Dan Shahin's show was wrapped up at this point while Simple Zack rehashes the saga of Heather "fun dumpster" Antos after ~3 minutes of discussion of DC leaving Diamond since no one else on the panel has anything to say regarding comics (one is playing with a horn) and are just biding their time before they can uncork their boilerplate anti-SJW rants.

Today was a short Liamstream on account of Liam vs neighborhood meth dealers, still action packed chat with jannies yelling about "TrueCG vs Dynamite Comics", angry delusions about how the customer will rally behind Warcampaign, Liam's guests failing the "are you Comicsgate?" test.

To go all alternate timeline, suppose EVS acted like Zach, how do you think his IGG campaigns would do? I honestly think they'd do worse, sadly. For whatever reason we live in an age where drama sells.

Depends on how you define 'acting like Zach'.

Meyer doesn't engage in drama anymore but he also under promotes his projects. I think if Ethan skipped the infighting drama but still streamed regularly and didn't excommunicate his friends he'd have made 20-50% more sales than he has now. ComicsGate actually had a lot of potential for growth in 2018. In 2019 it was squandered. And in 2020 it's in decline by the look of things.

It isn't the infighting and drama that drew people to Ethan. It was the entertainment factor and his preaching to the quire where CG was concerned. People came to love him for being entertaining and for agreeing with them. The drama started around the time the growth from his StarWars rants started to wane and while it probably helped drive engagement it also drove off paying customers.

If Ethan had not engaged in the gay ops and drama whore shit he'd likely still have much the same cast on his streams that everyone actually enjoyed in 2018. He likely would have added others but only kept the entertaining ones as regulars. He likely would be getting a tun more views and selling a tun more books but he'd probably take a hit on the superchats as drama seems to drive those donations.

Ethan lost a big group of paypigs when he finally denounced WarCampaign but I think a lot more walked away in a steady stream of relatively normal people who said "enough" after Doug and Edwin and Nasser and Mike and George and so on.

And now WarCampaign.

Ethan kept a lot of StarWars fans but I think a lot of comics fans have walked away. People who came for comics not IBS. I don't think he'll get a lot back now that he's feuding with WC instead of covering for them. Most people move on and few look back.

A year and a half ago CG was growing and serious artists were thinking about joining. That would have meant a growing fanbase and increased sales for everyone and especially for Ethan being the big dog. When the drama got out of hand most of the artists with something to lose steered clear of the whole thing and said "I ain't risking my career on that shit show like Mike Miller did". "Malin could go next. Who knows?"

Ethan could still be making drama sales off instigating with the esse-jay- dubyahs but he chose infighting instead.

I think the gay ops and drama have led to a lot of money in superchats in the short term but have reduced the support for his Indiegogos. Most of what he calls anti-CG is ex-EVS fans who bought his first book, like Vikki or Laughing Ma, who would still be with him if not for all the gay shit. But for every vocal "anti" how many people got pissed off and just quietly walked away?

But this stream is a perfect irony. To borrow the name from you, Simple Zack called the mainstream a cult. Does he realize CG is a cult as well? The name "ComicsGate" came out of his mouth too at some point, but he wasn't talking as if he was in it, but that he did say it as if it was implying as somewhat belong to their side of things.

HeelsvsBabyface is trying so hard to be outraged to impress everyone else that he's a strong cultural warrior. Simple Zack didn't understand what he was saying, nor his accent.

This guy in the chat is kind of clueless. Manga/anime is not a gold mine to keep referring to. Especially in recent years, the quality has become intensely more and more derivative with newer works and cannibalizing one another. Stories like Black Clover and Seven Deadly Sins are wasted potential due to rushed stories and lack of any detailed plotting and is amateur hour works, and they're the ones promoted heavily on the front pages of shit. Sword Art Online is a trash anime, yet it's one of the most popular shit. I'm annoyed of this navel gazing view into the manga/anime industry as if it's a safe haven from the corrupting Western entertainment market. It's simply more affordable, and is easily accessible due to heavy piracy, but even the quality of manga/anime has been dipping in the years. There are still good ones, but if the trend continues, you can bet that the good stories will die out if what's popular to sell is shit tier stuff due to kids having poor tastes as the world becomes more and more soy based.

EDIT: Now it's about comparing the Riots, ANTIFA, Looters, BLM, the SJW agenda and somehow relating it all back to ComicsGate and the culture war. It's not a conversation that is all to enlightening to be honest.
