"Commando missions" as in missions where you can't build were pretty bad especially in Tiberian Dawn and the original Red Alert because the engine had a lot of bullshit going for it. I don't recall a mission like so in RA2 that pissed me off, the closest was where you had to go to the Yucatan with a team of Navy Seals.

That's because RA2 Tanya was useful.

And I think they let you build a base once you established a foothold.

I think there were 3 commando missions for allies,

- one had Tanya and spies and you had to destroy nukes in Poland
- navy seal mission in the yucatan
- mission in seattle where you had to rescue bill gates from yuri lol

There were a couple where you started with Tanya and had to do an objective before building/taking control of a base

Yuri would not have wasted his time with Bill Gates.

I just want to say, while C&C4 was a terrible game, I don't think Kane's endong was terrible. Kane escaping Earth through the towers was interesting. Honestly an ok ending for an actor who didnt age for 15 years.

Hated my wife, wish I could have killed her

Reactions: Eagle Bro
Is it just me, or did some remnants of the Empire of the Rising Sun make it to Nod, since the King Oni and the Avatar warmech seem so similar in concept. Giant mecha that shoots lasers. It's just that one fires it from the arm, the other fires it from the eyes. I wouldn't be surprised if Yuri from RA2 was a Nod influencer, and RA3's Yuriko was his daughter. And that Nod influenced both the USSR and the Empire of the Rising Sun behind closed doors. I mean, Kane himself was fucking whispering into Stalin's ear, and the warmech idea that Nod has in CnC 3 is eerily similar to the war mecha that the Empire of the Rising Sun deployed in RA3. It seems that it doesn't matter how many times the Allies and the Soviets change the timeline, they cannot escape the future that is Kane and Nod. He is their inevitable fate.

What is this CnC4 that people keep talking about?
Nothing. Now go back to winning the war for our glorious leader Kane. PEACE THROUGH POWER.

RA3 may have mostly sucked relative to earlier installments, although not as much as when EA was able to fully influence the franchise. But it made up for it by having imo the hottest girl in the entire franchise.

All the RA3 girls were major upgrades from past installments but Eva is especially hawt. Especially with that prissy proper british accent.

Its kind of weird how EA and other game companies mirror the trajectory of DSP when it comes to attitudes toward sexiness. Where they once were considered frat bros who would throw titties up anywhere to cash in but now are ultra militant asexuals uglying up and masculinizing the female characters and spouting feminist slogans.

Bit of annoying actually. They're still trash and lowbrow but in everything but the fun ways.

It's just the corpos chasing trends like they normally do, although in CnC's case, it only worked once or twice due to just how old the series is.

Gina Carano as Natasha is the main reason to play Soviet in the game. She was in her prime when that game came out.

Even the cast list is still really damn good. Might be one of the best I’ve seen in a game.

You talk about the cast but forget Tim Curry devouring the scenery as the Soviet Premier as another reason to play the Soviets?

I miss when games had stupid stories like this that didn't feel forced. Like imagine if Red Alert 2/3 were written today. You wouldn't have Tim Curry and some lady with fat tits in FMV cutscenes. You would have a stupid general with none of Tim Curry's charm and a sassy black advisor who always makes him look dumb. Also someone would have dyed hair.

C&C Generals is nostalgic, comes out during GWOT and has many memorable lines for all the units.
"Please can I have some shoes."
"China will grow larger."

"AK-47s FOR EVERYONE!"

I recently grabbed RA3 to play co-op with my nephew, only to discover it has a fucking retarded networking bug where trying to play over a LAN makes the game shit its pants: it took me forever to find out what was happening because the error is very vague (Invalid IP iirc), and I've never seen another game that cannot understand two devices on the same network trying to connect to each other. It could possibly be worked around but RA3 is not the game to risk fucking up our home network that gets used for very important business shit.

I thought he was a lame choice. Curry was in so many fucking games (just from top of my head either as VA or Actor in FMVs: Brütal Legend, Toonstruck Gabriel Knight, Frankenstein, Dragon Age: Origins, Wing Commander 3, Sacrifice) that he is a boring choice. I got a much bigger kick about Ric Flair being in the add-on (and the trailers he made with that bear were funny)
