Weakest links Michael and William Null were among the first suspects to be charged for the alleged plot to kidnap Michigan strong woman Gretchen Whitmer. The Null brothers face felony charges, after weapons were found during home raids, for providing moral support to badguy organizations.
Barry County Sheriff Dar Leaf, in response to questions of his alleged kinship with the suspects, said: “...they say a 'plot to kidnap'. Are they trying to kidnap? Because a lot of people are angry with the governor, and they want her arrested. So are they trying to arrest or was it a kidnap attempt? Because you can still in Michigan if it's a felony, make a felony arrest, I think it's MCL 764.4, 764.5 and it doesn't say if you are an elected office that you're exempt from that arrest. I have to look at it from that angle and I’m hoping that's more what it is, in fact, these guys are innocent till proven guilty so I’m not even sure if they had any part of it,” and insists that the Null brothers are good boys.
Both Null brothers are being held on a $250,000 cash bail and if convicted could face up to 22 years in prison.
Michael and William Null were among the first suspects charged Thursday morning for their alleged roles in what the FBI calls a plot to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
