Not paying me is not "being generous". I showed the dms. We both said we were disgusted how people like Jerry Siegel, Joe Shuster, Bill Finger, Jack Kriby, Steve Ditko were screwed over, and said how we "Wouldn't screw each other over" and how "The character is as much yours as it is mine" and how we would "Split everything down the middle" and you FAILED to do so every single time. You've taken the whole campaign and given me nothing, and you've continually bragged about making up expenses so you wouldn't have to pay me. You stole my writing credit we agreed upon. You're a thief and liar, and I've proven it with all the dms. You showing that you had an idea for a cryo-tube doesn't negate our agreement, it doesn't negate that you already said we'd each make thousands on this book, it doesn't negate that you've spent campaign money.Cecil is the last writer I’m working with. I’m doing my own books from now on. Hiring people who will get fairly paid when they turn in work like I did on Brutas.
No more headaches & dumb decision because I tried being generous.
We don't have to argue. You're shipping/shipped the books today. How much is left?
Let's hold back a small amount for any lost or damaged books (which none will be damaged, I've sent tons of books in geminis and there's never any damage) like somebody suggested earlier in the thread, and split the rest between ourselves. What is so difficult about that? Why wouldn't you want to do that? We could be out of each other's lives for good. Isn't that more appealing than going on with Nick, than going to small court, than continuing this thread?
Neither of us wants to go to court or do these things, but I will if I'm not paid.
I'm sorry things went south. I'm sorry we had a falling out. I don't want to get screwed on this book. I put a lot of work into writing all those issues, I used all my connections to get this book promoted, people trusted us because I put out Stardust on time. I did my share of work and I should be paid for it.
I don't want to keep pulling my hair out over this. You can hold a small, small % for replacements (there aren't going to be many--I think I replaced 2 lost packages with Trixie and probably another 2 or 3 for Stardust), and we can split the rest.
I couldn't really see a reason not to do that.
