This is going to be an angry ventpost.

The last mission in Red Alert (Allies) is absolute garbage. I can't deal with all the bullshit the enemy throws at me. The literal second I fend off one attack from my base, I can't make any progress and regroup because the AI has shat out another two mammoth tanks. I tried my hardest to deal with this bullshit, I really did. But the map is so ludicrously one-sided that the enemy has worn me down and is destroying my base. I wasted an hour of my life because the playtesters were too busy having sex with their own family members to do their fucking job.

The only plays of this map I've seen online are all hyper-optimized speedrun strats where they build like three ore refineries and flood the enemy with tanks. That's fine but if that's the only way to beat the mission that speaks to the map being poorly designed. There probably is a "proper" way to beat the map, but I just don't feel like putting another hour in trying to find it. What's the point? If the developers didn't care, why should I?

I hope everyone who worked on that map dies alone.

Wasn't there a community project that tried to breathe life back into C&C TS since it was legally classed as abandoned ware or something?
Are you thinking of OpenRA? They were (are??) working on a Tiberian Sun follow up.

I really like Red Alert and Red Alert 2 but Tiberian Sun was also pretty great.

I don't remember it being that hard, it wasn't as bad as the Soviet mission where you had to take over an island. I think I built defenses and had Attack Helicopters snipe the ore trucks and the important buildings.

let's get this straight, the only reason people remember this franchise is the cut scenes and they remade the only games without then?

Also still sad no company decided to rip off C&C and just use porn actors in cutscenes. that screams best meme game of 2013.

Yeah I think I just suck at strategy games. I tried it again after cooling down and built a third ore refinery and second war factory instead of a service depot. Then it was just a case of defending the base until I had about 15 tanks and grinding the enemy base down with suicide charges.

I think in my previous run I made my initial charge too early (i.e. with too few tanks). After that I was just playing catch-up with the enemy and losing. Does anyone have any advice to not be shit at single player campaigns?

Who wants or needs porn actors when you can have Billy Dee Williams, Grace Park, Tricia Helfer, Michael Ironside, and Joe Kucan?
I'm surprised they had any scenery left by the time they were done filming half the cutscenes in C&C3.

there is no way in hell that game didn't have the highest budgets of any pc game at the time. the reason i say use porn actors is because you could get them for a fuck load cheaper. less than $1000.

Okay yes, Uprising is better, but Red Alert 3 is amazing and i am willing to die on this hill.
Username checks out. Only good parts were Tim Curry fleeing to SPAACE and George Takei.

Yeah, but where's the fun in that, aside from the fact none of them know how to act?

Kari Wuhrer bending over to look at a map is a life affirming moment.
Kari Wuhrer was best Tanya. Whoever says otherwise is not just wrong, but 180° away from being right.

I thought the final mission of the Allies was very comfy compared to the previous one. Mission 13, where you had to plant the bombs inside a building that was filled to the brim with Soviets under a ridiculous time limit, can go fuck itself. As a teenager back in the day I was stuck on this mission for the longest time, I can't think of any other game, or level, that made me cope and seethe so much.

I liked Red Alert 3 for what it was, but Red Alert 2 + Yuri's Revenge were peak Red Alert!
