioned an 8 yr old to do a LotR adaptation with crayons and construction paper.

Stiff competition for you I'm afraid.

@5t3n0g0ph3r Zack confirms at the end of this video that Grand bizarre is not a jojo reference.

Sad face.
Couldn't even play up the meme.

I've read Zack's first comic - it's painfully average and derivative, although I heard he's improved since. I didn't pay money for it, though - borrowed it - so I can afford to be generous in my opinion. If I plonked down the price of a hardcover novel for it, I'd be having buyer's remorse. If left to sell or sink on its own, Zack's brand name may help him sell some copies to his fans, but it's unlikely to have had the success it had once Zack and his crowdfunding became the rallying cry for CG.

If you are talking about Jawbreakers: Lost Souls, then there's a misconception that needs correction.
Jawbreakers: Lost Souls is not his first comic.
Meyer's first comic is this:
It was originally published in 2008 along with other one-shots in Popgun Volume 2:

The latest news across the youtubeverse:

Doug TenNapel takes a Tim Pool approach and provides commentary on a Guardian Article asking the question "Will Comic Stores Survive the Virus?" Doug provides his experiences and insights to what the industry needs to fix itself and offers his opinions and solutions.

Capn Cummings, now Wowz, talks about how digital comics aren't enough to save the industry during this crisis. Mentions the often overlooked fact that even if Marvel and DC were producing content it doesn't matter because Diamond and stores are closed for business.

Everybodies favorite anti-CG conspira-sperg The ComicsBook Hut has been trying to get into internet slap fights with Just Some Guy. Aside from the video, The Hut has been tweeting JSG in your typical "notice me senpai" way.

JDA talks about the Diamond distribution shutdown, summarizes a Bleeding Cool article talking about DC creating their own distribution network in lieu of Diamond.

Credit to @Newman's Own for this one, on the most recent Live with Liam #5, Ro Kabir calls out Kiwi Farms and subtly threatens Kiwi's with the full wrath of SpergCampaign. Reactions by Kiwi's can be found in the Containment thread (Video starts at the correct time)

Since CG drama seems to be hogging the spotlight lately just thought I'd highlight some recent video's that may have slipped under the radar, in keeping with the threads theme.

As much as I dislike Ro and Warcampaign, I honestly dislike Cecil even more.
Watching Cecil, a guy who has made 6 figures on Cash Grab, call for Sketch Therapy, a mentally ill veteran who superchatted his last 72 bucks to EVS, to defend the ideals of Comicsgate on his behalf while he hid in the chat was pathetic beyond words.

I'm shaking in my boots in fear of dildo memes.
It'll be fun reading Ro's attempts to "own Kiwi Farms."

Sketch Therapy is Comicsgate's best waifu.

Ro seem's to be a little more energetic than usual lately. I'm not sure if his getting drunk on streams or started snorting coke but he sounds like a man who is flying to close to the sun.

Forgot to add this on my last post, from the twitterverse:

Matthew "The Mailbox Bandit" Lewis in typical TUG fashion has now started clickbaiting his own tweets. The latest unsubstantiated rumor, TUG claims that an enemy of Comicsgate is actually "steeped in criminal activity." It's unclear whether his referring to CGs SJW enemies like Doyle and Renfamous or the legions of "anti/ex/OG" Comicsgater's that have left the movement, but his listen and believe narrative is being swallowed hook, line and sinker by Comicsgate's more low IQ troglodyte adherents.

TugClickbait.PNG

We'll have to wait and see if TUG does a video explaining his latest accusation.

I've never bothered to listen to this future suicide in the making until today. Holy shit what a pathetic pussy keyboard warrior; he sounds even more whiny than Donga for fuck's sake. And I bet he's more cowardly too since a fat middle aged mormon made him cry and kiss the ring at one point.

DC are the only publishers working with Midtown on that new distribution channel

Peter Simeti is still on fire and replied to that Brian Hibbs facebook rant i posted earlier

Also now there is a #Canucks4comics aping the #creators4comics dumpsterfire, so keep your eye open for some more garbage. At least they are pledging that 100% of the money will go towards Canadian comic shops, unlike the BINC campaign. Statement below

Is any other company working on their own distribution channel right now or they just sitting around with their thumbs up their asses? Diamond shutting down and sprinkling out their payments should have been a huge wakeup call to have literally anything else to fall back on.

I really enjoy sassy Peter. These past two years for not jumping into the culture war and just selling comics has really lit a fire under his ass. Brian's an idiot anyway for being so assmad that DC is looking for options that aren't Diamond so that this situation doesn't happen again. I still can't believe he's legitimately upset about having to not deal with Diamond. Everyone having all their eggs in one basket is one cause to this shit, dummy

AFAIK only DC has said anything concrete, that they are starting to ship a few already printed books to stores that are open. In February DC was 30% of the market by volume with 86 books (102 with variants) stores will have to ask themselves if it's worth staying open with the trickle of new product.
This new era kicks off Tuesday April 28 with three new issues (Daphne Byrne #4, The Dreaming #20, and Batman Giant #4), along with planned reprints of Batman #89, Nightwing #70.

On Tuesday May 5, the main DC superhero line returns with Batman & The Outsiders #12, The Flash #753, The Green Lantern Season Two #3, Hawkman #23, along with House of Whispers #20 and Joker/Harley: Criminal Sanity #4. A facsimile edition of DC Super Stars #17 will also be released on this date.

And then on May 12, expect Harley Quinn #72, Justice League #44, Justice League Odyssey #20, Lois Lane #10, and Metal Men #6.
Marvel has said they are working on a plan and being coy, but hasn't announced anything other than a few products being "stalled" i.e. #pencilsdown. I feel indies are fucked due to economics of volume and are simply waiting, with thumbs in arses, for Diamond news.

Sassy Peter is great because he'll tell it like it is, doesn't get upset about decisions outside of his control and gets on trying to sell his product. Alterna is doing their own distribution and announcing new retailer locations, I've yet to see anything like that from the other indies.

lol don't hold your breath

The only people I've ever seen the Mailbox Martyr deliver actual info on are people who once considered him a friend or ally.
Other than that it's always been this dumb bluffing game and "insider baseball" LARP with no names or details with him.

I've always felt Tugboat was an appropriate nickname once you factor in the water displacement of TSS Lola.

What was it Yaboi used to always say about SJWs? They never have friends, only allies.

I'm really enjoying all the California shop owners who think they're big deals and can dictate on Facebook to Marvel & DC over what to do right now. :story:

The lack of self awareness is amazing. They have no idea how utterly irrelevant they are in the current market. If anything, they should be ecstatic over Diamond having its total monopoly threatened. Yet a few of them are flat out saying "Diamond coming back is the answer!", when all the eggs is one basket is one thing that lead to this mess.

This is decades of failed business plans and refusal to adapt with changing markets coming home to roost. They're still heads in the sand over it.

In other words, they did not learn anything from this fiasco.
Their genius plan is status quo ante-coronavirus.
Unbelievable.

On his livestream the other night EVS said he told Ro in no uncertain terms that if they wanted Vestige 2 to be a success they should get their house in order quick. Obviously he's a little pissed that they picked a fight with Anna, Jon and Cecil. Politically it's probably the ideal way to handle it.

Well, to be fair Diamond was THEIR monopoly. It allowed them to prosper, as much as a comic book store can. But I'm all for the books going back into spinner racks as disposable entertainment at the grocery store. As a GenX 'er it's how we discovered them.

Yaboi Zack talks about Kickstarter laying off staff after new projects fell by 35%

Gatekeeping really worked out well for them didn't it?
