Yeah, that's a bad take. Kelsey is one of my favorite people in CG by a considerable margin, but the Breitweisers are not the hill to die on. I know he's on Norah's Saga and everything, but I'd have just stayed out of this one instead of rushing to their defense. What they've done is not defensible. And to address his point about the lack of outrage for other projects as late as RR... people are plenty pissed about things like Sovereign and Detective Dead. But those guys aren't flaunting their Walmart deals and pissing on their customers in the same way that Mitch is.

Yeah by no means am I trying to shit on Kelsey here. He's a decent guy from what I can tell. I think his occasional bad takes are the result of him being a bit of a compulsive contrarian, which I can certainly empathize with.

Hate to be that guy, but Kelsey is also incorrect here about the Allegiance Arts bundle fulfilling on time. It was due in January 2020. On January 28th, they posted an update stating that they didn't have the books in hand yet. Fulfillment began in February. I personally got my shipment on March 3rd. Just barely over a month late. Definitely within my margin of forgiveness, and certainly better than most CG books (see my fulfillment chart). But I get frustrated when people falsely claim to have fulfilled on time. I'm sure Kelsey is just misremembering, as he wasn't directly involved with the campaign, so no harm done.

Could be something from kickstarter, he didn't specify CG books and Detective Dead comes pretty close. But like @Unverified and you have said, these other books didn't have a deal where non-backers were holding the first physical books before the backers did and have it shoved into their faces. Those other books are late either due to incompetence or scamming. Red Rooster is late because Mitch decided getting the books to original backers were a secondary priority to Wal-mart and as one of the suckers who backed both Red Rooster and Detective Dead, the Red Rooster deal, that irks me more.

Kelsey's thing is that Mitch and Betty are nice people, and should be forgiven.

I like Mitch and Betty. I do forgive them, but the problem is, they didn't offend me. They offended a ton of mutual backers. They totally fucked up.

I don't want to add on to the problems the Breitweisers face. And I'm happy to never talk about them again, but then we've got Mike S Miller gaslighting and insulting all of these backers, the people who I'm counting on for continued support on CYBERFROG and other ALL CAPS projects.

Mike S Miller by this point must realize that crowdfunding his comics probably isn't going to be his future. His books aren't really making any money through IGG, or even a combination of IGG and KS. So Mike declares that it's not in ANYONE's future, and makes a play to genuflect to the Breitweisers, in the hopes of perhaps joining in on their Wal Mart deal.

In the process, he pisses on all of the people who gave the Breitweisers money, and ridicules their hard feelings. And now we've got to un-gaslight our entire audience and explain to them that they have every right to be angry about RED ROOSTER, and ComicsGate projects should learn from that lesson.

TL;DR: Mike S Miller is a craven and opportunistic asshole who is looking for another port in the storm in the Breitweisers, and has now caused them further scrutiny.

It's the farms Greed, shit away. This is about money. Mitch and Betty pay him and he's got some profit deal, I think, on those Wal Mart books. He's absolutely trying to shame customers for speaking out. Sound familiar?

In my ultimately meaningless rating system I draw the S-Class line at 100k+ with A-Class anything above 50k. I agree with your analysis that this is where the chokepoint is but rather than 'the Pandemic threshold' I call it the Peregrine threshold. That book squeaked over 50k and the Graded team are a great example of ^nobodies^ starting at the bottom and building their own audience. It makes for better propaganda.

Assuming nobody with active campaigns launches anything else before fulfilling an open one 👀 then Malin looks like my favourite to be first out the blocks with the next thing. And the audience is hungry for a big win.

I don't know what's going on. Regarding Preston, and why someone 'pushing Jesus shit' associates with pornographers, it may be a simple act of forgiveness after someone's confessed their sordid past. Oh fuck off, it was ~3pages of mild criticism of Doug not being a saint, and even then it was mostly Dongs fucking with the narrative that the other Newman wants to push.

Doug's not trying to convert Preston, he's with Preston as part of a thinly aligned group comprised of anybody who's currently mad at frog. That's it. It's why once allies Nasser, JDA, Vikki, and probably others have been dropped from their group and WC are now in.

If anybody is going to cancel Doug it will be the MAGA boomer audience he is currently chasing, they hate degeneracy in general and really fucking hate any degeneracy that implies or involves kiddies. Or it will be Preston himself who has shown to be very happy in attempting to use cancel culture against people he dislikes. Doug's just lucky that the audience he's chasing don't give a fuck about comics or paying attention to Preston.

In the past week we've had:
  • Loli discord degeneracy
  • A few doxes, corresponding twitter meltdowns, and the blaming of the wrong people.
  • A few speds joining the thread with high probability that at least one is of the above doxed. Another wanting to start a fight with jspit2.0 down Cherokee way.
  • Another Liam meltdown
  • Some sperg contacting Ethans dad on facebook because EVS said the comic name "Hayvard Saint's 8: Federal Offensive Responders," was dumb.
  • Prestons Peggers, an attempt to form a WC like group.
  • Preston threatening 2 lolsuits (again)
  • A voicemail of Doug calling Nasser to tell him he's now blocked on twitter
  • Joe Glass and his EVS insert outperforming simple Zack
  • Comic pro's having a no alex de campi contract clause
  • Comicchron pulling laughable comic sales numbers out of their arse
  • Mike and RR retardation
Absolutely nothing funny has happened and the thread should, nay, needs to once again talk about pizza parlors and Tim Lim. That'll get the chuckles going. Honestly you both might have a better time in Prestons discord if you can't find anything funny to laugh about.

Even back in the day, I had to leave the DM groups they were in because I didn't like the 24-7 "Ethan Ethan Ethan Ethan Ethan".

I told them this is gamma male behavior to be writing paragraphs obsessing over another man constantly and to do something productive instead. They were also doing nasty stuff trying to destroy people, make nasty over the line memes -- it was just like WC, and I was not interested in being a part of something like that since the whole point of why I was fighting was WC was doing awful things to people.

Preston used to get really upset all the time about that making passive-aggressive comments about himself being a gamma male because of my advice to do something else productive other than hate him.

When I peaced out of the DM groups cuz it kept getting GayerOps, Preston gave me a lecture about how I'm "not being a leader" because I wouldn't sit there and gossip about another comic artist all day. He wanted my clout there then for anti-Ethan nonsense and that's all he was interested in. Once Doug joined his clout crew, he didn't need JDA clout cuz he saw it as bigger.

Doug clout doesn't ever help anyone though. With his huge platform everyone who's tried to go on there (Nasser, Smiller, CryptoComics) got nothing. His fan base doesn't do anything for anyone but Doug.

On the other side, Doug and WC are heavily tied. He started attacking me back in the day with "ETHNOSTATE" bs cuz they were all in groups together. Doug used to roleplay D&D with Ro and a few others weekly, and now he does with Preston and a few others (might be some WC in there). You'll note both went on that call for WC to have everyone on about a month back. With Doug and Preston tied together I'm sure they'll all build together.

My contention with everything was always WC's antics and seeing this group align with them and act more and more like them is disturbing. Preston's already ostracized half or more of the people who were friendly with him. I have no idea what he thinks he's accomplishing.

I got an offer once to be in a dm group. I said "I don't really do dm groups" (outside of a green room, a place to just drop a link for a live stream). I was added anyways, and left after a couple days.

It was some point last year when you were trying to be cool with Ethan, and all I saw was "Reeeeeee how dare Jon try and be nice with Ethan!" and they were all tearing their brains, so I left. It was completely soybased.

One time, during the Secret Comics Presents campaign, Doug had me on, and the whole time kept going "I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY YOU'RE DOING COMICS AGAIN, I TOLD YOU NOT TO DO COMICS, I DON'T KNOW WHY YOU'RE STILL WRITING COMICS."
 
For all of Doug's faults, Earthworm Jim is a high quality product with an impressive amount of content for the cost. Just got EW 1 & 2 in the mail today and, I gotta say, this is the Gold Standard of Crowdfunding campaigns.
