This is a 30 year old boy who has never had to face actual consequences in his entire life. Bossmom, Ratdad, or a lenient judge were always there to shield him. He was taught that he's special and he get's away with things. I've seen some people referencing the original car break in case like it was some midnight mischief kids do or something. They broke into 100+ cars and stole who knows how much stuff. How many mornings did this dopefiend and his nigger buddies ruin?

Austin is a shitheel who's been allowed to run wild and now society is pounding him back into place. All the coddling did was assure it would be a lot worse when it actually happened.

True and this time it's one of his parents he is assaulting. Could be someone else's parents or grandparents someday if he isn't taught a lesson.

I'm sure the lawyer told them not to bother showing up as he wouldn't be there and BMJ would only be appearing long enough to get a new date then turned around back to his cell. It's only a week. It might be a good wake-up shock to Austin though.

I assume they'd be talking to the lawyer because they're the one paying for him, but to not show up if Austin truly didn't know what was going on is hilarious given that not even a month ago Ratdad was insisting on paying for rehab after Austin offered. They could have told him in a phonecall and he didn't believe it. No matter what he was told, Andrew might have just assumed he'd be getting bail, a Big Buford, and a ride home this morning.

Mom is such a helicopter parent though that just showing up to see her baby and offer support was probably her plan. Either the lawyer told her it's not a good idea to go or dad is finally fed up.

Mom has not been to any of the court appearances, visits to rehab, or when picking up Austin from jail etc. Rat Dad Scott handles the details. I think to shield her from it.
