I didn't see this posted so here's something worth noting.

Remember Aubrey Sitterson? Remember he genuinely apologized for acting like a piece of shit about funny books last year? The unlikely redemption arc continues.

A theme with both CG and anti-CG (or indie in general) is how much they muck around with fulfillment of the thing they got paid to make. Here we have a guy who used to be pissed off all the time and sold under 5,000 copies of GI Joe to just being happy to package and send what books he sells himself.

I found out through YaBoi's video and he's happy for him. And encourages everyone to do the same. And that Jawbreakers 3 is delayed due to some fulfillment nonsense (but he too is looking forward to fulfilling orders).
He is probably smarter than 99% of people in the comicbook industry, simply because he discovered he is in a bucket full of crabs and decided to get out.

Ya Boi really love redemption arcs and this is probably why he is getting so blackpilled, because he is not getting any

what about him sitting on a completed book for seven months? I find that kind of strange especially since he had the money to fulfill the books.
Unplanned medical bills and complications from Covid, while working on other projects I think would explain it. Well, that and wanting EVS to publish it for him, but not being ready to ask him for that.

I imagine a first time trying to full fill something on your own is pretty daunting. Pretty amazing what he's been able to do, interested to hear how this book turned out honestly.

Maybe grab a copy of it off our eBay store if you like what you see and hear. It looks better than any Marvel book right now.

As I mentioned previously on the name and shame list there were creators who have valid excuses and reasons for the book being late. The creator of one project passed away, Alazmat Films is producing a graphic novel on a tiny budget, Kyle Ritter had COVID, Keven Sharpe drew hundreds of free sketches for his physical backers etc.

I think the biggest grievance relating to overdue books are those who do not update the backers monthly, or if they do update the campaign, the updates are throw away updates with zero information on the current progress of the book. Kevin Sharpe for example states in his update he has 14 pages to go, Alazmat's book is finished and is beginning fulfillment now and according to the latest update Starblades is now being printed.

As long as creators are transparent with backers on the current progress of the overdue book, I think most will be forgiving and understanding. The extremely bad examples of crowdfunding in my opinion are Antonio Brice, Mitch Breitweiser, Elliot Fernandez and several others.

You need an editor bro.

[EDIT: Autistic? That shit's hilarious!]

I rated you autistic because you're criticizing an auto corrected word in a page drop. I was only telling Nasser that I didn't think it was a conspiracy.

I explained what happened with Starblades already. Looks like Kyle got taxed, and also spent about $40k of his then $175k campaign (as is his right, for producing 60 pages of penciled, inked, colored and lettered art.) He had the rest of the money when I asked and delivered us a check just shy of 6 figures when called upon. The check cleared.

Even if it hadn’t, and he was completely broke, I would have considered some kind of arrangement where we overprint the books, sell them, and I keep 100% of the profits to pay us back for the money we laid out, because the book is that good.

But Kyle held on to the printing and fulfillment money like a champ.

This explains a lot, thank you. I know Kyle caught COVID twice and it's a horrible disease, compounded by his other issues. Being late on a book is a legitimate criticism and you answered the questions despite my brash approach. I frame my questions like that because it's way funnier than being analytical and sincere. This is a comedy website and grinding people's gears is a big part of what we do here.

Mine's waaaay better.

Lol it's Panboy and WC sperging I saw in the comment section of your post. To do the drop that I did, Null -the site owner- requires that we use a special spoiler only accessible to members of the site and add substantial commentary. Context, regardless of how autistic, a-loggy, MATI, and spergy it sounds helps protect the forum.

Is the lowercased lettering some new SJW thing? Its hard to look at and gay.

Of all things to be mad at EVS about, fixing the Stalled Starblades production is one of them? Kyle is extremely overweight and survived Covid. I think he gets a pass to an extent, especially since he held onto the money. I didn't back Starblades though, so looking at the opinions that do matter on the campaign page reveals a good amount of positive comments with the latest update.

Is lowercase lettering the bisexual lighting of lettering?

I really can't explain why the lettering is the way it is. It looks like shit. The dialouge is endless Bendis-level talking. Why the fuck do I have to read a full page of text across like 100 panels on a page?

The whole comic is a mess. In the panel where they are in bed and she's wear a -space suit?- I don't know. Retarded. The pace is slower than shit. I'll keep dropping issues of the book if there's interest.

I thought I made it clear I'm not mad at Kyle or EVS about it. I got the response I was looking for.

Lmao my a-logging led to an update.

Yeah, this is the low bar at ComicsGate I'm talking about.

Kyle didn't spend all the money. He just sat on the finished book which was already a year late.

What a "champ".

I don't hate Kyle. He seems like a likeable sex pest but I do find it strange that Elliot Fernandez has a heart attack falls behind on his mortgage and decides to work a real job to keep his wife and kids in shoes and not eating dog food and he's an asshole because he hasn't delivered the sub-sixfigure book he's struggling with. But Kyle, no wife, kids or mortgage, has a completed book he scored around 200K for and he sits on it for half a year because he got to the hard part of the process (printing and fulfillment) and decided to do it when he felt like it instead of right away.

Honestly, Elliot's a grown man and he should have known better and he should have delivered the book by now. Kyle too.

The "Covid twice" thing is insulting. Getting the coof twice was almost impossible in the time frame he claimed it. There were next to no variants and the number of recurring cases at that time last year were less than 5 in all of America IIRC. He didn't have Covid twice. He lied. I don't doubt that he got sick, maybe twice, and maybe he did have Covid, once, but come on.

When he claimed he got it a second time, that was the moment when I realized Kyle was full of shit.

Of all things to be mad at EVS about, fixing the Stalled Starblades production is one of them?
I can say I'm not buying the excuses made on Kyle's behalf though.

No one is mad at EVS for fixing the mess Kyle decided to make by not doing the grown up thing and doing it himself or asking for help when he realized he didn't have the right stuff to handle the boring parts. There has been a line of people around the block ready to help Kyle since the moment they found out about him.

He's a grown man of reasonable intelligence. Who cares if he didn't feel like printing and fulfilling for 5 months after his year late comic was done? Answer: People who bought the comic.

It's a great looking book (so's Red Rooster) I'm sure lots of backers will be happy. I'm sure lots of backers would be pissed though if the latest update explained that upon completion Kyle decided to do other stuff instead of printing and fulfilling because he really didn't feel like it.

5 months. Can't explain that,
Exactly. Thanks for trying though.

And good job picking up the ball Kyle dropped. (sincerely)

Starblades is at the printers now. According to Ethan’s latest update! Now everyone can stop acting fake offended over a book they probably didn’t even buy Because it’s no where near the same thing as the Breittweiser situation.

I'm not acting fake offended. Good for him for fulfilling after Frog Dad came in and made him do his job.

I haven't dropped anything in a while and since Null added this new NSFW spoiler here's some NSFW content.

COMMENTARY: This shit sucks. The writing is wack. The art is wack. Fuck this bullshit. I want you're opinions on what you think.

This idea is stupid as shit. Super powers? At least now we know where @Wenger got the retarded idea. Speaking of plagiarizing faggots it appears WC did something useful for once and caught EVS and Cecil stealing ideas.

Anyway, I don't like the colors here. The lettering is basic bitch and I've found better comics in the trash can.

WTH did I just witness. Is this the Fraction's sex life?

Hey, Ethan made six? color palette swaps original lantern corps. Does that sound like a man who would copy pasta someone else?

Let's talk about vaccines on your stream...

Nassar no! Don't take candy from the bad man. Doug Tennaple, Crowder. Don't do it!!!

Fernandez is an "asshole" because he's taken very little responsibility for his project. He did shit all to promote it when the campaign was live, got pissy because it didn't make enough money, skedaddled off Social Media, now updates with "it'll be done when it's done" while streaming for hours with Miller when he could be doing his book.

Ritter didn't get nearly enough push back for his project being late. As Ethan's colorist, a deaf mute, and someone with health issues, he hit a trifecta of protection. Maybe if he got more shit for being late, he would have asked for Ethan's help sooner? Who knows?

Okay lads, here's the real reason for yesterday's drop. This issue was colored by one of the "sacred cows" aka Bettie Breitweiser.

COMMENTARY:

Wholesome gal right? Anyway her watercolors are okay but everything else sucks nads. Very flat, weird shadow placement. Lens flare is like watching the new Star Trek movies. That's all sexy B. Though honestly a colorist can't save bad art and Zdarsky draws like Chris Chan on acid.

Again the lettering. The fuck? Random bold words. Super random word box placements. So. Many. Panels. The letterer is forced to make balloons cross panels because they are drawn too small even though that doesn't happen anywhere else.

Fraction's writing about wanting a little kid to fuck his mom is disturbing to say the least. It's an awful story about "crushing" fetishism. Sick. No wonder why "backdoor Betty" wanted to color this issue. I imagine Mitch in the closet sniffing shoes while TUG films Betty getting railed by comics nerds. Degenerate.

Yep.

They both should be shit on for disregarding their customers in different ways as I said.

I'm not interested in why Fernandez is being shit on. That's obvious and uninteresting. I'm interested in why Ritter is protected. That's a more interesting story.

EDIT: I'm not disputing that Elliot has been an "asshole". He has. So has Kyle but he mostly gets a free pass, even here.

I get that too. We give passes to disabled people often when they don't deserve it. I think as human beings we develop a bias toward the disabled assuming they always mean well. That and his associations seem to have protected him from criticism.

He is arguably the best colorist in the industry right now. It’s good to keep a guy like that in your roster and if helping him fulfill his book keeps him doing work you than it’s a no brainer as to why he should be protected. Plus his book looks awesome as fuck and it’s a boon to have that being published under All Caps Comics.

He's a good colorist.

That's a good reason for Ethan to protect him. It's not a good reason for anyone else.

Doomkicker looks great and so does the art on Red Rooster. That's not a reason to excuse creators disregarding customers.

Why the fuck does Zdarsky, who is one of the few people in Marvel that can write a decent story, is drawing mr DeConnick's trash book?

It looks better than any Marvel book right now.
Surprisingly they hit deadlines on time rather than infrequent updates and late books. They might be shit but at least they don't wait 3 years for a book to come out. shinobi sasquatch (who ironically changed the shopping date to 22), brutus and lady alchemy have no reason to be 2 to 3 years late. For the all caps business or streams sign/promote people who at least have 1 to 3 books out or someone who have part of the book finished and just need a little push because a lot of cgers are just getting funded when they only done the cover and promotional art.

It's not great. Some of the faces have that weird uncanny valley effect where it looks like they traced photographs of people. I remember this being a big issue with the more recent Star Wars comics, where the artist were literally tracing Luke's face from frames in the movie. I'm not sure if that's what's happening here but I'm noticing it more and more and I'm not a fan of this "technique".
Is lowercase lettering the bisexual lighting of lettering?
My issue is more with the font than anything else.

CG gave him a pass for sexual harassment of female CG creators because he's Frog's pet, so why not give him a pass for being utterly incompetent when it came to fulfilling his book?
