I get the impression Liam is more in line with the idea that he belongs in a counter-culture movement than producing stories. He wanted to do comics, then toured with punk bands, now he is in CG. What he creates feels secondary.
When he is pitching Xenotype, he always talks about a teenager artist held back by The Establishment or something, but the rest of it seems like it is secondary to the main plot. And he is not smart enough to pitch it as "a young comic book artist gets the opportunity to become the superhero he was drawing" or something... I would back the latter.
Zack is keeping the $25-books/shipping fees because he bleeds money over the Waid-suit.
It seems there are plenty of obsessive comics fans with superhero complexes. They like superhero stories because they believe that deep down they're one too. The internet and social media only amplifies it. Heaven forbid they get a following and their need to save the day is validated... I'm surprised Liam doesn't wear a cape. I wonder what handmade uniform he wears under the suit.
